  1. Check out this site. I promise you won't be disappointed. I spent the best part of an hour there. It's worth it. Alfadog, If you pick this up Lachlan, fasten your safety belt. www.bodymodels.com.au Rick.

The bloke who is doing some major cancer surgery and painting for me told me today that 240 Zeds that have had total restorations done bringing the car back to original condition are being exported from the USA to , of all places, JAPAN, where they are paying large sums for the cars. The bloke, (his name is Carl), is not the bulls--t type of bloke and has always been correct in the past. Anyway, Carl is going to let me know which magazine printed the report. I'll get back to you with more detail. Has anyone else heard about this????????? If word gets out it might help to increase the car's value. Rick.

:classic: :classic: Man, that's an old one. When my son was around 18 months old, (he's now 36), I was attracted to the toilet by the sound of loud, childish laughter and the cry of our latest addition to the family, a kitten. Yep, you guessed it, there was my son, ken, dunking the cat in the toilet bowl. Rick.

ROFL Hey there Steve, So you reckon Larrisa is pretty good huh ?????? She'd be about the average on the beaches of Queensland mate. Up here they are on the beaches all year round. Eat your hearts out. Rick. Professional perve.

:disappoin :disappoin :tapemouth :tapemouth WHAT A LET DOWN THAT WAS !!!!!!!! My immediate reaction was "You bloody BEAUTY first the Monaro, now the FJ, maybe the EJ will be next". I was expecting a Holden. Then to be confronted by something that looks like a left over from a Mad Max movie only freshly painted; WELL !!!! Why do 4wd's have to be so damned UGLY???????????????? Rick.
  6. I suspect that it may be a waste of space having all those other areas in Regional discussions. Our Aussie site is certainly the most frequented. Doesn't it make you feel good to think that our American brothers would rather talk to us than anyone else ?????????? S'pose it's better than talking to themselves. Rick.

What would I need to do in order to increase the power to the headlights and run a set of driving lights. I don't want to go as far as a complete wiring harnes upgrade. Recomendations????????????? Rick.

:stupid: :stupid: :stupid: I have always TRIED to drive within the designated speed limit. I started driving at 17 years and I'm pushing 60 now and only been booked ONCE for speeding. Came out of a 80 zone into a 60 zone and 100 metres later there's a boy in blue with his gun. Got me at 68 kph. Now HE was an ASSHOLE. BUT!!!!! The vast majority of cops are decent blokes doing a bloody difficult job with very little assistance and RESPECT from the comunity in general. To my way of thinking, anyone who deliberately speed don't deserve any sympathy. Those who complain the loudest about being booked are probably the ones who DESERVE to be booked. One of our road safety slogans is, "EVERY K OVER IS A KILLER" and it's damned true. You never know when a little kid is going to run out of the driveway. That's my 10 cents worth. Rick.
  10. Hey there Bambikiller, Thought I'd give you a little insight into the Aussie psyche. If we're taking the wizz out of you, you're O.K., safe, thought kindly of, well regarded, in fact, fairly well liked. BUT If we don't ever take the wizz out of you, keep a lookout for Alfa's subs. Rick.

G'Day, I spoke to the local Nissan dealer ref. original paint code for my 260 Z. All they required was the engine number and body numberof the car. Came back to me with the code number which I passed on to the spray painter. He started pressing the magic buttons on his computer, entered the code 301, the computer told him it was Brown metalic and gave him the ingredients required. He did a test panel, perfect match!!!! Don't give up on your local Nissan dealer just yet, you never know WHAT might lay forgotten on a dusty shelf. Rick.

I'd say that the owner could do with a crash course in loads and lashings. Well, the loads part at least. Rick.
  13. Drecord asks why U.S. allies are always behind, never in front. Don't know if you are old enough to remember Viet Nam mate. During that time we might not have been in front of you BUT we were not behind you mate, we were BESIDE you. I was in the first Aussie battallion to go to Viet Nam in '65 and we were attached to the 173rd Airborne as it's third infantry unit. With the poor excuse for a defence force we have in Australia we do the best we can with what we've got. Never fear mate, if the U.N. says "Go For It". we'll be BESIDE you again. Rick.
  14. Bambikiller and 2 ManyZs have given a lot of good advice however, one spot they didn't mention, that I found, was inside the mudguard around the headlight. Rick.

:classic: G'Day SMOKEY, I reckon you'll like this mob as much as I do. Anything you need to know, SOMEONE will give you an answer. Real friendly types. Nearly as nice as us Aussies. Rick. 1974 Bronze 260Z Sports Coupe

I meant to mention that the rubber strips are not actually chrome. The rubber is covered with, (believe it or not ), FOIL. It then has a covering of clear plastic, giving it a Chrome--like appearance. Rick.

:ermm: XYZ and Alfadog, Are you talking about the thin pinstriping tape you can buy in just about any car shop or the chromed rubber strip that goes on the panel behind the seats???????????????????? If it's the chromed rubber strip, you'll find miles of the stuff in any wrecking yard. Just check out the bumper bars and door protectors on modern Datsuns and Toyts. Regards, Rick. 1974 Bronze 260Z Sports Coupe

One thing I meant to mention is that fire crews from New South Wales and, I think, 20 fire trucks and crews from Queensland are rushing to Canberra to help out. Every single one of those fire fighters are bloody heros in my book. Rick.

Thanks for your kind words fellas. The fires are located at the outskirts of Canberra, the National Capital. As of tonight's news, over 400 that's FOUR HUNDRED homes have been lost so far, four people dead, it's a miracle there isn't more. Fires were started by lightning strikes and fanned by strong winds that carried embers for kilometres. Fires are also burning in the Snowy Mountains, in both New South Wales and Victoria. Thanks again for your concern you blokes, it does help to know someone cares. Rick.

Judging by the tail lights, it looks like an early Falcon. Shame it didn't have wings. Rick.
  22. G'Day all, Rick O'Brien, 59 going on 25, Joined the army in '64, married 35 yrs. (she deserves a medal). One son, a psychologist in Brisbane. Keeps trying to use his magic on me but I tell him to go shake his bat's wings, rat tails, chicken legs and other amulets of of his magical arts at someone who'll pay him. Having retired, we now live on the Queensland coast at Yeppoon, about 45 kms from Rockhampton. In november 2000 we were in Brisbane looking for a car to "do up" when my sharp eyed wife noticed a Bronze 260 Z in a car yard as we drove past. Did a Ueee, had a test drive, gave them a cheque for $3,500.00 and drove it home. It's now at the stage where I only have the whine in the diff fixed and she's ready for the paint shop. Rick.
  23. :tapemouth :tapemouth The bloody needle on the bloody fuel gauge slowly bloody fluctuates even when the bloody car is sitting in the bloody garage. Must be bloody electrical says I. Checked the bloody fuse box, all O.K. Cleaned the bloody terminals on the bloody fuel tank, no bloody change. Out with the bloody tester, no bloody power to the bloody tank. Ripped the bloody gauge out of the bloody dash, no bloody power. While I'm bloody well at it, I tear out the bloody clock, no power. Bloody help, PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rick.
