  1. Thanks for converting the image to PNG I wondered why the image just showed up as a download. I found the info below on the Autoweek website: So, two years ago, he got to work on the documentary, which is now available on iTunes, Amazon and Xbox. Starting May 22 it will move to just about any video-on-demand platform short of Netflix, and they are working on Netflix. As of presstime you could even see it at a 3:10 p.m. showing at the Laemmle NoHo 7 on Lankershim Blvd. in The Valley. 2. I have seen advertisements on DirecTV (West Coast) for a TV show on Paul Newman this Friday on channel 281 VEL. VEL stands for velocity, 9PM ET. Paul Newman.tiff
  3. Name: Datsun 240Z (1970) Date Added: 05 June 2010 - 04:35 PM Owner: Mikes Z car Short Description: Production date 1/70. HLS30 000907. California car originally, then moved to Idaho at least by 2005. Previous owner had car at least 31 years. I bought car in 2008. Was apparently raced as unnecessary weight items had been removed before I got it such as the windshield wiper reservoir, horns, spare tire and jack, air cleaner. I put all of those things back on, I won't be doing any racing. Currently undergoing rust prevention. Came with Pertronix, has points now. Car graphics of Pebbles and Bam Bam are a love story of couple who owned car. View Vehicle
  4. I try to think of the cars that are ugly as providing parts later on for everyone else.
  5. Looks like I have two holes for fuses on my 1/1970 but didn't know they had a purpose. Don't see a place for a fuse holder though.
  6. Sorry, I actually don't know about cost. I do have a crack in a non z car windshield, have been curious about how it might be fixed.
  7. The spray container in that video is blurry making it hard to identify. I looked all over the net for a container with those colors and could not find it. Another video making the same claim is using OFF! family care but at least one video claims the idea of using a bug spray mixed with alcohol and water does not work. I did notice there are several you tube videos on various ways of fixing a crack. The one below uses suction cups and some other mixture. windhshield crack suction cups.tiff
  8. Anyone heard of this idea as far as does it really work? Windshield crack repair.mov They mix these materials together and then they are applied to the crack.
  9. The orange paint was mixed with Mother Theresa's ashes???
  10. Turn off the bubble machine... the ballroom is filling with bubbles...
  11. The dome light on my car came to life when I cleaned the two door jamb switches. I pried both out and scraped the metal on the car frame and on the switch.

Thanks for the info and please post pictures! I am moving to within a couple of hours of the bay area this month, would love to see your car if I ever get moved and you would have time for a visit. I have a 70 240Z, got it in 2008. Pretty much finished working on it. It may wind up being my daily driver as the place I am moving to doesn't allow many cars.
  13. Blue, bring back those priceless memories, I will sell you my '83 Tercel 4X4 wagon at a resonable price. Runs good, replacement engine, reliable etc Mike

Mesh pocket from link. You are right there isn't much room below the door handle. I like the mesh idea, makes it easy to see what is in the pocket. Some cup holders hang from the window ledge lip right by the glass, maybe that would work.

I wonder if something could hang from under the door handle under the existing screws?
  17. I would think checking continuity might be done with an ohmmeter that can read down to tenths of an ohm but would require some very accurate wire identification. My 1970 dash wiring had three issues, the two thick white wires that carry battery current showed overheating (blackened connector vinyl) at the connectors that end above the passenger's right knee (U.S. car), the T/S switch didn't work reliably and neither did the headlight switch. For the two white wires I soldered the wires to the connectors and gently squeezed the female connectors together on the end closest to the wire to increase gripping action followed by deoxit and dielectric grease on connecting surfaces. The T/S switch and headlight switch were cleaned and relays installed to take the load off the switch. No problems so far.
  18. If there are parallel timelines as some say exist and we exist on them it might be possible that some of us were involved in the styling design of the Z car, in another time and place.

I fill that thing until I can see the stuff a few inches below the lid I am about to screw on. Did that with the 240Z I used to have 30 years ago never had a problem with that technique with either car except when I first got the car I have now in 2008. Back then it had a vent hose leak at the back of the tank. That is now fixed. I did notice when I replaced the rubber fill pipe the old one was hard as a rock, maybe from exposure to gas or just old age?

  21. I am okay with the half cap on my car though I wish the PO had smoothed the glue out a bit before putting the cap on as I can see every line of glue that was used in the form of a slight visible indentation or protrusion, not sure which.

Free for shipping is a set of r etractable seat belts for a '72 240Z. I don't know if this model year had shoulder belts as well but in any event I do not have those. Shipping will be $40 from California, if less willing to refund. I pulled these from a parts car I had.

Free for shipping is an engine bay wiring harness from a '72 240Z. I will assume shipping will be $40, willing to refund if shipping is less. I removed this from a parts car I had, the car was running when it was in an accident.
