Should I worry?
I've had no luck on the thermostat stock vs aftermarket but have found some other things I didn't know,

Should I worry?
Ok coolant is fine even after the thermostat opens, and the oil is ok also. Noticed the valve cover bolts were loose so I tightened those back down. I do get some vapor/smoke from the breather on top but nothing more that what it was before the belt snapped. One other random thing I change the thermostat a few months ago when I did the coolant system and once I put it in the gauge sat a lot higher is that normal? I know with the different thermostats it supposed to open at a different temp, but does it sit at a different point too? For reference the old one sat at 1/2 the new one sits a little under 3/4.

Should I worry?
I just checked the fluids right now coolant seems to be fine and so does the oil but I haven't turned over the motor just yet. As for how far I drove maybe a block in a half it came off at euclid and I stopped at brookhurst and stanford which isn't to far away. I have an old belt I can put on to test but I will go buy a new one later this afternoon.

Should I worry?
So yesterday I was helping a friend with his car and we came to the point where we had to go to the store for something. So I drove my Z about half way there we ran over a belt, (and I just randomly thought to myself I would if that was mine) after that I noticed the temp gauge was pegged all the way at 250. I tapped the gauge to see if maybe it had broken or the connection had become loose but it stayed there. Turns out that my belt (my only belt) either broke or fell off, so my alt, crank, and water pump weren't getting any rotations. My concern is could this have done some serious damage to the motor? I didn't stop immediately. Any recommendations on this would be helpful.

JDM/Euro taillight wiring
I did the light conversion on my car more than a few months ago to get my light like the euro ones, and I have to it admit it's a huge improvement. However now i have a problem I'm doing the conversion on my friends car but his car has the opposite harness in it so I'm looking for the write up I used originally. but I can't find it! does anyone know of this?

Reverse Lights
Thanks Jeff I didn't see a 71 FSM there but I went into the s30 one and found what looks to be the right area I will check it out and let you know. I will also take some pictures to show you what I am dealing with harness wise. Dave I know where your talking about and I haven't seen anything like that in that area of the harness I checked on another car of the same year and couldn't find it on mine.

Reverse Lights
So I've had my Z for a little over a year now and I've finally decided to address my lack of reverse lights. I upgraded my trans to an 83 and it has the sensor/switch I need to plug into....however I can seem to find the wires in the harness on the car. I'm not sure if they were wrapped up by the PO or cut or some other unknown fate. Does anyone have any recommendations on how I can go about fixing this besides taking it to a shop and paying them to cut my Z up. And I have a 71 240z.

280z springs on a 240z
While it's just temporary until I can afford a real suspension I'm trying cut springs and different spring options. Currently I'm running the normal 240z springs but I found a good set of 280z springs. Now I was told the 280z has a stiffer spring but it's a softer rate than the 240z, is that true? I was looking for a somewhat stiffer ride. I've looked around and haven't seen anything on this mostly 240z springs on 260's and 280's.

Frame rot and then some
Wow that doesn't look like it would be a "cheap" fix
