I guess I missed it when i joined months ago. I actually was only using this site to get rid of my extra engines, but I am interested in how other people are restoring their Z's so I'm looking around here. Here's my z I just got it in april '09, but I just got it running like 3 weeks ago, it set me back like 3.5k, and on my part time minimum wage salary, it'll be a few more weeks before I can do anything else with it. But here's my plan, first thing is to have the rear differential fixed or replaced, which evers cheaper. Right now there's a huge banging noise comming from the rear axel, so I'm afraid to drive it too much. After that I plan to change the rear bumper, side-skirts, and front bumper for those stylish air dams, and getting those fender mirrors. Then a paintjob, thinking metalic grey right now. Then I'll work on the suspension and brakes. Getting Arizona Z suspension, and willwood or brembo or endless brakes, whatever i can find and save up for. Maybe a 5 lug conversion in the process. If I do the 5 lug conversion, I'll also be needing new RIMSSSS. Finally I'll bore out the engine to 3.1 maybe. Then I'll install a Quaife LSD differential. Saving that one for last since I won't really need it at all, just for better handling, expecially saving the $2,000 part for later. It'll probably take 2-4 months to save up the money for each of the phases, but once its done, it'll be frikkin' sweet. I'm motivated to do it. Overall this is probably going to take 1.5-3 years. I'll be sharing/bragging here for your curious eyes.
