Hi, ClassicZCars community. Our 21st annual Z-Car show has a new date and location. It’s Saturday, May 14th at Anaheim Stadium. We chose a different date so as not to conflict with other shows, and a larger space to accommodate more cars. In addition to Z-Cars from 1970 to 2016, we’re also inviting Nissan Skylines, GTRs, 510's, and Roadsters. Best of all, entering one or more in the show is free. This is a “thank you” to the Z community for all your support over the years. We have a weekend of special events planned. More information will be posted soon. In the meantime, check our online store for show details at thezstore.com. Thanks.

Z-Car West Coast Nationals and 2014 Z Bash
Greg@TheZStore replied to Greg@TheZStore's topic in Motorsport Auto Forum
Update on the Z Bash. Group Z will be hosting four events scheduled around Z Bash, including indoor kart racing, a Cars and Coffee caravan, and a Saturday night dinner. Details and links on our website. -
Here's the latest news about the West Coast Nationals. Most forum members are probably aware that this year's National Z Convention will be held in San Diego. The Convention hasn't been on the West Coast for almost ten years. For the sake of the hobby and the Z community, we want the Convention to be a great success. To avoid having either show compromised, we have decided to postpone the 2014 West Coast Nationals. The entire announcement is available on our website, thezstore.com. We will be holding the Z Bash, a special one-day Z event, on Saturday, April 26th. In addition to your favorite activities (the garage sale, dyno runs, and Z-car display), Convention representatives will have a display with up-to-the minute information on the Nationals. Watch our website, thezstore.com, for details about the Z Bash.

Members--First, the good news. Our annual Z event will be held on Saturday, April 16th at our location in Orange, Calif. Because of the delay in getting the date out, I wanted to provide you with an explanation. Traditionally, our show is the last weekend in April. However, as was the case in 2010, there was a scheduling conflict with another Datsun/Nissan event. We believe that the Z hobby benefits from not having too many events on the same day. In determining what was in the best interest of the Z community, we decided to move the date for our get together. Details will be posted soon (some interesting changes are in store!). In the meantime, please circle April 16th on your calendar. We hope you can join us!

untilZ-Car Parking at the Event - Updated from previous website info on 04/19/10 We estimate that approximately 75 to 100 Z-Cars will be able to park directly in the Motorsport parking lots. The front Motorsport lot (shown in the image above from 1997) will be part of the West Coast Nationals Event History display, and will feature first place award winners from previous shows. We expect to fit approximately 25 award winners in the front lot. Many spots are already confirmed, so we ask all former first place award winners who plan to bring their Z, to email president@motorsportauto.com with your Z information as soon as possible, so we can get you on the list. Due to the limited space only first place Z-Car West Coast Nationals award winners can sign up at this time, and must be confirmed in advance. You will need to bring your trophy with you! For the remaining 50 to 75 display spaces in our lots, around the different parts of the event, they will be first come, first served. Look for the signs and directions as to where to line up on Collins or Enterprise. We hope to begin parking cars around 8:00 or 8:30. The only requirement is that you drive your Z, and that it looks good! No rustbuckets please! : ) For the 100+ parallel parking spaces on Collins Avenue and Enterprise Street, we respectfully ask that these spaces also be reserved for those who bring their Z to the event. We ask that those bringing vehicles other than Z Cars to please park in the surrounding lots and areas, and to please be respectful of our neighbors. Hard to beat free food (don't forget to sign up), sunshine (weather.com says sunny and 72), a Z Garage sale (which might have just the old stock part you have been looking for, on the cheap), event specials in the showroom, a pictorial history of the first 14 years of the West Coast Nationals, awesome Z-Cars on the dyno, and awesome Z-Cars all over the place (could be hundreds). We look forward to seeing you there! _____________________ Original Event Post Below Hello Forum Members: Thank you for the opportunity to update you on the West Coast Nationals (WCN). First, I apologize for the tardiness of this posting. I had to confirm some details regarding this year's event. Secondly, please forgive the length of this post, but I wanted to be sure that you had all the background on why the 2010 WCN had to be changed. The primary reason for going to a one-day event was a conflict of scheduling with other Z-related shows and the SCCA. For those of you not familiar with the West Coast Nationals, it has traditionally been a 3-day event, consisting of a kick-off party, an autocross, a show-prep day and sale, a banquet, and the West Coast Nationals car show. When we started holding the WCN in 1996, we purposely picked a mid-spring date to avoid conflicts with other Z events. This year's schedule presented some challenges. Our autocross is capably run by the SCCA. This year, the Southern California chapter that provides the timing equipment, course management, and instructors for our autocross will be conducting an SCCA National event around the time of our traditional last-weekend-in-April schedule. Therefore, SCCA was not available to run our autocross. Since the autocross has been a major and popular part of the WCN, going forward with the weekend without the performance portion of the program would be disappointing to many. Further, we discovered that Grassroots Motorsports "Walter Mitty" event in Atlanta was presenting Datsun (particularily the Z) and BRE as the honored marks. The "Mitty" is being held about the same time as our show was scheduled. Many regular WCN attendess, especially from the midwest and east coast, were having to choose between events. Not (in my opinion) a healthy situation for the Z hobby. Finally, the Z Nationals is being held this year in Nashville at Nissan headquarters to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Z. I feel this is an important event, and did not want our show to detract in any way from this celebration. With all this in consideration, we decided to modify our event for 2010. We are having a one-day party on Saturday, April 24th (our traditional April weekend) as a thank you for all WCN supporters. There will be a complementary bar-b-q, available dyno runs, our regular garage sale, and the "informal car show" that always breaks out when a couple of hundred Z-cars get together. More details can be found at http://www.zcarparts.com/events. Thank you for your patience and understanding regarding the extraordinary circumstances that forced a change to this year's WCN. I hope you'll enjoy the party.
