How many types of 240z steering Columns covers are there? (LHD and RHD)
In respect of right hand drive (R-Drive) variants of the steering wheel cover I can find, these are as follows: Europe R-Drive: 48470-E4101 to 06/72, 48470-N3200: 07/72 to 07/73, 48470-N3400 (two seater and 2+2): 08/73 to 07/76 and 48470-N3410 from 08/76. Japanese market: 48470-N3402 to 06/78, 48470-N3403 from (presumably) 07/76 on.

Caliper date codes
Just to add to this, there are also some additional numbers stamped, not cast, into both sides of the outside face of the caliper. In the images are NOS left hand and right hand calipers, with both faces shown, along with the date stamped box (which looks like 10th May 1979, albeit the bottom part of the second 9 is missing), for the LH caliper. This does correspond with the "date" number on the caliper face.

Original 280z brake caliper color?
I posted this up before, but cannot find the link to that discussion now! Here is a picture from a 260Z brochure, along with some images of a NOS caliper. The flat grey finish matches between the brochure image and actual part.

fuel tank isolation material
I am not sure about the 280z, as I live in the UK where they were not officially imported, but If your query relates to a 240Z, or 260Z, there were hard rubber pads on the upper face of the tank that acted as a cushion to the body. I found some pictures of a later model tank, but the fundaments are the same with the early tanks. On my RHD fiche, for whatever reason, it does indicate a part number for the two pads at the top part (image DSC02889, below) of the early tank (up to August 1974), which is 17231-E4100, but not the lower two (image DSC02891, below), although they may be the same part number. I can scan and upload the fiche if that helps. The attached images probably best illustrate the pads, and their locations on the tank.

Unicorn Part - 5-Speed 1st Gear Bushing
On the PartSouq website (https://partsouq.com/en/search/search?q=3225314611), a substitute to part 32253-14611 is 32253-V5210.

Radiator drains
The fiche image indicates that the radiator drain plug you need is Nissan part No. 24180-18000 "Handle - Drain ****", and the sealing washer, Nissan part No. 21481-18000 "Packing- Drain ****".

Mystery parts location
I think the bracket below the moustache bar is part "42" in the fiche "Assy protector member transverse link" (part No. ).

240Z brake calipers
Attached are a couple of images of a NOS caliper I have. Also attached is a scanned page from a Datsun 260Z brochure (UK issue), illustrating the front hub, and caliper. As far as I can see the brochure is undated, but the car on the front has an "M" suffix, indicating it was registered between August 1973 and July 1974 (also 1974 is mentioned in the brochure text).

1969-1970 240Z Windshield Thickness
From the US L-Drive fiche, item "9", I assume from the image below "T = 6.0mm" = Thickness = 6.0mm. Same on my R-Drive fiche.

Rain Gutter/Drip Rail Stainless Trim "Clips"
I know that the stainless steel roof trims (see image below) on late model coupes (01/76 on) are fitted with clips (see image below), certainly to part number 73812-N4425 and 73813-N4425, for example. In NOS examples, they are normally contained in a little bag (see image below) as part of the roof trim assembly itself, but not clipped into it (I say normally, as a couple I purchased didn't have them).

6/1971 correct valve cover bolts?
Here are some pictures of part 01121-00061. Correct for an L24 or L26 rocker cover, according to my R-Drive fiche.

Rare and super rare Z - parts pricing! JUST ASK your question here!
I did notice on two of the caps, the ones with the ivory-coloured "Z", that there is a gold ring around perimeter of the iridescent centres. I didn't notice that one cap was upside down, so I am part of the majority, I guess! I had to take a long look at the picture before I saw what you meant, about the "Z" on one cap being inverted. Great spot!

