MSA 4-piston upgrade with SS lines
I have tried direct hook up from MSA, but the connections to the caliper did not seal well and so it would leak bad. I don't recommend there setup. I have a picture in my gallery.

Wrong Brake Line Do Not USE
It did come with the washers and they did not seal under pressure. Maybe the remaufacture calipers had imperfections, might not be square and flat. My brakes on the Toyata Camry uses that set up with no problems. Personally, I would just avoid using this setup all together. Adding a short new 'S' brake line is not that hard.

original tyre sizes
I've talk to Michelin and they said that the original tire size for the 240Z was 175 - 80 - 14 which is about a 25" tire. 195 - 70 - 14 or 225 - 60 - 14 would have about the same diameter.

Aftermarket Alternators
Currently, the lights run dim at idle at 800rpms. At 1000, the lights are fine. I have HELLA E-spec H4 w/55-65 watt bulbs. If I change the pulley size, smaller, then I should have enough juice to power everything at idle. Who makes aftermarket pulley wheels? Has anyone tried that? The upgrading to a higher amp alternator may not be necessary.

Aftermarket Alternators
Can the stock 240Z alternators be boosted to put out more amps? I like to keep it simple, plug and play. I am looking to upgraded. Below is a link to an aftermarket one but it's $900.00us. Has anyone used them. http://www.powermaxx.com/main.htm Below is a list of electrical stuff it would need to handle: Fuel Injection Engine and all its goodies 100 watt headlights 100 watt driving lights (HID is still to costly) Rear Fog light Air Conditioner Stereo System Alarm System Laptop Computer Cellular Phone Radar Detector Refrigerator -- ice chest type

Atmospheric Supercharging???
"...A clever engine builder can tune the length of the intake tract to precisely time the arrival of an incoming pulse with the valve opening. This natural supercharging packs slightly more intake air into the cylinder, increasing power. If engineers were designing the Murciélago only for peak power, short intake tracts—timed for high rpm—would be fine. But the engine would be weak or even stumble at low rpm, with the pulses out of phase. Thus, Lamborghini counters with a butterfly valve that forces the intake through a longer bypass at low engine speeds, much as a trumpet valve changes a trumpet's pitch. .... "

Heat shield question
Asbestos = Cancer There are still many lawsuits in the courts and it has been determined that asbestos causes cancer in the lungs. I would not even come near the stuff even if it was for free, long life is price less.

4-piston brake conversion questions
Keep the stock brake line setup or replace the rubber hose part with braided lines, avoid the braided lines that bolt directly to the caliper for they could leak. Mine did but on my Toyota Camry it did not. The condition of the used or rebuilt caliper might make the difference. http://www.240z.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1596 http://www.240z.org/photopost/showphoto.php?photo=1597

Rear tire size options?
I use 225 - 60 - 14 on a 14 X 6 rim, no problems. I just wish there was V rate tires in this size.

Wondering if this was wrong
In California, the most recent year, shell or engine, whichever is newer, would determine the year for smog. example: shell = 1972 240Z engine= 1983 ZXT L28 smog year would be 1983

Wrong Brake Line Do Not USE
These brake lines came with the brake set bought through MSA. They leaked at the calipers. USE THE STOCK BRAKE LINE SETUP WITH THE 'S' BRAKE LINE AND STAINLESS STEEL BRAIDED HOSE.
