  4. The windows out of my early 260 parts car look like they are a bluish tint, and the ones in my 73 240 parts car are more of a grayish tint. At least thats how it looks to me, it could be the lighting too. Both are identical in size and bolt pattern though. Both are Nissan windows. 73 on the left 74 on the right in the pic. I don't have any from a 280 so I have no info there.
  5. Only $1900 OBO on OfferUp https://offerupnow.com/item/detail/211252266/1973-datsun-240z-4-speed-all-original

    Not my sale. https://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/5968375544.html
  7. Not my sale, I do not know the seller. Just popped up last night Interesting that it is posted in the Tacoma, WA listings, but the title of the ad says (oregon) https://seattle.craigslist.org/tac/cto/5959983575.html

Is that the one in Tacoma on CL? I sold one for $250 that needed to be rebuilt, so I'd say thats fair.
  9. Silver and rust, yep. It is no longer posted. I checked the ad every now and then to see if anything had been added to the sold list, but it never changed. Some peeps just think they have gold, when it is really just gilded rust.

Nice find, a much better end to a story that could have led to a few bucks to the junkyard for scrap.
  12. I have seen this sellers ads before as well. I tried to contact him through CL but never got a reply. Normally he has a picture of a row on nice looking Z's and says he is selling restoration parts.
  13. This is what I have, the top one is from the early 74 260Z and the bottom from the 73 240Z.
  14. I should have that piece. I am parting a 73 240Z, and a 74 260Z. both with flat tops. I will look for it, and check the length this afternoon when home from work. TZ
  15. Double post
  16. z boy mn, Your post looks to be a quote from me, but the content seems to be your own post. Did you try and quote me then retype your post into the quote? It just looks odd, and now members are contacting me looking to buy your springs. Perhaps you can edit your post and take the quote out and place your text in as your own, to eliminate the confusion. Thanks TZ
  17. She actually, Lt Rebecca McGraw. here was the next reply after I pretended to play along and see where it went. I dropped it after this one. She also sent me this link to Photobucket. http://s36.photobucket.com/user/reDatsun240z/library/?sort=3&page=1 looks great for $4K. The transaction will be made thru eBay Motors, because they offer 5 days inspection period. You'll have 5 days to inspect, test and drive the car before deciding to keep it or not. If the vehicle is not like I described, a military trailer will take the car back on my expense and you will get a full refund. eBay Motors will keep safe the funds until you receive the car with all the papers work. Only after you confirm them that you wanna keep the car they will release me the funds. In this way, you will be able to inspect the vehicle before committing to buy it. If you want to start the transaction with eBay Motors just reply me with your full name and your shipping address, they will contact you with further instructions(terms, buyer protection coverage, invoice for the purchase). Also, i can set the transaction for only $2000 refundable deposit to eBay Motors and the remaining balance after your inspection. Best Regards
  18. That one was for sale in Washington state too. Attached Ad and email the scammer sent me. Be Aware!!!!! Bay Motors does not conduct financial transactions outside of eBay. 1973 DATSUN 240Z 34k 2.4L.pdf I am a LT of USAF and I was transferred to Hickam AFB in HI for a 5 years period and because they cant ship all my cars here i am asking only $4,000 for this one. My Datsun is garaged at the Logistic Department at Fairchild AFB ready to go. No rust, garage kept,no accidents, clear title under my name. The shipping will be free for you because I will transport the car using a military trailer. The financial part will be managed by eBay Motors, which means you will have a 5 days inspection period BEFORE committing to buy my car. In this way we are covered during the steps of this transaction. Pics : http://s36.photobucket.com/user/reDatsun240z/library/
  19. Thanks James, glad those are holding up for you. Those came off the first parts car I picked up not more the 10 miles from me, A 72 just sitting out in a front yard. I have been through at least 6 cars since then. I have never been out looking for top dollar. I pick up cars on the cheap, keep some parts for myself and offer the rest up for Z enthusiasts like yourself (CL if I remember right) and this forum for a fair price. They are getting harder to find though. I also have to be wary of people like the guy in Graham, so I have passed on a few cars for just for that reason. Thanks for the vote of confidence.
  20. Wow Jim that is a horrible story. I saw this guys ads on OfferUp and there was a sketchy look, sound and feel to them. he claimed to have a 70 and a 72 for sale but I never contacted him. Sounds like a good thing I didn't. Sad but true that there are some people out there just to rip you off. I wonder how many others got the same treatment. He had listed the two cars I mentioned on eBay as well, and another 70 for $15K. I suspect they are all POS's and the buyers got scamed. If I remember right S30Driver got his bumpers from me a while back when he was in WA, and was pleased with them. I have two other sets of bumpers right now (70 and 73), that are not perfect, but would offer them up if you want to go that route. S30 has some good suggestions too. I don't post things like that on eBay because of the shipping cost. I normally list the bigger stuff locally on CL or OU. I would take more care in the disassembly of course. The smaller the box the better the shipping rate. I do have a saws-all too for the best rate.
  21. Hi 87mj, Not to suggest this is your only solution, but it might be one to consider. I would think if you had a weakened spring, the fix would not be to just install a taller isolator as you would still have a weak spring in there. Prone to bottoming or complete failure. I would put in new (old) springs, and struts as well if they were still original too. Just my opinion by what you describe. I have a set of stock springs from an early 74 260Z (vin 20xxx) which were the 240 style suspension set up. The springs are listed separately in the carpartsmanual.com parts list as late 73 to early 74. There is some mention of a ratio but that part is cut off on the website. I would expect these to be a little higher spring rate than the earlier cars as the overall weight of the car was going up through the years. I have not seen any specifics for spring rates in my searches but it should be out there somewhere. Perhaps it would work out for you. I am sure others might have suggestions too. TZ
  22. Yeah it is a shame to see the early ones get parted out, but at least the parts live on in other Z's. Not just a hunk of metal at the crusher.

Not my car, I do not know the seller. Ran across this ad last night. Before he had a price for the whole car, and the rare items sold. I tried to work a deal but we did not come to terms, oh well. I was too late for the rare parts and he wanted too much for the remainder, at least for me. https://seattle.craigslist.org/see/cto/5896774637.html
