How to attach Rear Panel and Lights
Well I am unable to find those parts. Does anyone know of a supplier or an alternative to using those rivets. I found the rivets for the 240z, but it is a different part number than the 280z. Please let me know of supplier or alternative mounting methods. (the car is getting close to looking like a car again). Thanks for the help Jeff

How to attach Rear Panel and Lights
Hey, I did not take apart the shell that I am working on. I have a 77 280Z and need to know what parts and how to install the rear light panel. I have read that I need some plastic rivets, but is there a plastic or metal strip that goes above the rivets along the area where the rear hatch closes down? Where can I find those rivets? Are there any other acceptable alternatives to using the rivets? Please advise this inexperienced new-be. Thank you. Body work is done and trying to reassemble. I have a good assembly book, but it is for a 240Z and I am unsure of the differences for attaching the rear panel. I also looked at the CD, but was unsure if anything other than the rivets are needed. Jeff

280Z front fenders
I am look for front fenders for my 1977.5 280Z. I ordered some replacement fenders from Black Dragon and they are better than the destroyed originals that I had, but they are still not in good shape. Does anyone know of a good source for front fenders? Thank you Jeff

Unknown cutout on S30 Body
Thanks for the quick explanations. I think it is funny that there are more than a few changes to the different body styles without a pronounced definitive explanation on the purpose of the change. I really think you guys are probably correct with the idea of the exhaust fumes. The later model also has the big bumpers that hide the cutout completely. I will be doing a 240z bumper, hence the question. It is such a luxury to have a vast knowledge base for about any question. Thanks again Jeff

FutoFab - experiences/reviews
Hey I am looking at adding a BRE spook to my 280Z. Yes a little different. I am a little concerned of what it may look like, but either way I am considering buying one and trying it from a group called Futo Fab. Does anyone know anything about them? Does anyone have any experience with their work? I have contacted them and seems ok, but I wanted to check with all of you that have years of experiences. I wanted a nice quality carbon fiber front spook and MSA and showcars have had some not so positive reviews. Please let me know anything you can about them. The price seems good and here is the link of their work on a 510 spook spoiler: http://datsun510.com/photopost/showgallery.php?cat=3559 Link sent by one of the employees there. FutoFab, LLC 199 Stark Hwy So Dunbarton, NH 03046-4411 I am waiting to get the picture of what their BRE spook front spoiler looks like since I have seen 3 different versions from 2 of the 3 vendors I have found. Thanks Jeff If this is a really bad idea to try a spook on a 280Z please let me know also. Admins let me know if there is a problem with anything or adding a link that I recieved via email. I'll be happy to make edits as needed.

Hey from TN
I am in the middle of a very large and seeming infinitly costing 280Z restomod. I was given a 280Z from my fathers best friend (kind of like another father to me) and wanted me to apreciate it since he loved the car so much. I am media blasting and replacing everything (pretty much) so that it can become my daily driver. LS1, T56, Q45 rear diff.... If I was going to use this car all the time, there was only 1 shop that could work on an original datsun in Memphis and everyone can work on an LS1. That is how this project is continually growing. I will love to drive and take car of the car when and if it ever gets finished. Looking for advice and just to learn from many that have more experience and understanding about Zs. I am never selling the car so it will be my money pit happily for the rest of my life. Jeff
