240z upgrades
I just got a 240z about 8 months ago during the summer. I put a l28 in and it has something like 36k original miles. I am only a Junior in High school and of coarse I have to think all the possibilities of the car. I'm sure some people know of the manga called "Wangan Midnight". I don't plan to put those fender flares, but someday with either this car or another 240z if i get one in the future I would like to bore out the engine to 3.1 and add a twin turbo. I doubt i'll have the skills for awhile to even remotely do any of the work all i've learned so far is taking off fuel injection and adding carbs and small stuff but how much would something like that cost including a roll cage and strut bars and anything to prevent the car from being destroyed from intense warping?

Distributor configuration
yeah I took off the fuel injection from the engine and bolted on the SUs from the original l24. so yeah i guess the distributer isn't the biggest thing i need help on cause i'm pretty sure i've got that all right but if anyone could help at al with starting the car cause I have everything hooked up. I tested the starter the alternator, and but new oil, radiator fluid, and everything should run but still the engine wont fire.

Distributor configuration
I've got 72 240z that i bought about 7 months ago. I put in an l28 from a 280z with about 50,000 original miles and so everything is hooked up and I've been dieing to get this thing running seeing as it's my first car, but the thing wont start. even spraying gasoline into the carbs and sucking fuel up from the take isn't working. I still haven't tuned the engine yet so that could be a problem, but the one thing i'm not 100% sure on is the distributor. The manuals i have show which wires go where on the cap but there is no real reference point so i'm not sure if the wires are in the right ones. so if anyone could show a picture with labels for each wire going into the cap that would help.

240z Wheel Covers
None of the backs are rusted. I know i'm not gonna get as much money as the early ones with the D in the middle, but i see them online for 190 each. now i don't think i will get that much for each one but i'm selling those and the normal steel wheels to go with them

240z Wheel Covers
Hey I've got four original wheel covers for my 240z. They are in perfect condition, and i have taken them off the car to keep them in good shape. I'm thinking about getting different wheels for my car so how much do you think i could get for 4 perfect original wheel covers.

240z fuel injection removal
I just bought a 280z engine for my 240z. It's got fuel injection so i'm removing it for carbs. I know what I need to do to take it off, but i don't own an air compressor or tools for them. Is it needed? or am i able to get by with had tools. I've also taken off the clutch and flywheel to mount it onto the engine stand. I assume to get the clutch back on it might take a little extra torque. Any help would be great. Thanks.

280zx turbo in a 240z
Hey I have a 240z and I'm putting a L28 280z engine in it on saturday. Though I like that I have finally got an engine that will make my car run. I would someday like to put a 280zx turbo engine in it. Does anyone know what the 0-60 times and 1/4 times are for a 240z with a 280zx turbo in it? I have read that a 280zx turbo could do 0-60 in 7.0 sec, but i assume that with an engine from that in a car that weighs around 500lbs less would go faster.

Lime Z
Thx a lot. those pics and the chart help a lot. How much do you think would it take to get a good paint job that would last for a significant time. Cause I need them to do everything including strip the old paint put primer and do everything.

Lime Z
Yeah i'll probably keep in 112 then, but the thing is i'm not totally sure what the color is. I've seen a couple different ones with the lime green and some look different then others cause it was a repaint. Does anyone have a pic of what it would have looked like new in that color?

My '72 at a park
Hey i've also got a lime green #112 1972 240z. I've heard they are slightly rare. is this true? And I do want to paint the car someday, but is it worth painting it the stock color cause i was thinking of painting it bright yellow.

Lime Z
I own a 1972 240z and the color is #112, which is the lime green. I've heard the lime green color is slightly rare. is this true. I am also thinking of painting the car in the future and I like both the original color and a bright yellow color. Is it worth keeping the original color if it's rarer?

Prices for rebuilt engines
Well i'm thinking of just putting the new engine myself. Without the cost of labor, how much would the actual engine cost?

Prices for rebuilt engines
So for the past month i've been trying to fix my 240z engine. It is the original L24 and it was seized up. I put some PB blaster into the cylinder walls then tried to turn the engine manually but nothing moved. The damage is a little more than I thought at first. Now I am looking to get a rebuilt engine. Normally, what is the price for a rebuilt L24;L26:L28 cost?

Mouse in my car
Friend suggested that already. I think the cat will do more damage to the car than the mouse

Mouse in my car
I bought a 72' 240z about 2 months ago. It is in great shape with no rust besides a little surface rust on the hood. The engine doesn't work yet, but when i was working on it. my friend noticed a little brown mouse jump out and under the transmission. Luckily there is like no mouse poop in the car, but that explained all the sunflower seeds in the car. I set up some traps, but i guess it's too smart to go for cheese or peanut-butter. The car had been kept in a garage for like 2 years before I bought it, and the amount of seeds in the car suggests it was there for at least a year, but there is like no mouse poop and electrical stuff has worked meaning the mouse hasn't chewed wires. Any ideas on getting the mouse out would be greatly appreciated. -Chris

Air Dam
I'm really wanting to put a new air dam on my 72' 240z. I see a lot of pictures where they all have the same basic one. When I looked around for them, there were a couple that looked a lot alike and I cant tell which is which. so I have a pic of one that I'd want, and one that is available on the internet. Are they the same? Picture of the Air dam I want- http://www.zcarsource.com/content/p/9/pid/55826/catid/7729_7768/Air_Dam_w_Brake_Ducts_70_74

240z radio
Yeah so the radio works and the face plate is a little dusty but can be cleaned (there are some pics). I also have two clocks from a 240z. are they worth anything in the condition you see them in the pics, and I also have two door sill plates. They are warped a little, but they are very flexible and can be fixed. They are also dusty and one has some dried on paint. Any idea on the prices.

240z radio
I have an original 72' 240z radio. I'm pretty sure it works. If it does work, how much is it worth. I need to make money to fix up the engine of my car and get it running so some cash would help. thx -Chris

240z seized engine
Hey I've got a 72' 240z. I bought i about a month ago,and i'm currently fixing the engine. It has been siting in a garage for the past two years, and was running before it was put into the garage. Just from sitting, the engine has seized up. Are there easy ways to fix it or should i just take off the head and do some more major work. Any help would be great. -chris

New Z in Oregon
Hey. I just got my 72' 240z in june09, and it's my first car. There's barely any surface rust and no structural rust. It's lime green and is pretty much original. I've always been interested in cars, and now with this project i really want to get better and hopefully do something with cars for a living. The engine doesn't run at the moment but i got the electrical working a couple days ago. I decided to get it cause I live in a place with really rich kids, and it was either get an awesome classic to fix up or get a used civic to try and compete with the guys in new Mercedes'. I'm looking forward to getting this thing on the road and possibly picking up some chicks on the way. -Chris