Rare and super rare Z - parts pricing! JUST ASK your question here!
I don't have the specific colour code for the "Black Pearl"-type wheel infills, but here are a couple of pictures of an unused spare. The grey infill colour on the unrestored original appears a lighter shade than the restored wheel in your image. Saying that, as has been noted a number of times on this site, there will inevitably be shade variations between batches of parts from the OEM supplier(s). To prove that point, I have attached a picture of four NOS centre caps I have for the "Black Pearl"-type wheels, albeit with the same part number, but which illustrate significant shade variations on the white/ivory "Z" and the iridescent blue/green background. .

Replacement for the hose that connects the carburetors?
Hi Cooper260z, My factory-stock, 1978, UK 260z has flat tops fitted. In order to track down this hose, you need to determine the part number from the factory fiche. Below is a screenshot from the US L-Drive fiche. I think the hose you are referring to is number "88", which relates to part "16088-N3300". Despite some US/UK carburettor differences, the part number is the same, for this hose. Looking at ebay, there are currently 2No. available from the same seller at: https://www.ebay.com/itm/DATSUN-240Z-260Z-280Z-FAIRLADY-Z-S30-HOSE-CONNECTING-16088-N3300-JDM-SPARES/202722668547?hash=item2f33367003:g:uJMAAOSw4eRdXLqM (ebay item number: 202722668547) If originality is important, then it will be worthwhile asking the seller for an image of the actual part, because sometimes these original braided hoses are substituted for smooth-finished hoses, based on the original part number, where superseded.

Containment
Hi Ian, Great thread idea! Attached are a few examples of "containment", including one from "Pardat", who sold authorized Nissan parts through UK dealerships. I like the red, white and blue boxes the most.

Parts Wanted: WTB License Light Rubber Grommets
I couldn't add any more images to my previous post, so I have uploaded them here. I edited the text too to illustrate the type of grommet I am after, thanks.

Parts Wanted: WTB License Light Rubber Grommets
View Advert WTB License Light Rubber Grommets Hi there, I am looking for 2No. excellent condition license light cable rubber grommets, that sit behind the license light and protect the license light cable as it passes through the metal bodywork into the rear hatch (behind the trim panel). I don't think the part is available OEM new, but I can't seem to find the part number on my fiche anyway. I have a UK car, so the license light configuration is different from US models, but the rubber grommet I am looking for is identical. On UK cars the license light is mounted on the rear bumper (the unit above the license plate does not have bulbs in it), so the cable passes through the lower valance, up alongside the wheel well externally and then in through the hatch floor. Therefore, there are two points where the license light cable passes through the car's body, and hence why I am after 2No, grommets (grommets with holes through them for the cable). The image shows the position of the rubber grommet I am looking for on US cars, but on my car this is a blind grommet, not the type I am looking for. I am looking for the type with a hole through the middle. Thanks for looking. Advertiser jerz Date 03/28/2020 Price Category Parts Wanted Year 1977 Model 260Z coupe

Parts Wanted: WTB Genuine Nissan Weatherstrip (76836-N4500) LH
View Advert WTB Genuine Nissan Weatherstrip (76836-N4500) LH I am looking for a NOS, genuine Nissan quarter window weatherstrip (not aftermarket) for my 1977 260Z coupe. This is part number 76836-N4500, for the left hand side. I know there is a generic Nissan replacement part that fits both sides, but I am not after that, thanks. I am happy to purchase both sides of the handed quarter window weatherstrips as a set, i.e. part 76835-N4500 (although I have that already - see image), along with part 76836-N4500, if preferred. Thanks for looking. Advertiser jerz Date 03/01/2020 Price $250.00 Category Parts Wanted Year 1977 Model 260Z coupe

What’s underneath my steering wheel cover?
Steering wheel rims on later models are finished in hard rubber, like the later model shift knobs. There is a slight difference in the 1977/78 model steering wheel hard rubber rim than earlier type hard rubber rims, in that the former type hard rubber rim has faux "stitching" at the 6 o'clock position, whereas the 1977/78 model does not, I believe (same as on my 1977 UK 260Z, i.e., no faux stitching ).

