i have a 76 280z. i too had issues similar to what you are describing. i tracked my down to vaccum line issues. vaccum plays an intricate roll in how the engine performs. hope you got your problem lined out.
  2. could someone describe or direct to a site that explains how to clean fuel injectors. my '76 280z had been sitting for some time and i am sure the injectors are leaking and or clogged somewhat. cleaning the inj. may be complicated but before i purchase new ones i would like to give it a shot. thanks

i just joined this forum. i just purchased a 1976 280z. the car has 110,000 miles on it. it has been sitting 1-2 years. it minor rust except behind right rear wheel where it is kind of bad. what are the main things i need to be aware of? what should i immediately do to the engine (manual trans) in regards to tuning-up? any and all information will be greatly appreciated. shane ishmael

hell'o i just joined this group. i live in arkansas not too far from memphis, tn. i just purchased a 1976 280z. this car has been sitting (i'm told for approx 1 yr). when i started the car it fired right up. although, there was alot of smoke that came out the exhust. it smelt of gas. i only ran it for approx. 20 seconds for fear of screwing something up. i am going to transport it to my barn tomorrw and begin general tune-up. i hope this begins a great relationship b/t me and my car (plus, you guys). well, i'm going to jump to the other forums to see what type on info i can obtain on the car and educate myself. catch you in chat. thanks shane ishmael
