  1. Go get them Greg I hope the weather cooperates. With the moderated field and speeds getting around the back markers may be very interesting this year (as seen in FP race) fastest dont always win the race. Not having any experience it would appear with a track this long and the speeds involved there could be a lot of action esp if the weather get involved.

Group 1 is pre war to hard to try to classiy all the old cars(to few left)a F1 and a Lemans prototype GT may show up so rather than try to classify each they just put them all together irregardless of performance. Group 8 is used mostly to showcase a marc or type (ie. all BRE cars or all Mclarens ect.) again many diff performance levals so just run together. These two groups are less about raceing and just getting the cars out to strut their stuff.

Under section 5.d.4.d of GCR you are not allowed to modify bering carrier (level 2 prep:rolleyes) specifly mentioned 9.1.5.E.2.o.5 (the section you mentioned) This negates the afore mentioned. But the part in question is offically called by NISSAN a stub axle (and implies part of the drive line)therefore you should be able to modify or sub it (axles are free in GCR) as long as it fits the unmodifed housing. We were considering going to a 5 lug system (lot more choices of wheels and stronger) which would be ok for the rears but not for the front hubs (could not change bearing carriers) so were stuck with the 4 bolt system.

Car came with 2 nismo DDs op#2 one of which Sam N custom geared, I also have a op #2 DD from an old GT2 car I had in 80s, I am in the process of puting this one in car along with new clutch which I toasted at the Robeling school in Feb. (want to save the custom box for Nat racing). Sam and Doug made one sweet car, fast and well sorted, was turning 1.24s with no clutch just put it in 5th and drove. This from an old fart with no experience (in other word you could put a trained monkey in and go fast :stupid:) The car is very forgiving and as Greg I. can tell you Sam is the man with these motors. I was not even pushing it and could pass at will. I am looking foward to finding the limits of the car(just very carefully/slowly)

I noted Greg looks like he is running a diff wheels than last year? In the top pict looks like Panos then in others looks like Volks. We have Panos and were thinking of upgrading to the Volks, any feedback on this???

That is the plan. If I have any skills that is (have not done any racing in 20+ years). This year we are running regionals to get experience and sort the car. If my times are competetive then next year plan to run a limited National sched.

I heard Greg might be trying out some new suspension that Sam made sound like its working! He looks like its hooked up good. A lot of new record were set this weekend. They have worked on the track and from what I have heard most were very happy about it. Appearently the cars were hooking up so well several people broke parts in the driveline/suspension.

I recently bought Doug Piners EP 240z and am going racing! I am looking for any old picts of the car both in blue and yellow paint scheme Doug did not have any I have found a few out there but am trying to build an album of the car for posterity. It was the blue or yellow num 00 car (still blue but now num 08). Also if anyone has picts of the car when it was an ITS car (I think it ran if FL mostly as no 08). Thanks
