'77 Fuel Problems
I will try this method and see if the ignition cuts before the engine dies. When the engine is cold, I can drive the car and even rev it up to 5000 rpm with no problem. It's smooth. Then after 4 or 5 minutes when the car warms up, I can see the fuel pressure drops and when I give it a quick gas, the engine still dies, It won't go back to normal. Fuel pressure still goes down. I will call and ask the autoparts store if they can check the ICM. I researched about the symptoms of this module and it is almost the same problem on the car. This ICM thing is about $189 in the store.

'77 Fuel Problems
I did pinch the hose in the FPR. The gauge did not move at all. It seems impossible that the line is clogged because i recently replace all the old hoses in the rear and the inside of the tank is immaculate. no rust at all. The car starts fine when the engine is cold, no vibration steady 30 psi. But when it starts to warm up and give it a gas, The Gauge reading goes all the way down and dies. What about the Ignition Control Module? I have heard that those things get hot. Can Autoparts store check these if they are in good condition?

Thanks for the huge info. I will open this FSM once i get home and see what could be the problem. I will check the gauge or get a new one since it's not that expensive anyway. I'll keep updating...

'77 Fuel Problems
Thanks for the info. I only have the FSM from the 78. I did replace a new pump already. The Pressure reads 30 psi. As soon as I rev the engine, the needle fluctuates. I tried removing the vacuum hose of the fuel pressure regulator, and the pressure remains the same 30 psi. So far, It has a new fuel filter and new fuel pump. I will try and return the fuel pump and get a new one. probably a bad pump? Should I suppose to get around 36 psi constant when on idle? Thanks.

'77 Fuel Problems
:)I need help regarding this problem that I have on my car. Car is currrently stock. This morning when I start the car, it started fine, until the car warms up and when I drove it, the car suddenly stalled. I was thinking that the fuel filter is clogged/ dirty. So I replaced it and still doing the same thing. So then I inserted a fuel pressure gauge. When running, the reading is around 34 psi. In the OFF position, the reading is 19 psi. I checked the TPS and it seems ok. so as the AFM it opens freely. What seems to be the problem? Does the Fuel Pressure Regulator gives this problem? Car shuts off if you push the pedal and sometimes turns off when on idle. I attached a video so it is easier for you guys to tell what seems to be the culprit. Thanks so much in advance.

Need some invice on my 78 280z..
I don't know if anyone have this issue on my 77. Whenever I start the car first thing in the morning while the engine is cold, the rpm drops below 500 and shuts off. Then I have to start again. This happens 2 or 3 times until the engine warms up. Then while at cruising speed, Car sometimes stall at 4th or 5 gear. Then I need to change to a lower gear able to start the engine back up. The car has no problem revving past 4k or any rpm at all. I may check the TPS and see if the it's the problem.

Recomendation on tire size for my new XXRs.
studioti, Nice car. 225/45 is great but i think I'm going with 225/50/16. Now, like what Gary in NJ say that the steering will be heavy. the stock 195/70/14 that I have is already hard to turn. i need power steering. hehe..

I am purchasing a set of 513's too with 16x8. would a 215/50 won't rub on the front? I want to see your Z if you are going with the 513 set up with that 215/50 size.

Fixing your Z clock
Thanks ron. I read that post right now. I didn't know about the denatured alcohol. I will try and clean that up and remove the oil. If it won't fix the problem. I still have an extra one. I will definitely send these to you and have them fix since I have heard alot of members here about you. Thanks for the help.

Fixing your Z clock
I just got a Quartz clock. The clock is working but it's not reading accurately. At first, the clock falls behind all the time. Then sometimes it gets stuck. After searching in the forum, I did try and lube the clock. Now it worked, but the problem I am having now is that the clock is now in reading fast. I can't find any screw inside the clock that can be adjusted from Slow to Fast. Is there any solution how to accurately adjust the Quartz clock? Thanks

Tokico strut and spring kit.
how is the fit on the eibach springs? Im about to purchase a set of tokico springs and struts, and saw this problem. I also heard about the tokico springs, they tend to coil bound? I've read some articles at hybridz. Does anyone also have these problem? If the tokico springs are bad, then I may get the tokico struts and match it with eibach springs.

Doesn't run past idle!!
i checked the vacuum lines, they are all intact. I did not check the fuel injectors yet. I went to the gas station to fill some gas and hopefully will clear out the problem. I bought a fuel filter and I will install it tomorrow. and il probably go buy seafoam to clean the injectors. I will post again if this solves the problem. Thanks

I recently have the same problem on my 77 280z (stock) today. car does not go past 2000rpm. it idles fine but after reving it past 2000, the engine hesitates and jerks when I drive it. I can't figure out what was the problem. Here is a video that I took. Thanks http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0O301Dl6WwA

Since my Z clock failed.......
cool mod. that's even better. still looks stock. hows the time on that? is it off? or just about the same as the stock? I will try and remove the face and use the stock face and see if the time is the same. by the way, i like the battery holder.
