  1. Mike, here are some pics. One is an old, worn emblem and the other is new. I should probably clean them... Looks like it's injected into the part after the emblem itself has been made. I don't have any experience in making something like this though.
  2. Ah, I recognize that first one. I believe that's Jim's car (JCan on HBZ). He found a thermostat online somewhere and adapted it to his manifold so that he could keep the loop functional.
  3. Looks to be in good shape! Probably needs a good going-over but that's a nice start. BTW, if the last photo was supposed to show a patch, I don't see it. Looks stock to me, but it's hard to tell from the pic.

  5. Those are Minilites or copies thereof. All US 240Zs came with steel wheels+wheel covers from the factory. Yours are aftermarket, whether dealer add-on or not.
  6. While there may be less stiction with PU than rubber, it's still there. I prefer to torque the suspension laden, no settling period necessary.

  8. You know, I don't think I've taken any good ones, just progress pics. I'll take some tonight. For now, here's a progress pic showing the syncronization of the trigger wheel to the engine (sensor offset).
  9. Thanks Rob, I agree that the crank-trigger is itself reliable. My work, however, may not be! I have full confidence at this point, I've done thousands of miles on it without a hiccup (knock on wood). The distributor is in there just for fun at this point. Also, I haven't bothered to buy or make a block-off for it.
  10. There's an idea! I love it when people ask me how the car runs "without plug wires" (I've left the distributor in as backup, haven't used it yet).
  11. Also, non-hub centric wheels (i.e. lug centric) typically require a shanked lug nut.
  12. I saw the same one on a Chevy Turbo Sprint that I was parked next to at a car show.
  13. Thanks Chas. They really help freshen up the back end (insert joke here). The old ones were faded and peeling, so I definitely appreciate having clean, shiny ones in there! Everybody knows shiny stuff makes you go faster. I think my exhaust tips add about 25hp.
  14. My tail light trim came out pretty nice. I've yet to do the green car, but will install them once I re-paint the surrounds.
  15. Lots of S2000-swapped cars too. I loved the 1UZ Celica! It was so well executed and was a sleeper for sure. The gold and black 240Z has it's brake and clutch masters under the windshield cowl. Pretty ingenious! Lots of work went into that Z, I saw it at the ZONC show last year. It also had a nice side-exhaust setup (floor was modified for ground clearance). Darius' Z was amazing (black one)! I couldn't stop staring at it. There were so many cool, unique cars at the show. I really enjoyed speaking with various owners and seeing their personality in the car. Ingenuity and cool stories go a long way!
  16. Saw a nice silver 240Z with black rear spoiler on the Golden Gate Bridge yesterday around 3pm!

  19. Cool stuff! Is the flange able to be 90deg to the air path though? Wouldn't you need a sharp corner at the ID on the flange end? I don't see how spinning can achieve that, unless you guys are doing something clever.
  20. It's not like it's that difficult. Nobody is asking anyone to head to the library and list through archives of text. We're all sitting on our arse, typing on a keyboard. Type it into Google and there it is, no scanning through 40-year-old documents necessary. Again, it's not difficult...
  21. Interesting... How is the mounting flange incorporated? Welding? That's what I was forseeing: welding on a mounting flange, drilling holes for mounting and for the center airway. The airway hole seems tricky (fixture and milling, or just grind it out by hand?).
  22. I didn't take very many, I'm sure there will be some coverage on this, especially from JNC. Here are a few shots... Managed to cram this stuff in the Z Early morning, just after I showed up Nice examples of a Roadster and 510 Ooh, orange-y! Mmm, tasty. BAR-approved S2000 engine swap into Corolla There were so many awesome cars there. I took the time to check them out and talk to owners instead of taking photos. All in all, it was an awesome day at the Marina. What you see here is maybe 1/3 of the show.
