Z-Focused shop in Midwest?
Called ZCar Source per McKrack... agreed looks like a great place for a full frame off resto but 2 years out at $30 to $40K per car. That's a tad rich for my blood.

Z-Focused shop in Midwest?
Steve.... This is a car I found ina storage locker, parked for more than 20 years. (The holy grail of Zs?) I had it trailered to my garage but I have been working on my Triumph convertible instead. I am looking for someone to take her lovingly from me and get her running again (replacing a lot of rubber it looks like) then I can move on to body work. One place that can do both would be nice but not required.

Z-Focused shop in Midwest?
Agreed, I don't want a hack job on it but I thought 12 months was a tad long. Maybe not but I am just starting the investigation so I may be sadly mistaken.

Z-Focused shop in Midwest?
Thanks, I called Ultimate Z... pricing was not outrageous given they could not see the car but timing... give them the car, get it back next Spring... wasn't do-able.

Z-Focused shop in Midwest?
Actually I use the word "shop" loosely... also a gifted hobbyist with garage space is welcome.

Z-Focused shop in Midwest?
I need some hands-on help restoring my 71 Z... Am located in Southern Indiana but willing to get the car a reasonable distance for a reasonable shop, someone who will keep it indoors and do some mechanical and/or body work. Any recommendations? Reasonable prices are welcome too! J

Throwing in the towel; how best to sell
Yes, it's all original... I never tried to start it...afraid too much junk in the fuel system. I started on the interior first because it seemed like something I could work on once in a while and not lose my place.

Throwing in the towel; how best to sell
Hi guys.... You may recall I was off-the-chart excited a couple of years ago when I found a 71 that had been in a storage unit for about 18 years... I dived into the interior a couple of weekends...removed the old carpet and got the floors (solid!) down to bare metal and painted them with POR15 to stop any rust from spreading. Anyway, life happened and I have had little time to even touch the car since. Never touched the rest of the car other than an oil change and to see if the engine rotated with a large wrench. It did. (The other owner simply drove it into the storage unit and parked it, so it ran fine when it was parked but it will need some rubber replacement and hoses and exhaust, etc) before anyone attempts to get it to run.) It has 85,xxx on the odo... california plates, 1987. Anyway, with 8 kids and my career and another sports car (1980 Triumph) I simply don't have time for this. So, my question... Do I put the original interior back (all I removed was the carpet, underlay and the tar and the deteriorating seats) or leave as is for the next owner to continue on? The next owner is going to want to remove the seats and all anyway since the carpet and seat foam is shot. Any selling advice (Ebay?) is appreciated. I know it's hard to tell but can anyone give me some rough estimates of retail value? I am located in far Southern Indiana if that matters. Pics from the day I got it are in my profile thing... I will try to take some new ones. I am beyond sad to admit that I have to give it up but when you don't even touch the car in 12 months it's pretty clear that something has to give. Thanks for any advice. Jim

MSA exhaust
Haven't touched it in a year.... 8 kids and an MBA will do that to you. Back at it though.

MSA exhaust
Thanks for the advice. I am not looking for loud per se

MSA exhaust
Have 71, considering leaving factory manifold alone. Would you guys recommend the MSA "Targa" or "Turbo" for the stock implementation? http://www.zcarparts.com/store/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=PEC

Engine or body first? Indiana area?
Hi all Due to a death in my family i have put off touching my 71 for a while. Trying to get back into it. The background: Literally found in a storage locker, not driven since 1987, California car. Body is okay, little rust. Working on the floorboards with Por-15 for more of a preventative. I am mired with too much to do with this car. Better to get it running and then work on the body or vice versa? Everything in the engine compartment is there, it is just daunting that all of the rubber, etc, is worn out. Every hose, etc. Considering subletting the reconstuction of the engine to an expert in the midwest and therefore not screw it up myself if anyone has any recommendations? I am in southern Indiana. Thoughts? I just feel overwhelmed. Jim

I saw 2 kinda okay z's in a junkyard outside Alicante, Spain the other day. Just driving by but they looked like 72s. Left side of the road on N-301.

Differential?
Howdy. You may remember my car has been parked for 12 years or so. Should I drain the diff or just top it off? Any recommendations for oil to use?

Someone from Australia...HELP
Not wanting to start a war thread here...no doubt we have pissed you guys off in some way....we bombed the Chinese embassy in Yugoslavia remember.... but at least our acts of war are overt....this Wiggles thing has to be some sort of covert plot. I think we already killed Barney...and we're on the way to working on those frigging Teletubbies the UK is trying to cram down our throats.

Someone from Australia...HELP
Okay.... Australia has been a strong ally of America for years. We appreciate the support in the wake of 9/11 and now the Columbia disaster. We forgive you for the Paul Hogan movies (at least the second and third ones) and we love Koalas. But for god's sake, can someone take care of the frigging Wiggles? They are taking over my house!! My three year old won't stop watching them! What is the point of having a 51-inch High-DEF TV if all we can watch in my house is the frigging WIGGLES!!! Who ARE these guys and why are you exporting them to us? Please, feed them to the crocs or something, mates.
