My current K is actually not too bad,(I got an album up with a few photos) it has some repairs that are easily seen, but I think it was a canberra car originally, so not many problems with rust or anything, but I am pretty keen to get another one, and i'll build a rotisserie and strip absoulutely everything off back to bare metal everywhere, and do a good ground up restoration. I would like to do a GTR replica, seems like a bit of a problem sourcing all the various bits and pieces though (I have been keeping track of the threads about fenders, grill, etc) The panel and paint side of it shouldn't be too bad, cause my housemate is a good spraypainter/panelbeater, and I am a boilermaker, so it's just getting the car, and then all the bits! Also, for trivia's sake, once the fenders are installed, what are the specs of the watanabe's that are so popular in the land of the rising sun? eg. offset, width, rims size(height) etc? I quite like the way that they manage to get the tyres to stretch over the rims, looks like it only just manages to get to either edge of the wheel! I'm sure most of the people reading this know there are some fine examples of KenMeri's etc on www.rockyauto.co.jp .you can use google language tools and translate the page and I was very keen on buying one of their fine cars and getting it back here, until I realised that it was about $130,000!!! cheers adz, Alfa - I thought that some of the trim was the same... The sill moulds that run along under the doors... I thought they were the same, but maybe different lengths? Anyway gotta be persistant, and keep looking, even though it's quite depressing

well, the bits that I listed I am actually missing unfortunately. I have a bit of a stockpile of other chrome bits (winscreen surrounds etc) but when I bought this k it was missing all those bits I listed. But I guess 4 door stuff will be mostly the same?

Hi all, I am after a bit of chrome trim for my 240k, having a bit of trouble sourcing any, wondering if anyone knows of, or has stuff they are willing to sell? I am short 1. external sill trims 2. eyebrow trims for both front guards eg. the chrome that skirts round the outside of the headlights 3. Both eyebrow trims that skirt the rear lights eg. at the end of the rear quarter panels. hope this isn't too confusing, cheers, Dan

This is a very interesting thread, with some good information and stats! It stuck out at me, because I was very keen on doing an L28 in my c110coupe, but an RB25DET fell into my hands, a complete halfcut for $2000 back in '01, so it was very cheap at the time. Mind you it took the next 5 years to get it in my K and running, and then anther year after that until it was engineered etc. There is such a wealth of information scattered all through the vast number of posts and threads about the 240k, which was the first car I ever owned, and consequently I bought 5 more over the years, a couple of 4doors and 3 coupes. But until the last couple of years I didn't know that they enjoyed such cult popularity or even a following in Australia, so I spend a lot of time reading old posts with interest. The 2doors are now such a rarity that it is very hard to get parts for them, as everyone knows, and I am still chasing quite a few items for this current k, chrome, badges, etc., maybe even a complete donor car. Anyway good to see so many people upholding the k's good name, and keeping them alive!

yeah, sux eh. I,ve had 4 coupes over the years, I should have had the foresight to keep them, now that they are so hard to get on to. I am chasing one, which the owner has promised I can have (minus running gear) but he won't sell yet, even though I have been leaning on him pretty heavily to sell! haha

i am keen to get a full set too, as I mentioned in the other thread, i have a few bits and pieces lying around, eg front guards etc, if i can help in any way, let me know...

i've spoken to him in the last 3 months, and he has lots of bigger jobs, eg. commercial, so that seems to take up most of their time, but if he has a large order, I think he should come through with the goods.

I've never seen factory two tone paint before, surely this is a resprayed K... and outrageous price.
