  1. Been watching since it started.
  2. I installed an airtex right where the old mechanical pump was. Works great...no need for a fuel pressure regulator.
  3. Until he receives enough negative feedback then he will continue to sell through ebay. It's not just him that sell things at a higher price with sub part service. People will list hard to find items or post fancy pictures with the last four nissan part numbers covered so you cannot go buy the part from the dealer itself. Some people post nos parts that are still available from the dealership while again hiding the part numbers. It's a sneaky game and unfortunately it makes it harder for people like myself to just sell datsun parts and throw up some average looking pictures. I guess I should start posting all my parts next to fake nos nissan boxes and datsun flags then jack my priced up 10 fold haha Oh btw...I hate auto correct...I went to college..I'm just too lazy to figure out how to turn this $^!# off.
  4. I realized I needed to remove the shifter rod pin on the tail shaft. But when I removed the circlip it went flying. The other tricky maneuver was trying not to destroy the oil gutter in the process. Does anyone know where I can get a new one?
  5. I feel like an idiot. But I forgot how to install the tail shaft on the transmission assembly. The fork doesn't have enough space to move over the selector forks. Any tips? I'm not a transmission rebuilder...but I have done a few.

No. I have nos and the still don't park all the way.
  7. Prices has undoubtedly swelled. You can't find a mostly complete 240z anymore under 5k. They're all "projects" which in my mind means too much money. I bought my 71 for 1400 7 years ago mostly complete and running ok with rust included. I probably spent 2 times that buying nos parts and fixing it up to the way I want it and I still need rust repairs.
  8. Wood drys out overtime. Maybe that's why it's smaller? My friend has a 73 with an original shifter and small like that one. The part number for your new one is also the same as my most recent nissan shift knob.
  9. Interesting. ..can anyone confirm? As far as the decal...I did see one floating around ebay. I don't remember the price as it was long ago.
  10. Hey Z community members. There is a 280z local at my junkyard with low miles. I did go and harvest parts I thought were worth pulling. If anyone needs anything I'm willing to go back and pull some more reasonably sized parts. I'd rather see parts go to someone who needs them then the car get crushed and wasted. You can check the prices on picknpulls website in portland oregon south and see the vehicle. All I'll need is a couple gallons of gas and maybe 10-20 bucks for my time.
  11. I never knew u could use viniger for water spots. Thanks bonzi
  12. Oh yes the cops...protectors of our community. Sorry for your luck and your denial of freedoms that we lack in some places of this country. It just makes me mad they can't just leave a guy alone who is doing something honest.
  13. you would get pretty impatient if your goal was to mess up glass with cerium oxide. As I said before mixing it with a polish will work great for what your doing. Removing pits and ripples would require something stronger.
  14. The nissan reproduction is going for 150+ on ebay right now. As far as the NOS. There's nothing to compare to so it's hard to put a price on it. I know I saw a decent used NOS knob go for 80. When you can't find the part anywhere online it's really up to how much ppl are willing to pay...Sometimes people get attached to their collection (I'm one of them) and when you list a part for whatever reason the price can go up just because you know you'll probably never find one again
  15. So I got heckled on e-bay while selling my NOS kick plates because of the prices that I listed. And I'm not sure if anyone on here found my ebay store. But I do sell OEM used NOS and reproduction parts. This isn't a post to solicit my store but it is just an example of the differences between NOS and Nissan reproduced. Anytime I list NOS parts and sell them, I am at a loss as far as finding that particular part again. I list NOS parts to keep them available to the public and to help the community. This is just an example of a shift knob. One that is NOS and one that is Nissan reproduction. From the parts numbers you can see they aren't the same. Take a look at the size and color, you can see NOS is a tan while the reproduced part is a very dark almost petrified wood look. The biggest difference is the weight. The Nissan reproduction is very light compared to the NOS part. There is no noticeable difference in the bottom portion. In the end tho this should clear up any concerns of quality between NOS and reproduction. In most cases for the everyday driver the rreproduced parts are just fine. But if your doing a correct restoration there's no way around the price of genuine nissan old stock in most cases. I'll post more examples of other items I have later on.
  16. Cerium oxide is the best way to clean glass. You can buy it anywhere online. I would recommend using it with a polish.
  17. Pressurize that cylinder where the valve prpblem was. If that valve holds up there then it's not leaking and your fine. If it leaks air your valve is bent. A little tap on the piston is fine as long as the valve still seals. No need to look with a camera or anything if the valve is sealing.....
  18. Setting ignition timing a couple degrees before knock makes the most power
  19. Gas is just under 2 dollars where I live. I don't care where my oil comes from as long as it's cheap. Opec or not. Doesn't matter.
  20. Hey guys I've decided to list my last pair of used kick plates on ebay at no reserve incase someone needs a decent used set. I'm local I'm in portland oregon. There is two 4.11 diffs at my local picknpull that I can pull off a 720 4x4 if anyone wants one. They are front diffs so miles are probably under 10k. They charge about 120 bucks for each diff. Pay me whatever you feel it's worth for me pulling the part. Just trying to help the z community.
  21. Right now nissan of America only has a few gas caps left. So anyone that needs them better get it now. I believe you can still buy the kick plates at nissan but they no longer say datsun on them which isn't period correct for the purist.
  22. Problem is people buy the whole stock when they discover theres only a few left at nissan. Then they turn around and sell it ridiculously high. I have a small stock of parts. If I dont see any for sale or on ebay I have to assume the part I'm selling I can't replace so it forces me to bring in a price. For example. ..nissan was selling 4 speed shifter knobs for 75 bucks. Now they're well over 170 bucks...When I buy stuff from the dealer I usually buy a few to keep me stocked.
  23. I should have asked a little more. Ebay charged me a whopping 38 dollars for fees plus paypal was 12. Then I paid 20 for shipping . Hopefully they went to a good home. My car will never be worthy of such a rare new part. Sadly enough..
  24. I just sold my pair on ebay for 349 shipped. PayPal charges a lot of fees though damn. But my set sold in about 3hrs
