  1. I am on the verge of installing a set of SK/OER triples, however I am not positive the ACCELERATOR TORSION SHAFT that was used with the SU's will be the correct length to interface with the SK's. Can someone using this type of carburettor chime in on this and point me in the right direction. I considered converting to a cable assembly, which could still happen down the road, but for now I would prefer to begin with the linkage. Any help would be appreciated, THANX!
  2. I have a set of SK's and like Mr. Purcell said the fitting that came off the factory intake screwed right in to the SK intake. To be sure stop into your local Ace Hardware and find the matching bolt be it metric or standard and then you will know for sure what you need. BTW you have to have the intake with you. Good luck. SK's have a JDM intake though so I was happy but not surprised that it fit.
  3. ULTIMATELY.........They are worth what one is willing to pay!

Welcome young man and congratulations. If you should ever be blessed enough to have your own children don't forget what goes into being a DAD, at least sometimes. And no it's not about material things but more about what your children mean to you. If you ever paint it PLEASE have them paint over the Pegasus! Enjoy the experience!
  5. I share your opinion and still working on mine after12 years. And the beat goes on

May be a good time to open up the passenger side of the heater box and examine the heater core itself. I believe the valve connects directly to the core itself and both may be ready for some TLC. This will also give you a chance to have a look at the inside of the box.

DITTO. They fold up and separate as well. Really TACKY
  9. TOOLBOX. Before buying and if you are able to find shops in your area that focus on Nissan, preferrably 240Z. I say this becuase often they have cars on liens or just cars that were partiall used for parts. I found mine at Redondo Beach Z World on a mechanics lien. Was not running but it was complete, all knobs , switchs, etc. 2K and he got it running for me. Another specialist in the Los Angeles ZXPERTS located in Venice may have a car or two and ZCAR GARAGE in San Jose could be another option. Cars found in places like this will more than likely be projects also but maybe you can get some initial repairs as a part of the purchase price and get it up in the air for a thorough inspection underneath. Good luck.

Changing the color.....YES HAVE WHAT YOU WANT......It sounds like the prep work will make the final product satisfactory. Gettng those old layers of paint and filler off is the best thing. You get to see all the factory imperfections and they get straightened out properly. When it is completely stripped take a good look at the rear wheel arches. These were problem areas because of the sandwich effect and the sealer that was used to join the 2 pieces 50 years ago. It shrunk over time and allowed wet debris to get trapped. Changing the color over another color can sometimes yield undsireable results. Somewhat like blending two colors to get a final color. Good luck post pics of the media process.
  11. Yes I saw the episode. The SOUND that you refer is accentated because of the lack of an interior. The sound resonates more through the vehicle in addition to more vibration. Nice car still not a fan of flares, they make the car look TOO Hot Wheels............ish
  12. For better pictures and video search YOUTUBE for OS Giken. You won't be disappointed!
  13. Your local weather channel broadcasts the current barometric pressure (altimeter) during the local weather. They present it in INCHES OF MERCURY.......29.96......29.94....etc...etc. This setting is very important in aviation. Without it a pilot will not know his correct altitude.
  14. This thread has been a wealth of great knowledge and great research. I hate to say developemment because the only developement being done is developing a smoother and more responsive engine. I find this thread interesting because before school lets out for the summer the plan is to install the SK 47mm triples on mine. This is actually the first thread where someone even remotely mentioned barometric pressure and density altitude in the testing, which are two very important calculations that should not be overloooked during testing of this type. Maybe this could be a factor with inconsistent readings. BLODI if your software will allow you to insert the current local altimeter setting before your next pull. Having done a road trip across the Rock Mtns with the SU's, the effect high elevation and thin air was drastic, almost to the point of causing starting difficulties and then the effect was reversed and performance returned the closer I got to Los Angeles, (sea level). Perhaps without the correct local barometer you are tuning IN & OUT of the window. JUST A THOUGHT. I had no idea what my baseline would be and your testing has narrowed the window for me. THANX, keep up the good work. In
  15. Beautiful powerplant, by far I think it is THE BEST S30 conversion albeit quite expensive. Watch the YOUTUBE video Office Tomitaku. These guys put a chain driven cylinder head in a RHD S30. The gear driven unit probably lowers the stress level at high RPM and gives more HP and even more response if that is possible .txt
  16. Would have been difficult to sell, the manual gear box conversions are simple. I hope you don't miss the experience.
  17. WAAAAAYYYYY COOOOOL! .... I got chills just watching it.....I agree a driving school would be a great investment! GREAT STUFF

I too am where you are in many ways, children, wife, job (not my own business) but requires me being there. Like yourself the imagination keeps me going. I have often imagined rolling up at Spa Francorchamps or The Circuit De La Sarthe in mine with one of my sons. Stories like yours inspire me to keep forging ahead with mine although being able to afford ZCAR Garage is off the table for me. Good luck keep us updated.
  19. Agree wholeheartedly. Not very much frontal crash structure out side of the engine. Replacements panels will come at a premium. Oh yeah, go through the brake system from front to rear. Don't skimp.

ZBERT Some things to consider when building an engine 1. Displacement 2.Carburetted or fuel injected 3. L6 or some of the popular swaps These are several important things I didn't comsider when I had mine rebuit in 1996. Many popular performance modificatioms I had no knowledge of. But after years of reading I have a clear picture of what I want for my next unit which I plan to build on my own. In 1996 I paid someone 3.6K to assemble one for me. But now I have the knowledge and confidence, not to mention a wealth of fellow enthusiast ready to help and a clear vision of what I want. There are many mix and match combinations that you will be quite satisfied with but develope a vision of what you want first. A nice streetable but powerful engine seems to be the perfect compromise. A clear vision will actually save money because you won't have to go back and modify your modifications. Good luck, the job looks pretty cool to this point!
  21. A few useable bumper pieces looks like. A plating shop can make it look like it just came from Yokohama!
  22. TESTIMONIAL........I couldn't be more satisfied with your upgrade. Thanx for setting the record straight. Good to see you here again.
