BOSCH H4 Headlights:
Then you really would have been better off making your own harness. But for the novice the harness isn't bad. Tony D still likes the one I gave him for one of his 260Z's.

Z Car Dot Com Was Sold?
Lots of crumbs are being left for lots of potential locations: http://www.zcar.com/car_talk_forum/when_do_i_give_good_896829.15.html Interesting that the folks looking for a new home are mostly earlier Z owners. I think the site will become more of a 350/370 site shortly. Watch out my350zdoycom.

BOSCH H4 Headlights:
That's a universal relay kit since BD / Long Motor Co. sells for a lot of different applications. If you use the supplied relays try to put them in a very dry place or seal them to prevent moisture encroachment. It's always Murphys Law that they will fail in the darkest place at the worst time. I speak from experience. Tech crew in Baja many years ago. Note to self: Bosch is better than Lucas

BOSCH H4 Headlights:
If you need other bulbs just go to my website and check out what options I stock in H4 or 9003 then PM or email me with your requirements and we can work something out. My personal preference is the Bosch housings with Narva XB3 bulbs. These bulbs are the best IMO but do cost more than a standard H4 bulb. This is strictly an FYI. Not a sales pitch just my personal opinion. Buy whatever, wherever but try to buy the best housings and bulbs you can afford. Hopefully from someone who knows what they are talking about. I've attached an information sheet:

BOSCH H4 Headlights:
I've got a few sets of Bosch H4 headlights that fit 240Z through 280ZX. I can load them with 60/55 H4 bulbs and include shipping (FedEx) in the continental US for $65.oo a pair. If interested let me know. This is not something I have listed at my website because the quantities are so limited. I'm not trying to entice you to order now, just stating that it is something that has a limited supply. IMO; I think they are better than the Hella's which I stock all the time.

MSA West Coast Nationals
There is a party scheduled for the evening of the event and this years food draw is the In-N-Out Burger truck rather than a BBQ. So, yes, a one day event. But a little different from last year. Pre-registration starts March 1st at their site for the Dyno (fee) and In-N-Out (no Fee). I'm sure next year will be back to a multi-day deal with a car show in front of the store with the street blocked off. I too miss the excitement of the classic West Coast Nationals and really have no desire to go to Savannah Georgia for ZCCA's event later this year. But next year in Phoenix, that sounds good.

Z Car Dot Com Was Sold?
FWIW new administrator over there has taken the name of 'YUNGSTER' I'm hoping folks will migrate, even some of the more controversial older posters. They offer up knowledge and humor and this site has appropriate forums for those subjects. But I do know now where to get the best deal on Viagra in Canada, (there is SPAM for that every morning now) plus all the key word advertising balloons, extra advertising before you log in mingled in the threads and arbitrary log outs every few minutes to just over an hour always in mid post. It's a veritable smorgasbord of WTF next!?

Z Car Dot Com Was Sold?
For some reason I ended up doing most of my posting over at ZC.C and still cannot figure out why. Habit I guess. I will include a link to this thread 'over there' on a PM, (heaven forbid it gets mentioned and it's not directly Z car related) to those mentioned here. Thanks for the re-welcome. If anyone has questions or comments you can always email me at johnath4lightsdotcom . I do have opinions and offer them but also try to help direct folks to answers which many times are not always to my advantage ($$$). Hey, I own Z's and really like them, that's my interest.

MSA West Coast Nationals
Looks like the MSA event will be a one day affair on April 16th, 2011. Very similar to last years event, which I personally enjoyed. Times are tough, I'm glad they are doing something. Most others that we have contact with are talking about maybe 2012 or ??? Group Z has been asked to do the BBQ again and we have accepted. Plans are to have the 2012 event incorporate a car show on the street in front of the MSA store. Multi-day event? I do not think they even know this far into the future.

Z Car Dot Com Was Sold?
From what I can gather to a big company with very little specific interest in Z's beyond a way to make money from advertising. I am looking forward to making this my first stop on the Z trail from now on.

Motorsport Auto's 2010 West Coast Nationals
I understand completely. Let's hope next year will be back to a more diverse events schedule as before. Knowing MSA the one day event will still be great. Hey, any time you can get a bunch of Z folks together it's always a good time.

Gauges "pulsing" = ???
Rythmic pulsing... Diode(s) in alternator? If blown you may be getting AC instead of DC. DVOM will help to diagnose or bench test the alternator,(or go for an AVR test).

If only it wasn't an auto...anyone in the Marina Del Rey area?
Things that make you wonder just from the limited old pics: Electric fuel pump installed but mechanical left on block? (fuel delivery issues) Valve cover not correct with only 44K ?? (broken choke knob and modified ashtray lid) Passenger side door panel not original ??? (hard life for only 44K especially as an automatic)

brighter bulbs?
The best relay kit I have found is from Painless Wiring. It is not a plug and play but the components are good.If you decide to make it yourself there are wiring diagrams available online or I have one available that I can email you. Use good relays! Cheapies will fail at the worst time and leave you in the dark.

No headlights
"If I heat up the fuse block, the lights do come on." So, that kind of puts it back at the fuse box. Bad connections, fuses, wire(s) into the fuse box. Just out of curiosity, how do you heat up the fuse box?

Headlight wiring
The VB universal 100/90 harness I'm sure is the same as one I received with other application samples from a company in Taiwan. My biggest concern was the quality of the relays...the harness itself seemed good. I carry new three prong connectors with wires to plug into the back of the headlights so installation seemed pretty straight-forward by bypassing most of the existing wiring. I still feel if you are "electrically challenged" the painless wiring harness/relays are an easy way to upgrade.

Classic Japanese Car Show Oct 1 in Long Beach
** NEWS!** As JCCS is being joined by YOKOHAMA Tires, Toyota, Mazda and Nissan, some of the trophies will be given by them. Please polish your cars more than usual, and get ready for the voting!! Your own will be a judge to support JCCS. Yes, as you know, this car show is DIFFERENT from other import car show. This show is for "all Japanese classic cars", which means that classic Toyota, Datsun/Nissan, Mazda, Honda, Subaru, Mitsubishi, Isuzu and Daihatsu are all welcome to participate. That is why, parking will be handled on an "assigned area" basis, in order to let all the registered Car Clubs and same makes park together. We believe that everyone will enjoy, learn & respect the history of all Japanese autos, regardless the brand. We have 33 days left until the show, and Pre-Registration will be closing in 22 days. 22 days sounds like a lot of time, but in reality, time flies so fast as you working on your cars. So if your friends are waiting for the last minute to register, please encourage them to do so as soon as possible, if they are interested. That way, we can make arrangements to park all the same makes together, without hassle. (On the day of the event, gate registration WILL NOT guarantee parking within the same make, or with your car club) We will update more info as closer to Oct.1st. Please click the link for more details about updated AWARD CATEGORIES. http://www.japaneseclassiccarshow.com/categories.htm Thank you & Best regards, :::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::: Terry Yamaguchi Event Operations Japanese Classic Car Show Association P.O.Box 1400, Hawaiian Gardens, CA 90716 Phone: 562-472-4562 FAX: 562-402-7579 E-mail: operations@japaneseclassiccarshow.com www.japaneseclassiccarshow.com

L.E.D Solutions for dash and other LIGHTS?
It's also important to understand that LED quality varies considerably and is usually, but not always, influenced by price. I have tested a bunch of different brands supplied by onshore and offshore suppliers. Some claims are valid, some died horribly in very short order. Try to purchase from someone that will stand behind their product. High failure rates is the easiest way to implode your business plan.
