  1. My first check would be fuel filters.
  2. Nice, ITBs are a dream of mine as well. However, in the meantime... somehow I've wound up with three complete sets of triple Webers...
  3. That doesn't sound right, shipping is supposed to be included in the price.
  4. No problem. Interesting. I'm running H22 hypojets and am planning to downsize to H18 or H20 soon. However, this is a stock-cam L24. I'm building a mild L28 for my other Z and will be using 45s, so sounds like the H28 would be the size to get. Awesome to see others trying out and experiencing Keith's jetting.
  5. DOT3 and DOT4 are compatible.
  6. LeonV

    Dale Mfg.

Tony D praised them in the past.
  7. Huh... I don't know that... Ahhhhhh!
  8. I've got 2 40th anniversaries coming up: September and next February. We'll have to celebrate.
  9. I'm using a Champion 2-row with a stock plastic clutch fan, no shroud. Cools great, even in 100deg+ weather. This is precisely why I stayed with the stock fan after considering e-fans. It cools better and doesn't add any extra circuitry or stress on the (already weak) charging system.
  10. FWIW, it's the other way around. Your rears will tend to lock before the fronts in the dry more so than the wet. There is less weight transfer in the wet (less grip), thus the rear axle is more loaded and less likely to lock prematurely.
  11. You know you want to Zedy... Still haven't cleaned up my wiring...
  12. I think that's because Canadians are a little slow, ey? I have no idea why that would be Captain, nor do I plan to put any more research into it.
  13. I'm sure they're fine for regular driving but the Ziex 912 is an all-season tire and its diameter at that size is about 1.5" smaller than stock. I just wish there were summer performance tires available in 14" with a diameter of at least 24.5" but I don't see that happening any time soon, if ever.
  14. Have you checked valve lash just to be sure it's a carb problem? By cleaning and resealing the carbs and intake, you could've revealed some issues that were masked before.
  15. FYI, Nissan spec'd smaller plug gaps for the L28E. 1972 FSM: .031"-.035" 1975-76 FSM: .028"-.031" The plug gap didn't open up until the ZX came out, but projected tip plugs were once again spec'd by Nissan at that point. I'm no spark plug engineer, but wider plug gaps have nothing to do with it. I'd imagine projected tips would be useful for both self-cleaning of the plug as well as lighting off the mixture deeper into the combustion chamber, slightly shortening flame travel.
  16. Better emissions purposes? All the -11 designation means is that the plugs are gapped to .044". http://www.ngksparkplugs.com/techinfo/spark_plugs/partnumberkey.pdf My '75-'76 FSM specs B6ES with a .028"-.031" gap.
  17. Sweet, nice work!!! It's a shame we can't get properly sized high performance tires in 14" anymore, without going to essentially race rubber.
  18. Man, looks like I've been using the wrong tires...
  19. To paraphrase Tony D: the 280ZX's main purpose was to be a driveline parts donor for S30s.
  20. It might be good to note that many Z's don't have idler arm bushings as they utilize a rack-and-pinion steering system (instead of recirculating ball).
  21. Good point. If my hair is close enough to the fan to be dangerous, I've got bigger things to worry about. Avoid loose-fitting clothing and anything with draw strings as well.
