Need your opinions on fender mirrors
I feel the same way! Some days I think I'll put them on my car and other days not. I would really like to sit in someones car that has them to see how they look from the drivers seat. I think then I'd know for sure either way. Where did you get your mirrors and how is the quality?

Let's Paint it Yellow
My 77 is original Sunburst yellow. I thought about changing the color when I first got it. The more I looked at the color, the more I liked it! I began noticing the yellow cars on the road and saw alot that I didn't care for. Certain shades don't appeal to me. I have three shades on my short list right now. 2005 Nissan350z paint code E33. Very nice yellow with a touch of pearl in it. 2009 Chevy Cobalt SS , and my personal favorite so far, 2010 Dodge Challenger Detonator Yellow! Can't wait to see your choice! Someone here posted this pic of a yellow Z that I liked so much I saved it as my desktop! Was it you?

Engine paint From Classic Datsun Motorsports
Reading this I wondered, Is the air cleaner and the engine block the same color on FI cars? The air cleaner on my 77 looks very light compared to the pictures posted here. Just curious.

Fuel Tank
As far as I know, no one makes tanks for Z's anymore. Had a severe rust issue in mine and searched high and low for a new tank without any luck. Took it to a local radiator shop to have it repaired. In your case, you may have to search out a quality used one. Let us know what you find!

Compression Help
Opening the throttle wide open allows the engine to draw in air unrestricted and develop max compression. If no air can be drawn in, no compression can build in the cylinder.

10 vehicle + 1 240Z freeway pileup
Man! Can't believe how close that Z is tothe barrier. If it was me, I would have been shaking like a leaf. Seems like after it is all over is when it really sets in. Your mind goes thru all the could have beens, then you get really shook up. Glad to see you drove away. Will. Sorry to hear of the loss close to you. Your story brought a tears to my eyes just thinking of that devasted family. I lived thru a similiar story a few years ago and would never wish that pain upon anyone. Hope you can remain strong and give strength to those without. Chris

Penetrating Oil Research
I've used PB for the last several years and have been amazed sometimes at how good it is. I'm going to try some Kroil since many here say it is better. Looking at the numbers, it's hard to believe that something could be nearly ten times better. Definately going to try ATF and nail polish remover just to see if it works. What do ya think?

Fuel Pressure 26PSI
You are right Stephen that you haven't read this anywhere. In fact, I didn't either. Wise old mechanic shared it with me and has proven to me to be a good test of the fuel pressure regulator. I'll share with you what was shared with me. If it proves to be faulty or incorrect, my apologies. Ok here's what I believe to be true. The FPR maintains the correct pressure by controlling the amount of fuel that is returned to the tank. Spring pressure against the diaphragm in the FPR completely blocks off the return line when the pressure is lower than regulated. As fuel pressure increases to 36 psi in this case, the pressure overcomes the spring and fuel is allowed to return. In this way, a constant pressure in maintained. When we pinch the return line, this confirms that the pump is indeed capable of producing more than enough pressure to overcome spring pressure. If the fuel pressure is really low, then the spring must be slightly weak allowing fuel to return to the tank when it shouldn't. I hope I'm being helpful here and not giving incorrect or incomplete info.

what is Nissan coming to??
I don't quite like the styling of the Cube but it seems new models always take a while to grow on me. Took one for a drive last week and was very impressed with the room in there. I could definately see taking it on a road trip! The Cube is based on the Sentra platform and drives and performs similiarly. I've heard that it will be going all electric in the very near future. Can't wait to drive that one!

Weekend Z experience
Man! Reading your story gave me goose bumps and took me back to my first drive in a GTR. I'm a GTR certified tech and was lucky enough to drive the first one we ever got. You just can't imagine how hard this car accelerates until you drive one.The technology in the powertrain is amazing. Enough about that. What I really need is the exact location of this "warehouse";) Thanks for posting the cool pics. Looks like a really cool place.
