Scarab on Bring A Trailer
As a Scarab owner I can confirm that we do have secret handshakes? No - as mentioned earlier in this topic, a book about Scarab Engineering and some of the remaining cars, will be published in 2019. There’s many myths about Scarab and Mr Morrow, and it’s not many cars left, so we are indeed a exclusive group.

Sumitomo mk63 caliper question.
Thanks for great info. Reason for asking is that i imported Scarab#154 last year, and it have the mk63 calipers. The car was built by Scarab in 79. In SportZ vol3. from 2002 it says that Scarab offered FIA 4 pot calipers, but in the Scarab Parts catalog from 1980 it says only 4 pot calipers. The earlyer brochure I have about Scarab says just performance pads. In the Nissan Sport option list from 71? is the Mk63, and in Nissan Motorspots Schematic catalog, I found the FIA, but either mention Sumitomo or both FIA and MK63. I started to belive that I have miss some info. Thanks for making everything about Sumitomo MK63 very understanding, even for me :-) For info: The car is now accepted as a original Datsun 240Z Scarab V8 by the Nowegian BT(DMV), and I belive it will be the first road legal Scarab in Europe:-) Thanks

Scarab # 154 has left the US
For those who have interest in Scarab I can tell that # 154 has been sold to Norway. I have been told that this is the first " factory " car that has been sold out of the US, but I cant verify that. I`m really looking forward to receive the Scarab in mid oktober, and thanks to David who make this deal happend. Regards from a happy new Scarab owner Rolf Arne

Triple carbs and mild cam, head Q
Thank you for your replyes, I think that " You can't have it all " says pretty much. It seems for me that a medium cam such as .490/280 is where I need to be. I think that option will give me most in both low and high rpm with my set up. The machine shop will take care of rest of it:) Thanks again for your input. rab

OEM Z radio questione
Looking good:) maybe i should keep it. May I ask what the value is for this radio. rab

Triple carbs and mild cam, head Q
Thank you Jon, I guess that a .490/280 cam will need other spring, arms etc. Do you have a input where to find this as a kit other then MSA. With that duration what is the power band as I like it start around 2-2500 rpm Thanks rab ( lost in space feeling)

Triple carbs and mild cam, head Q
I have a L28 from a 83 280ZX for my 240Z. I have triple 45 from Top End Performance with TWM airbox and 3-2 headers in 2" with 3" exhaust in stainless steel. The head is N42 and will be ported to fit in/ out. I am not a " motorhead " and I have read a lot about this but will also try to ask for some advice. My goal with this engine is good power also with low rpm - and the questione is what type of camshaft and spec should I go for. I feel that I am lost in a "technical" jungel with this cam issue:stupid: This car will only be a street car. Thank you for your time rab

OEM Z radio questione

Weight on the axle´s / 240Z
Carl, thanks for your help and interest to share information Rolf Arne
-
Weight on the axle´s / 240Z
Chris! I will contact him, thanks for the tip. I will try to explain it some more, when the Z cars where sold new in Norway they measure the weight on the car and axles and stamp it in the papirs, but the FSM never said anything about weight on the axles. So if you import your car from US as a regular import car you will need these weights from a US spec. If you import your car as a classic car you will not need it. But to be a classic car the car must be totaly original and its not allowed do change anything on the car. Hope this make sence and sorry my simple english:) Rolf Arne
