Only a few of the pan bolt holes in L series blocks are blind, so a helicoil isnt going to work in most of them. Better just to drill and tap those to 8 or TIG and redrill. . .

ZXP Adaptor buyers, Please read and respond!!!
I hate to sell out the 720 crowd like this, but since I'm in the Z crowd too now, I guess I have to. The 720 trucks (my '84 at least) already come with an FP relay exactly like you guys are wanting. It won't turn on without an alternator signal. They should be in good shape, because every one I've ever seen got bypassed when somebody replaced the FP and didn't realize how the relay worked. They assumed it was bad when it didn't start up at RUN, and ran a wire direct to the IGN fuse. They may be in a lot of other early eighties carbed Nissans, but I've never looked into it, plus the cars were mostly FI by then. . . 25 degrees this morning. Yup, perfect day for a drive
No, we can drive our cars ALL year down here, and I assure you, that is MUCH sweeter. Sometimes I just don't understand you polar bears at all . . . . ;-)

Replaced HVAC vacuum lines
Do yourself a favor and pull a vacuum for at least 30 minutes, and check the leakdown for at least an hour afterwards. Freon is not cheap enough to waste anymore.

! BBQ has been 1 of my secret weapons for years! Engine parts, sideview mirrors, everything! It only sucks if you get a can that looks a little brownish, or is too shiny. There oughtta be like a basic car riggers box, that has BBQ paint, black duct tape, brasso, grey, black, and red Permatex(silicone brand in US), charcoal lighter fluid, WD40, and a hammer and a torch.
