  1. Thanx for sharing. Probably the best thing you did............ KEEPING THE CAR & LETTING THE EX GO!. YOU GO GIRL!
  2. I think I will use my 3.7K towards a 3.1 Stroker but like you said it's all relative
  3. 3.7K for a brand new car...........Unheard of these days. Today 3.7K buys you a bucket of................!
  4. Very nice story, but you left out the most intriguing part of the story.......You never told us if you "Found paradise by the dashboard light" all those years ago? Weeeeeeeeee!
  5. How does one............FIND.......3 cars like this. Please give us your secret!

Post a pic, I am looking for both doors. Mine was built in 6/70. I made the mistake years ago of mounting two doors from a much later model and have not been able to get them to fit properly not knowing there was so much variation in sizes.
  7. Love the clean look with the tires completely under the car. Nice color too!
  8. What are Dads for?.............Can you say BONDING?
  9. Nice J-man And a nice place to go for a drive! Just remember that pit lane speed limit
  10. I would hope whomever gets this does an in person purchase to avoid losing lots of cash. Nice car though wherever it is. Never understood the purpose of soooooo much work just to sell it. Seems a shame almost.
  11. Yes but it just my own personalization.

I still can't get over how many of these cars sit in storage or someone's garage for umpteen plus years. The driving experience is a reason to have one I think. There again either you are old enough to appreciate one or too old to deal with it. 18K is probably a good price though and not too much to get the issues sorted. HAPPY DRIVING new owner.

The dashboard comes out in about 30 minutes without breaking anything. There is a thread in the archives on this site. Pull the steering wheel, take off the stalks so as not to break one, undo the bolts at the base of the windshield, it sits on an "L" shaped bracket at either side of the car. An extra pair of hands is helpful getting it out. If you have to disconnect wires just wrap masking tape around it and tag it alphabetically. It looks imposing but it isn't really. Most of us here have done it at least once. REMEMBER.....Finesse not muscle. Works everything. Good luck.
  16. Nice job with everything so far. Don't worry about the gas tank. It will be under the car. A coat or two of rubberized undercoat on the bottom side and leading edges will mitigate debris doing thrown up by the tires though. The big box hardware stores sell a one sided adhesive that goes onto the tank straps perfectly. Cushion is needed so vibration won't allow them to lathe through the tank over time. Good luck.
  17. It is WORTH what you are willing to pay for it. But to answer your question in dollars the bidding will stay south 50K. The auction fees and probably a reserve on it will get it in that range. I have a problem how some people ask, "What is it worth" If a vehicle like this falls into your possession in is really PRICELESS. Instead of asking what is it worth, as yourself, "What am I willing to pay" Good luck with the bid you probably have 50K50K hidden in the bedroom mattress!

Nice find take care of it. The brake issue will prove to be no big goal but change the shoes and pads before doing any driving. Good Luck and get it moved ASAP

I had the same issue with a 77. The ECU for your car is behind a kick panel on the drivers side footwell. Disconnect it and try to gently clean the connecting pins. It turns out that the actual male and female ends get compromised after a while due to dust and vibration. They were not the best but they were top of the line then. I finally took the largest zip tie I could find to hold the two ends together. But I fought with the fusible link also until another Z enthusiast told me about ECU location. Good luck.

Check the local salvage yards and the classified ads on this site. Many cars are beyond repairable with good parts still attached maybe even a fuel tank. Call Zcar Atlanta (678) 823-8528. They will have one in Stock and will ship. Good luck.
  21. An electric fan kit comes with a shroud! Thus no need for this part.
  22. The 240 what can I say......not enough accolades great car to drive when sorted properly. The 280ZX nice car has all the bells and whistles. I have an early 70 and a 72. I have owned the ZX coupes and 2+2. They are not lemons but the later models are a bit more complicated with the modernization of the vehicle. They can both be everyday drivers when looked after. Stay away from NISSAN dealers if at all possible. Most of the techs are so young they don't even know what a carburetor is for or how it is used. Whatever you buy LEARN TO WORK ON IT. You will never be able to pay shop fees. Good Luck

I see the car has California plates on it. If you are nearby the Los Angeles area call or go by ZXPERTS in Venice on Lincoln Avenue. Richard Keebler is the owner and they can straighten it out for you. It is probably NOT a single issue and they will know what to look for..
