  1. I still curse the beer gods for not allowing distribution of Moose Drool east of the Mississippi. Anytime we're in Bozeman I fill the back of the aircraft with as much as it will hold and cherish each bottle while they last. Sweetwater Brewery out of Atlanta, GA has a pretty good lineup as well. Delirium Tremens is not bad, if nothing else they win high marks for the name (Latin for "trembling madness")
  2. Best beer of all times: Weinstaphaner Yeast Also the oldest brewery in the world!

I'm sorry I don't know about your springs, what I do know is that your picture makes me very happy to live in Florida! It's almost June man, how many Z days do you get there?
  4. Thanks Jon, that is the same for mine. As it was tighter, I wanted to make sure before I made the adjustment.
  5. Here's a newb question for everyone. I am running a Crane mild street cam in my L24. I found my cam card yesterday and the valve lash specs that are on the card are not the same as the factory hot settings. Which specs are the correct ones to use?

Do you still have the stock cam or have you upgraded? With my crane street cam mine isn't happy below 900-1000.
  7. I just bought the ones that were listed in the classifieds here. Got a great deal compared to Ebay!

DVD sent out today via USPS, you should have it shortly...I would say to enjoy, but you have a good bit of work ahead of you.

It's a beautiful car... but how are you going to cope with going that fast without the smell of exhaust to lull you into a carbon monoxide induced euphoria?

I've got the Just SU's DVD floating around somewhere in my boxes of stuff, I'll bring it to out first "panhandle meeting" or if you need it before then PM your address and I'll send it out to you. You do get mail out there in the boonies don't you?

Chino, Thanks for the info, I'm definitely going to give them a shot. I'm in the process of installing the MSD-6AL and Blaster 2 Coil and wanted to go ahead and get the best wires while I'm at it. Like you, I'll keep the Taylor set as a backup. BTW that is a fantastic looking engine compartment, I'm not to that level yet but the work continues...

Chino, This is interesting as I was just about to order a set of the Taylor's. What made you use these above all others? I also noticed that they will now custom make wires to your specs for free, I may have them cut them to length to run in front of the engine instead of over the top. I always liked the look better but didn't want to try to put the ends on a set of high performance wires myself. Did you use this service or just order the set that they have specified?

My dog... my Z... and someone else's jet that I get paid to fly, all of my favorite things...
  14. I am curious about this myself.

It's about that time of year when everyone wants to get back on the road for sure. I think that the economy has caused a lot of these cars to come into the market from people who have been reluctant to sell previously. I know that is how I bought mine last year, the east coast is harder to find a good Z to start with, and with that comes a higher price tag. I waited until I found an owner who needed to sell a good car and I was ready when he put in out there, I figure that it helped us both out in the end.

Welcome Justin, from another newb... Here is a diagram of the stock fuel system for a 240. You may want to check what pressure your electric pump is putting out, anything over 5 psi will not be helping you 3.5 psi is more ideal. Are you still running both fuel pumps? I'm not sure if the mechanical pump will like receiving fuel under pressure, someone with more experience will have to chime in with that. Carl beat me to it. 240Z Fuel System.pdf
  17. Great idea! It will be nice to have a quick glance to see who's around you.

HybridZ has a good bit of info on running nitrous in the L6, here is one thread that might help: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=129409&highlight=nitrous Daniel

I am going to be removing the set that I have on my 240 and selling them this week. This is the metal (aluminum) set that has two bolted hinges on the the top that allow the whole assembly to tilt up for cleaning the glass. The unit is secured by two allen screws at the bottom against rails that run under the weatherstripping of the rear glass. I will try to take some additional pics tomorrow of the setup.

Here is a link with some good basic information concerning the way to structure your diet without going overboard: http://health.yahoo.com/weightloss-inspirational-stories/lose-30-pounds-in-3-months/mens-health--32787.html The exercise portion should be discussed with your cardiologist to see what level of activity and target heart rates you should be aiming for due to your previous bypass. While 30 pounds in 3 months is not at all impossible, it is definitely something that should be discussed with a physician. Geezer is right too, make this change something for the long haul, we need people like you around for a long time!
  21. I'm 33 and this is the first Z that I have actually owned, though I have coveted many over the years. My father bought a 71 240 brand new after waiting on the list for 3 months. Growing up, and still today, despite all the cars he has owned he still talks about his 240 with special reverence. I have always loved the looks of the S30 and have thoroughly enjoyed working on and driving the one I have now. I foresee many Z's in my future (and my backyard). I look forward to dad's next visit when I get to hand him the keys to the 240 and watch his light up like mine have so many times in the past.

I'm planning on keeping these discs in the back for now due to budgetary constraints. I just read in another post that the MC outputs changed sides from front to rear between the 240's and the 280's. I believe that the PO had switched over to a 280 MC and I have not checked to see if the larger cylinder is indeed going to the front brakes, I assume this could be part of the problem and will checking this next.

Funny you should say that, this was the reason why I pulled them off to begin with. I thought I had some blockage somewhere in one of the lines that was causing the jerkiness. I found that I had very little pedal travel and the brakes were extremely sensitive and grabby when applied. You could press fully on the pedal and the brakes would grab but never enough to lock up, if you needed to stop quickly you would just stomp down and hope for the best. I broke all the lines loose and put low pressure air through each of them with no apparent blockage. Did you have this problem with them when you were running them? What about the parking brake?
