  1. It looks like a Junk yard near Las vegas has a wrecked 73 and they are listing parts on eBay from it. I would think they would sell parts from it to a walk in customer. Saves them fees and shipping charges. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1973-Datsun-240Z-OEM-Center-Console-For-Parts-or-Repair-Complete-as-Shown/292547237616?hash=item441d2c96f0:g:E48AAOSw0SJa6gd8&vxp=mtr#viTabs_0
  2. Good thing I did not go all the way up there. Kind of looks like they got it that way. Hard to say. They just run the VIN and post whatever it comes back as. They never tell you anything about the cars, just "come and look" Thanks for the update.
  3. Thanks Zed Head, I have seen interest in the turbo parts, Exhaust manifold, down pipe, J tube etc. I did not know of the CAS parts, but see how they can have value. I would just pick them to flip to some other Z person that needed them. I don't think I will have the time to go up to Lynnwood. Over 130 miles one way. Just thought if someone was closer and had the means to grab that stuff......I expect those parts wont last long, if they are even still there.
  4. http://row52.com/Vehicle/Index/JN1CZ04S2BX279348 I little far for me, Just thought I would share. It landed 4/17
  5. Hard to say when the pic's were taken, right after it was painted I would guess. Is that an overspray line on the shock tower and on the air inlet duct. Lends credit to it being a hurry type paint job, for the flip. Quite possible. NWDE plate frame, they are out of Portland, I just checked their site it looks like it has not been updated since 2016. Are they still a club?
  6. https://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/d/1970-datsun-240zor-offer/6558803251.html Unknown VIN, but aside from a few minor issues this looks like a worthy survivor. Seem all the notoriorty in these cars lately, is not only bringing them out but also raising the price bar.
  7. I worked for a towing company and a wrecking yard. I have seen that too. On this car, the engine is not in the cabin. The steering wheel is not bent. and the windshield while broken, does not look like somebody hit it. My opinion is the seat belt saved them with some probable injuries. I do understand the trauma of seeing the ones that did not make it though. Makes me queasy too.
  8. Why bad karma Zed? The rear end might have been hit first and spun the car into a tree/power pole?. Bad time and place maybe. Black ice? Gravel in a turn? Drunk driver, this car or the other? Distracted driver, texting? Fell asleep at the wheel? Etc? Good karma for the cars that get repaired from this one. Sad that B&R are the ones that have it. I found this 240 at a local yard that was rear ended. Did he stop in a bad spot? Did he pull out in front of someone? Was he just rear ended at a stop? who knows? Great parts for cheap as I5 wreckers, B&R bought the yard and the car went into the restricted yard. Price hike!! I see I did forget the link. It is on eBay for selling the starter motor for $65 https://www.ebay.com/itm/Starter-Motor-Fits-70-73-240Z-9731704/232736455386?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131017132637%26meid%3D601c8b2426ee4b5d91061c9fc9e44e83%26pid%3D100033%26rk%3D3%26rkt%3D8%26sd%3D332622363051%26itm%3D232736455386&_trksid=p2045573.c100033.m2042
  9. Perhaps a transition car Jim, or one that has had some changes along the way. Not enough detail pic's in the ad. It would be nice to get the VIN. I saw the spilt carpet in back, later tool compartments? later carpet? The dash looks to have a 73 hazard switch, with the lighter above? The whole ad seems strange.
  10. OUCH.....Spendy B&R auto wrecking has a 280. Just a little South of Eugene OR.
  11. CO, Site, I will switch the thread back to the OP's topic........ @240260280 Brake parts are on the way. I have not shipped to CN in a while, boy the rates have gone up. Oh well my contribution to the build. Tracking number is CH40634338US. Let me know when you've got them, should be about a week. I can't remember if there were line clips down the tunnel or not. Motor and trans are still in there and hard to see. If you end up still missing something let me know and I will help out again. For the other topic here, I think those are 2X4's not 2X6's. I will still use my big blocks, thank you. I'll pass on the giant lego's
  12. https://seattle.craigslist.org/oly/cto/d/1971-datson-240z/6562920922.html While he has trouble spelling the name of the car he's had for 20 years. He also thinks it is a 5/70 for some reason. 5/71 would be my guess. He admits some rust and other issues.
  13. Coming out of the barns now..... https://portland.craigslist.org/clk/cto/d/classic-datsun-240z/6562287172.html I like the "original interior in excellent shape", especially the chrome arm rest and painted white headliner.
  14. I used this technique before, just when I get to my final height I put in bigger solid blocks for stability. A large beam I cut some pieces from. I am not sure I would want to be under there with it just being on the 2X4's. I suppose that is a personal choice.
  15. Seems to be a popular price to ask. At least this one looks a bit nicer than the last two. https://seattle.craigslist.org/sno/cto/d/z-4-speed-manual/6562004029.html
  16. I am parting a 73, I just went and looked at the fuel/brake clips and they are a bit rusted. Not sure if you want to use them on such a nice looking car. Just thought I would offer them up. The proportioning valve is there too (the fire wall one?) and will also need some clean up.
  17. This looks to have been sitting outside for the last 17 years or so "sitting since the early 2000's" I imagine the floors and tire tub have some holes. Do the bumper guards on the rear look like they are too close together? Not even centered to the license plate really, maybe just the angle. It does look like it would have all it's parts intact for the year. No inside pic's though.
  18. In WA they give you new plates every 7 years, To keep the reflectivity up for the Police to read your plate at night. More important that the VIN number matches right? and that it is in the sellers name.

Not mine, Looks like $8000 is the new $800 https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/cto/d/1970-datsun-240z-early-vin/6559962232.html The seller even suggests it could be worth $100K when restored.
  20. You can always ask for the moon, and then come down to reality.
  21. While it is a nice looking car, It is now posted on eBay at BIN $38,000 (OBO) https://www.ebay.com/itm/Z-Series/183174614455?hash=item2aa60ecdb7:g:dDUAAOSwwz5azpV8&vxp=mtr With a recent car going for $31,000 on BAT, maybe the Z cars are gaining notoriity.
  22. Right?!?.......same here!

Looks like it is at a dealership so you know the price will be high. Price not listed. Nicely done car though, lots more pic's in the ad. https://portland.craigslist.org/wsc/ctd/d/pristine-1972-datsun-240z/6556618462.html
