Hello everyone, can anyone tell me if the fron suspension components of a '75 280 will fit my '74 260? a couple of '75s have shown up at my local pick a part and thet seem to have good parts in them, I habe already gotten some interior parts off of them, but would like to get parts from the suspension.

I am also changing the hub bearings, and packing them with fresh synthetic grease, I did not want to have a major tear down later due to worn out bearings.
  4. What a great outing of enthusiasts, had a great time with Fred and his wife! I must admit that I was hesitant to go at first, but change my mind; good thing consiring I only had to drive a few miles compared to a couple who drove from Sacramento!

Welcome and great job on keeping your car in such great shape! how did you manage to only put those few miles on it? I have a '98 Altima with almost 190!
  6. and congrats! the car looks good, was you uncle the original owner? it is always great to hear of well taken care of cars!

I am lucky to work in the aerospace industry, my shop has all the tools for bearing assembly, like a hydraulic press, and I only used dry ice to aid in the process, I really hate to bang things out with a hammer.

Great job, I am in the process of rebuilding the front brakes on my 260 as well; however I thought about taking pictures too late, I am only rebuilding/repalcing the bearings on the hub, I did not even think of rebuilding the calipers, but now I will keep them and rebuild them later. Great job!

but the best b-day gift ever found by my significant other! although not a 240 but a 260 rather, the car had sat in the original owner's garage for at least the last 12-15 years! the car has a rough interior, but the exterior and engine compartment are 100% original and well preserved, it is my first Z, and very lucky, proud and greatfull to own it!

Hi Evan, welcome to the club, and congrats on your daily driver, I don't think that I will ever make mine a daily driver, too risky, specially here in So Cal. Anyhow please post some pictures so we can see your car.

Wow guys , my idea of a garage is not what tou guys have shown so far! No pictures but in my garage I have: 1998 Ninja 600 with 10k miles 1998 Nissan Altima with 180k miles 2005 Chevy Trailblazer with 60K miles and 1974 260Z with unknown mileage! I guess it is not too empty, but I am looking for a couple of part cars, so I guess I will have to expand then!
  13. the paint on all those parts look great, I am in the process of doing the same thing; however I am just using black podwer coating for all the painted surfaces. I cannot wait to try them after I am done. I just finished the rebuild on the back brakes of my 260, but decided to keep the drums for now:beer:
  14. I agree, I would consider a small warehouse!
  15. I totally agree, I am looking for the 2WD version myself, defenetely my favorite style of Nissan truck!

hello all, will the seats of a 240Z fit my 260Z? I saw a set at my local pick up part, however they're from a 240Z, they still need to be upholstered, but even then, they look better than the ones I have.

welcome to this site, and good luck with your project! This is a great site for advise and network. I have been meaning to go treasure hunting around your area, since I live in Pomona, it would not be too far. Do you have any local pick up a parts/junkyards in your area? keep us posted on your progress, and post pics as soon as you can!
  18. How about rebuilding the old one! the PO always used windshield washer fluid, good thing, because to my surprise the pump is still in working condition ('74 260 Z) but I had thought about taking it appart and servicing it anyway.
  19. Growing up with Datsuns, what a treat that must have been! welcome to the site, and let's see some pictures of your car!
  20. Hi there Bill, I just noticed our names are the same, I guess we both had the same idea
  21. Not trying to outdo anyone, but I found a dimond ring in an old Z at the junkyard!!! Made for a nice gift I must admit.
  22. Hi Kevin: I have the same wheel on my 260, which the original owner stated to be a dealer option. I also have the same "A" on my center caps, and I have alway thought that these were American Racing rims!
  23. Congratulations! from the pics I can this that this lady stands a good chance of you resurecting it!!! just keep us posted and keep the pictures coming.
  24. looks great Ace! It's good to see another 260 owner, check out my photos, my car is almost as good as yours on the outside, but my interior needs major work, and the 35 year old pint still holding up.

I can not believe I missed this one! I always watch this show and I was waiting for a Z to pop up. This one looks great, and makes me wonder how many more original low mile Z's are out there.
