  1. I had a similar problem when I installed a GM 100 amp alternator in my 77 Z. I would recomend checking for power at the fuse box, you have two rows of fuses, see if all the systems not working are on the same bank. I found the fix for mine just down streem from the alternator. When i put in the higher amperage alt. it found the weakest link in the wiring (and beleve me there are a few) and overloaded the system. My engine would actually shut down when my electric fan turned on. Start with the fuse box and work your way out of the cab. If you need more help, let me know.

Hey, thanks for the props. You know how it is, i pour allot of myself (and my hard earned cash) into this old girl. But man, is it a payback when you get out into some good windy roads! I have included a pic from the front, kinda looking down at it. If you want I can pull it out and get some better pics of the body kit. I like the look of the MSA stage 2 (what I have) kinda moderns things up a bit. I allways disliked the big crash bumpers. The install kinda sucked, lots of triming and filling, so be ready. And yes, they are real Einkie's I love the big aluminum ring around the outside. Thats what it had on it when I bought it, and oter then Panasports, there the only rim for me. Thanks again for the welcome and the props!

Hey Supraman, I just did all this on my Z. When I removed the EFI stuff, there is a black (I think) plug under the grivers side dash. What i did to get it going at first was jump power from the switched 12V wire to the power in for the pump (on the same plug). Check out your wiring diagram for pin location. What I did as a permanent fix is what you are saying, I have a fuse box I installed to run my ignition system, electric fan, and fuel pump directly off my battery bolted to the firewall. I am running a 20A fuse to a lighted switch in the console to a relay in the back (which the PO installed to a keyed fuel cut off switch) which then runs power down to the pump. All my parts (switch, relay, ect) where allready there, so all it cost me was the Carter low press fuel pump from Ebay, my trusty multimeter and about two hours of my time. I can send you some pics of my set-up if you want. BTW im running an Arizona Z set up with a Carter 4 BBL...same idea.

I have been the proud owner for over 13 years, so I have a little experence with it. It is currentley in the final stage of restoration, down to just the body work and paint. It has a fresh 77 block, flat top N/A pistons, P90 head, Arizona Z 4BBl intake, Carter AFB carb, headers, 2.25 exhaust,Crane Cams ignition Hi-6R with TRC, last part is a MSA stage 3 cam, just waiting on the springs. Suspension is mostly stock with poly bushings, has a MSA stage 3 body kit, all new stock (other then NEX seats) interior. I look forward to helping others, and im sure receving help as well. THANKS!!

Hey, im new to this site but have been over at HybridZ for a while. I have an E12-80 dizzy for sale if you are interested. It has the vacuum advance removed and no cap or rotor, but other then that is in perfect shape. I cleaned it up for a project I had, but ended up just using my stock dizzy with a Crane ignition.
