  1. Hey KELLY MISS this is not the place to advertise your cheap leftover flea market crap. Take that BULL**** somewhere else to try and pawn it off.
  2. If they were only sold in 16X7 diameter and width. Really nice though.

GRANNY I have my rack out of the car and have restored it and I have a grease valve where I believe you are referring to. Maybe cars that came to Canada had some other type of cover over the fitting. Grease valves come in a few different sizes but not very many. If you remove the plastic/rubber material and the openning is machined then it can be replaced with a grease valve that will allow grease to be injected. Good Luck.
  4. On my first restore project I didn't even bother putting mine back in the job was such a PITA. But I have some ideas for the project I'm working on now. Isopropyl alcohol is a very good lubricant. We used it at a former employer and it made rubber and metal surfaces that had to be fitted together a breeze. A generous dousing may actually let the trim slide the entire length in one direction and then use MADKAW'S technique to get it to respond in the other direction. I will post results. I am really looking forward to doing the job actually. Also this time I plan to do it before the trim actually gets applied to the car. Another thing about alcohol for those planning this job. YOU DON'T HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT GETTING WATER SOMEWHERE THAT WILL CAUSE CANCER DOWN THE ROAD!!
  5. Regardless of what you take leave the stress behind and enjoy looking out at the road rushing under your wheel...............Sound familiar?

VERY NICE JOB. Wouldn't it be cool if we all lived in the same town?
  7. DITTO TLORBER. But if you use the car often the finish will have to have constant attention to keep the appearance. I am working on a few paint schemes for mine. A misaligned door will never let them be pristine.
  8. I had the set on my AVATAR chromed back in 2000. When i got them back I masked the outside surface and sprayed rubberized undercoating on the inside to protect against future cancer. To this date the outside finish remains as it was back in 2000 and the inside finish has no rust. Finind good bumperettes that can be removed without breaking the mounting stud is more of a problem than a good quality finish on the outside. I live in central Florida on the Atlantic ocean where the humidity and salt air even eats the roadways up. SPACECOAST PLATING (Melbourne Florida) are a reputable outfit. Expect at least 6 to 8 weeks turnaround time. My 2 cents
  9. Posted by COZYE in February 2011 I just ordered these bumpers from the Harrington Group http://www.groupharrington.com/en and they arrived Friday. Total time from order to arrival was 7 days. The communication from the sales guy (Thy) was super. There is a time difference as they are based in the UK and manufacture out of Thailand, however when I sent an email I had a reply the very next morning. The bumpers normally come like stock 240 bumpers with the rubbers installed and with the front license plate bracket, however I requested no rubbers, no holes, and no brackets. This was no problem and they indicated that they do custom request all the time. Anyway, I was very pleased with the bumpers. I've tested fitted them quickly and they will work perfectly. They are down in the basement now awaiting the completion of my bodywork, so I figured I would post up my review and pics of the bumpers. The light down there is pretty low so the pics arent the greatest, but they turned out great and the quality is good. They are very straight, no waves, and polished to a mirror finish.

SKILL It can all be fixed. If you are any good with a welder and metal shaping or you are willing to pay a professional to fix it for you. If you don't do something though eventually it will rust completely through and fall off the car. The passenger side cancer is more than likely due to an unsecure battery and the original unsealed type of battery that was common when these cars fisrt hit the street. The unsealed battery emitted gas that rusted through everything on that side of the car including the firewall and floorboard.(See Project 3/72) In addition the area underneath the fenders was not treated with anything to prevent corrosion and these cars were shipped from Yokohama on top of ships getting a nice salt bath for the duration of the trip from Japan. Some cars had rust on them before they were even sold. But it CAN BE FIXED. It's up to you if you want it to be (probably ghetto, but hidden) , your words not mine. Project 3/72 WON'T be GHETTO and it will all be fixed with no future issues. If it turns out to be GHETTO that is probably where you live!

I really like the wheel also, but same as you I prefer a 16X7. If we get enough inquiries maybe they could be persuaded to build a 16".

Very nice color. Are you able to use it much in the Utah winter?
  14. Alain de Cadenet.....There you go ZED. Ilike the way Europeans spell "CARBURETTORS"
  15. 6DRIVER http://www.panasport.com/index.html Zedyone_Kenobi just put a set of the VTO's on his rig a couple weeks ago. He actually posted the pics here on the site. It's a really nice looking wheel. There have been some inquiries about the availability of a 16X7

Yes I agree with STANLEY. For the money and effort spent he could have built a really nice DATSUN. Chances are he bought the car as is and the thrill is gone or the wry grins he gets as he drives around are beginning to get the best of him. Anyway I don't believe in buying someone elses project. DATSUN or NOT
  17. Nice work H-Way. As well I too am a lime green owner, well at least the interior is. You are going to love the way it feels when you are finished.
  18. That looks Soooooooooooooooooooo CooooooooooooooooooL!
  19. Nice job GRNSKY.I know it is difficult in the heat. I sandblasted my entire rig in the Florida summer. Keep forging ahead. Good luck!

I live in Florida and I can do without A/C if it does not cause other temperature issues. Personally I don't feel that A/C and carburettors work very well in uunison. But to each his own. In addition to the heat issue here the power drain I could do without.

Tank removal is cut and dry. If you are having an issue with residue blocking the passage it is better to take the tank off and have it professionally cleaned. It is a process that should have you back on the road inside of a week.

OER 47mm's Purchased from Pierce Manifold complete
  23. esmit208 replied to CW240Z's post in a topic in Open Discussions
Having said all that the current day OER carburettors used to manufactured by the SK corporation (JAPANESE). I have a set of 47's and have done much research. The people at ZCC.JDM can tell you a little bit about them as well. On to the car, I'm not much for buying somone elses project unless you welcome lots of work and not to mention headaches. It is also not adviseable to have a race car operating on the street because you are going to drive it like a race car, only thing is many others around you won't be driving like that. Buy the engine from this car and nothing else unless you want to stockpile the few remaining factory parts that may be left. Cutting some of the remaining body panels away wouldn't be a bad idea either. Otherwise approach this car with caution. The carbs are worth something because they can be brought back up to good operating condition. A closer inspection would reveal their size.
  24. Call or contact someone that builds professionally. Dave Rebello will actually talk to you on the phone himself. You seem to have a good handle on the right direction but need help technically. Good luck.

Enjoy. Hope to be there in years to come. Was at indy in 2001 and the infamous year of the 6 car race. Had a great time.
