SU carb engine with a L28
Beandip. Thanks for all the info. Your lucky there is no emissions in your state. In my state even though its a 73 it has to be a 68 to have no smog. Suck especially when I had tripple carbs but cause of the info on the SU's Its going to be worry free for me now. Mid grade huh? awesome. I been running high oct cause the tripples are picky. So 54 is the stock needles for these carbs? The carbs im getting is from a l24. Im running a mild cam and a 6 to headers so these carbs are great for the spec I have now. Thanks alot everyone I cant stress enough how you guys are helping me out and really appreciate it

SU carb engine with a L28
Sorry guys I been reading on the SU and I cant seem to find it or didnt recognize it but here is my question. I have a L28 engine on my 73z and I had tripple carbs but Im converting back to SU Will the Su work and if so what do I need to do to make it work for a higher liter engine? Im just tired of tripple weber carbs and they are very sensitive that I keep adjusting. I just want SU now and I dont race so its a waste to even have tripple webers if im just dailing driving it. I like having good gas milage as well and tripples dont do that for me. Thanks everyone for being patient with me and answering my question on this. Really appreciate it

Im just curious and dumb about this question that I like to ask.. Does the L28 engine fit with the SU carb manifold? I know it seems like its the same engine from L26 and L28 but do they bolt up... I really appologize for this question but I need to know

spring for the door
I have a question. The door has a spring and some kinda ridged slots on the lower bracket. Mine broke and is it easy to replace and what do I have to do to install a new stem? I saw one at the junkyard but dont know how ling that is going to last.

My Z story
yeah its really a great car. Honestly I had such a nostalgic feeling being in this car. When I got the fender mirrors I got so many looks. I hopefully can get the rear fairlady wing and the fender flares and I'll be done. What do you have on your car if you dont mind me asking?

My Z story
I always wanted a first generation Z. When I lived in california going to high school for the first year is when I saw it on the road and I really liked it, but as a teen I cant afford anything. Years past by and few Z generations later I finally got one. In the past I had a Z32 and a Z33. When I got my Z32 a year ago It was cool but then I saw a ad on craigslist some guy selling his 240z. I asked him would you like to trade and mine is turbo. Took him 2 weeks to respond and he wondered why? When the time came he ask and I told him I wanted this all my life. Took me awhile to get rid of the things he put on cause its not a classic to me. Took off the MSA full body kit and wing.Got the originall bumpers, put a airdam , bought things that the car was in Japan and cleaned the interior sanded it down. The end result is I finaly got my dream car. I still need to paint it but here it is now. Great car and I love it. I know its not the best or fastest but its a dream car non the less and here she is. Took me 18 year but I have her now.

tripple web carbs hard to start
Yes sorry about that I should be more specific Crank meaning about to start. it turns and then tries to start but then the second time is doesnt just turns. Heres what I have 78Engine distributor with the e12-80 ignition module tripple webers 40dcoe main 130 f11 tubes air 180 50f9 idles 2.00 needle valves 55 bleeds 45 pump new holley fuel pump with regulator msd 6a msd blaster 3coil NGK spark plugs and wires So wouldnt if flood the bowls if I put gas in there when its pumping through already? I notice today when I went to go check the setting on the floats. The rear carb pump is pressed all the way down and not springing up. I can open the butterfly's with the linkage but pressign it down at the pump wont go down. I can pull it up but then falls back down.. Could this be the reason why im having a hard time starting? The floats are set right.
