2010 Nat'l Z Convention Track Day !!
I agree, but I'm sure there's a good reason why ... that was something the ZCon committee arranged a while back This is one of the details still being arranged... what I do with Asphalt Ventures events in general is I require a pre-EVENT tech/safety inspection. I've got a form similar to most HPDE organizations that you'll need to have completed by a mechanic PRIOR to your arrival at the event.

2010 Nat'l Z Convention Track Day !!
Asphalt Ventures is proud to announce that we will be helping the 2010 National Z Convention run its track day on Sunday, August 1st at Nashville Super Speedway (road course.) We're still working out the details on event format... but you can go ahead and register for the event from the convention website: http://www.zcon2010.com/ At some point (hopefully sooner rather than later) we'll be syncing the ZCon track day registrations onto MotorsportReg.com. Format will be a standard HPDE format... at least two instructed run groups based on experience level with one group for instructors and solo qualified drivers. This will be a high-speed event and safety inspections will be required. In-car instruction and classroom instruction will be provided w/entry. In addition, one of the things I'm trying to get approval for is a run group for roadsters and convertibles. It would certainly help if I had an idea of how many might be interested in that run group. The plan (if we get approval) is to run that group the way Virginia Int'l Raceway runs its convertible group: Paced lapping (faster than parade laps, but not as fast as normal HPDE) Helmets will be required "Leapfrog" system to rotate cars through the line and allow all cars in that group to rotate through the line from back to front The way I'm envisioning it is there would be two track sessions for this group, one in the a.m. just before lunch, another at the end of the day. Drivers in this group would be welcome in the regular DE classroom sessions, and will be able to take hot-lapping rides with instructors during the regular sessions. There would be a group-specific briefing sessions just before each of the roadster sessions to go over the rules and procedures for the group. Again... this isn't set in stone yet, we're still working on approval from the ZCon committee and the track itself, but I would like some ammunition (interest) to take to them. The normal HPDE cost is $150 w/ZCon registration ... Not sure yet what the cost for the Roadster group would be, but it would be significantly less than that. So please post here, or shoot me an email to stacy@asphaltventures.com letting me know how interested you would be in the roadster group (and the regular track day as well.) Thanks!! Here's the course: Here's a video:

Steve... not to take anything away from L.N.A. ('cause he obviously knows what the hell he's doing) ... but since you're in Raleigh, give Rex Deffenbaugh a call at Happy Japs. He is a 240z owner/enthusiasts/racer and will do an excellent job for you. He's in Cary... http://www.happyjaps.com/ BTW... have you been to any of the Triangle Z Club meetings? 1st Thursday of every month, Lonestar Steakhouse in Cary... 7:30ish ... near intersection of Kildair Farm Rd and Cary Parkway

Safety & Driving Seminars
TomoHawk... Sorry I'm just now finding this thread... do you have any links to the ones you mentioned in your first post? If they are indeed 'safety seminars' where participants and organizers get together and learn about and discuss the safety of our sport/hobby/passion... I'd be very interested in finding out where to attend. I got the impression from your 1st post that you know what a 'Driver's Ed' event is and that these appeared to be something different -Stacy

Track Event at VIR Full Course - Feb 15th & 16th
FYI! Over 25% of the cars that have signed up are Z cars! In addition, I already have at least two 350z cars verbally commited as well! This is outstanding since we usually have a hard time getting Zs out on track for some reason. The Full Course configuration really brings people out. Also, I want to reiterate that if we cannot run the event due to inclement Virginia weather, your registration fee WILL be refunded or applied to another event. Please email me if you have any questions!

Triangle Z Club 3rd Annual Cok-Out at the Lake
until
Hey guys - sorry for the short notice - but this Saturday, June 21st, the Triangle Z Club is having its third annual cook-out at the lake. It will be at Harris Lake Park in southern Wake county just south of Apex, NC. Everyone is welcome, especially you new Z owners that may not be aware of the established Z clubs. We're most definately not just about the 'classic' Z cars. We're actually a more performace oriented club, as opposed to the trailer queen or all-show-no-go clubs. We co-host four high-performance driving schools each year at three racetracks throughout the mid-atlantic region. This cookout is to increase awareness of our club. Here are the details: : :Date: Saturday, June 21st 2003 :Time: 11:00 am till 4:00 PM :Location: Harris Lake County Park, New Hill NC Cypress Shelter :Web site: [ www.wakegov.com/locations/harrislake.htm ] :or [ www.triangleZclub.com ] :Caterer: Suttons BBQ Fuquay Varina :Serving Starts @ 12:00 Noon :Menu: BBQ Pork, Hickory Smoked Chicken, Cole Slaw, Baked Beans, Rolls, Hushpuppies and Banana Pudding! :There is no admittance fee to the park, though there will be a $5 per plate charge (free food if you join our club or are already a member). -
