M3 mirrors
They dont look too bad, but just a couple of comments How well does the angle on that mirror match the angle on the stainless door frame? Are you going to end up with a big gap, or a mirror that looks likes its skewiff? As to mounting them on the frames, its a whole heap harder to cover holes in a stainless steel frame than it is in a door sking should you change your mind at a later date. Be nice to see a set just double side taped on your car to see what they look like? As for not wanting door mounted mirrors, I am with you 100 percent on that comment, But I will end up going more traditional with my mirrors. If that front angle could be made to match well, they should be a very neat looking install, if not it could look a bit tacky. Good Luck Cheers Chris

M3 mirrors
They are still not quite "right" in my opinion, but I think they are better than many. PS go to alfas gallery to look at them mounted on a decent car, in a better location.

M3 mirrors
They almost look too big? Kind of like an elephant flapping its ears. Do you have a problem with the Ford Escort mirrors (other than the ford and the escort part) they look more period and seem to be a bit smaller and blend better.

Her first REAL drive
Not a good pic, but a pic of a hoon none-the less, note singlet, crappy family car, bogan mates in the background, all on public roads

Her first REAL drive
A bogan is the country boys equivelant of a hoon. Instead of driving round in sedans, they have old utes (trucks). The degree of boganism can be established form looking at their utes. Your full feral bogan will have a ute coated with B&S ball stickers, large roof mounted spotlights, a huge roobar, lowered, and where there are no B&S ball stickers, Rum stickers will be plastered. Often offensive cat stickers can often be found as well ("Lost your car check my tyres", "Cat the other white meat" and the odd cat tail hanging from the fuel filler door) There are also immitation bogans which are city guys with the bogan utes (usually newer models). These utes are used for hunting, rooting, ute surfing and a variety of other activities. Bogan ute competitions are not an uncommon event. See the attached pic for a mild bogan car.

Her first REAL drive
Hey Victor, a hoon is a person who drives like they own the place, foot flat to the floor, tyres losing traction and frequently out of control (usually under the impression that they are cool seats often in the reclined position while driving). You average hoon is in my age group (16-21ish) usually driving a commonwhore, or some other equally as poorly made Aussie car, adorned with stickers like "Only milk and juice comes in 2 litres". They all tend to end up in one of three places, body bag at a morgue, police station, or taking public transport after they lost their licence. You must not confuse a hoon with a bogan, even though there are some similarities. Hope this cleared it up a bit. Chris

Damn you man, why doesn't stuff like this ever turn up in Australia. Why settle for just one when you could have both? Good Luck

Stripping a Z
Well I have to say that dipping it is. I just got my panels back, and aside from the usual rust, they are great. I had the guards, doors, bonnet and hatch done, and they guy did a great job. I get the results of sandblasting but lose no metal as its non abrasive, the rust is chemically removed so no good metal is lost, then he coats all parts inside and out with 2pak etch primer, ready for further body work. I could not recommend the process enough, it was a bit costly, but the results were in my opinon enough to justify the cost. (not a plug but its Minus Paint in Wingfield for all the SA guys) Why blast, scrape sand grind of burn when it works this well? Cheers Chris

Steel Dashboard Frames Required
You can have my spare RHD 260 frame for 30 bucks, in fact if you can take it and use it its yours, shipping from South Aust to you could suck? Any other members want it?

Fuel lines
I pulled apart a late 260Z 2+2, and it had the little tank fitted in the interior on the drivers side? Maybe it made a comeback in the later ones here?

What a proper BUGGER of a week.
Ahh yes golf, the sport of gentlemen. Years ago (before I was born ) when heaps of white guys wearing white chased a black fella around, it was the Ku Klux Klan, now its called the US PGA tour. I only ever played one round of golf, in that round, I lost 4 balls to the water on the first hole, fell in the creek looking for them, then proceeded to go through another dozen balls on the next nine holes, the straw that broke the camels back, was when a "mate" took a swing at my ball a la Happy Gilmore and got me square in the chest, I returned my rented clubs and went home. You gentlemen can have the sport. Cheers Chris

240z Differences 1970-1973
They are referring to the carbs fitted to the 73 model Z's in the USA, they have a bad reputation, and are not useful as anything but a boat anchor. They are identified by the square top (squared edges) (not rounded top).

Damaged 350z at auctions
There is one coming up here as well, the owner died and hit a stobie pole (in that order too) front hit fairly heavily, and they are expecting it to go for around 40k

Emblem Missing ?
Mine was june/july 73, so towards the end, however the badge was different to the one that came off the 260, it was (i think) fatter, but I cant find it at the moment, My car has had so many owners and prangs thought, I couldn't guarantee it wasn't put there by some clown trying to hide rust.

What brand of tools do you use?
I have found some of the local brands acceptable, I am not doing enough spannering to justify snap on or the likes, but repco etc make spanners which are the right size, and seem to stay that way for a reasonable price, unlike the taiwanese specials, which seem to only stay the right size for one or two uses, then they graduate to the next size up. Alan, now you are out of that English rubbish, don't suppose you have access to some King d*** tools out of the E type tool roll? You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find King d*** stuff over here, and even asking for it at swap meets usually gets at least one snide remark. It still amazes me that any company called themselves King d***. It ranks right up there with the local mechanics shop which now does "Quality Head Jobs" and that sign is in the median strip, pointing to a bush, each to their own.
