  1. Thanks again guys for the input. I just bought the Konigs from MSA and they are advertising this wheel to be the correct offset without spacers in a 17x7" wide wheel. I will probably be getting some Bridgestone Potenza RE 760 sport tires in a 225/45 size. Tire rack has them for 135.00 each, and the feedback rating seems good. I am looking for a high performance summer tire and for the money these seem OK. I just wish I could try them out before purchasing them.
  2. Hey Jeff- Where are your tires rubbing? On the struts or the body? Also do you know what your offset is on your wheels? Thanks-
  3. Thanks for the input guys. I was wanting to go slightly taller on the tire profile since I think that my speedometer reading slightly high to begin with ( although I have not cross checked it yet to verify that). The transmission or diff might have been switched out prior to my owning it. Also it sits really low and wish it were an inch or so higher.
  4. Hello all- I just recently purchased as set of 17 x7 Konigs for my S30 Z and would like input on tire size. I would like to put a set of 245/50's on them but not sure if this would clear the stock struts with Tokico springs and shocks, as well as the body itself. Any input would be appreciated. 5. Thanks Phred- Great input, I was planning on doing this myself on a mill, but I think it is overkill at this point. I don't plan on taking the motor over 7500 rpm and already have an aluminum Centerforce flywheel as well. Just looking to reduce the rotational mass as much as possible. My cam will be a 306 duration with .530" lift, so trying to make some power up at top end. Thanks for the input.
  6. In my 3.1L motor that I am building with a V07 crank, I had it lightened by turning down the counterweights (knife-edged) and would like to take it one step further with milling a hole in each of the rod journals. Just curious if anyone here has done this and if so what diameter hole they milled (or drilled). It appears to be possible to do but would require repluging the oil galley hole inside the newly drilled lightening hole. Seems like this could remove quite a bit of material off of the crank. __________________ Scott www.cardomain.com/ride/3154164 3.1L 280Z in progress.
  7. Hey- Will you be at the car show ?
  8. Hey- Painting it myself, I have some experience and have worked part time in a body shop learning the basics. It's not perfect but it looks good enough for me. I think once it is completed I will spray it once last time in a booth to get a perfect match on the whole car.

Hello Rolf- I use to live in Bornheim, Frankfurt, on Allerheilegan Strasse! I left there in 1993 after living in Germany for 5 years. I use to work for Lufthansa.
  10. Hey John- Sounds good about getting together for a show. I will be going up to Myrtle Beach next weekend for that show and there is supposed to be a really nice Z there that I have been wanting to see. Let me know if you are interested. Looks like you have a 240 from your photos. I have lots of misc spare parts from my build ( still in progress ) so if you like give me a call at 607-0058 so I can see your car. Mine is up on jack stands at the moment getting some body work on the back, but is still drivable. Scott
  11. Hey- Beautiful Z. Can't beat red for a sports car, thats for sure.
  12. Thanks for the info- Yeah it took awhile to find an adapter with that bolt pattern diameter and specfic to the Z. I might get a nice wood shifter knob later that says Datsun on it as well. I made the knob that is on there now out of oak and stained it to match the wheel.
  13. Hey- Thanks for the comps. It is a 2008 ford color, it looks good in the sun (if you like green...). It's a blast driving it. I finally got the Mikuni's close to being tuned up, although they are still a little lean on the pilot jets. It sounds unbelivable. Lots of smiles per gallon.
  14. Hey Doug- Some of them are blurry, also if you click on the photo it enlarges it. Thanks for the compliments, I love working on it. Yes, it is a Datsun button, but I am not sure what kind of steering wheel it is. I bought it off of a guy in Japan on Ebay and it came with it. I was pretty happy with that score. Thanks again for the comps.
  15. Hey Will- Yeah, you are correct. It's actually a resto-mod. I love to tinker and change things. I want to drive it around now, it is been a long time and I am ready to get the body finished up.