Brake Line Color or Finish
Evidently, from the photographs, a great deal of work has gone into awakening your car, after years of slumber, but it will be worth it. I think you can safely say that the finish on your brake lines is factory stock, which you will simply have to find a way of replicating. I don't know what the finish to the pipes is, but it is clearly long-lasting, bearing in mind the exposed locations where they are routed, especially under the car. In terms of the air chamber I use for my car, the link is here: https://www.carcoon.com/. Presumably there is something similar in the US available. There are some good videos on YouTube in respect of the advantages of keeping your car maintained in controlled conditions. As I said in an earlier post, I do find that it keeps metal surfaces from corroding, and after being in the chamber since 2002, there is no corrosion on the vulnerable front brake discs on my car.

Brake Line Color or Finish
Amazing that you've only ever driven your car a couple of times in wet, or icy weather. I would never get out of the house eight months of the year, if that was the case with my daily driver! Garages constructed of masonry can allow dampness and condensation to form on, and subsequently harm, metal surfaces, even plated finishes. I keep my car in a "Carcoon" air chamber literally all the time (as it's not been on the road since 2002), which protects from condensation, moisture and sudden temperature changes. As to the color specifications, there are a couple of ways I would go about ensuring the finish on the brake and fuel lines is replicated. The first way would be to take a brake line off your car and get it color-matched, by making up an aerosol spray at a local auto shop, or DIY store. The second way would be to get a hard brake line part number from the L-Drive parts fiche, see if the item is still available, new, then use that as a basis to obtain the exact color-match. I do have a couple of NOS horns that have the olive green finish applied to them, but the photograph (attached) may not be entirely representative of the true color, unfortunately, as it was taken under a fluorescent light. I have taken a picture of the olive green-finished horn next to a NOS brake line, as a comparison. There does appear to be a little color variance but, as I mentioned in my post above, that is to be expected.

Brake Line Color or Finish
Attached are some images of a couple of NOS, OEM Nissan, hard brake lines, for my 1977-built 260Z (UK car), if it helps. There is a little bit of shade variance between the two parts, but that would be expected across items manufactured at different times. I don't know if they salt the roads in the US, but those white specks occur on UK cars when the water evaporates from waterborne road salt. I have seen the olive green colour (color) of your hard brake lines on other Nissan parts of that late 1970's era.

We're bringin' back the Flat Tops!
I love this thread, and am intending to keep the flat tops on my 1977-built, UK-model, 260Z when it is (eventually) restored. In respect of the front calipers, I have a pair of genuine NOS LH and RH ones, where the images below could be used as a reference for people completing stock restorations. They have a matt, grey, finish in stock form, with various green, blue, black and red paint spots daubed at various locations (see images). One of the calipers also has some white paint daubed on the front of the pad. The caliper bolts have black paint daubed on the bolt heads.

Map light bulb for 1977 280z
The 1977 280z has the same map lamp bulb as my (UK) 1977 260z. I am not sure what the bulb-type model reference is, but looking at my UK R-Drive fiche the Nissan part number is 26261-89903 (from 08/73 on), which still appears to be readily available, new.

Headlamp Bucket Diffferences
Thanks to Sean Dezart for three of the images I have posted up here. I am trying to find out the differences between S30 headlamp buckets, so that I can identify part numbers 63116-N4600 (LH) and 63115-N4600 (RH), which are correct for my late 1977 UK-model 260Z coupe. On my R-Drive fiche, these part numbers are correct for European S30 models from 0/76 on. I do know that the black headlamp bucket in the image below is part number 63116-N4700 (LH), with the corresponding right hand side, part number, 63115-N4700. These (N4700 units) are correct for a 8/76 on 280Z, and have a captive nut (ringed in red in the image) to the second hole back from the front. I cannot definitively identify the other three variants part numbers in the images below, which respectively have four (no captive nut), three and two holes in the bottom section of the headlamp bucket. I think these are all metal assemblies. Any help would be appreciated, thank you.
