  1. Hello, I tried posting this in the "Help Me" section, however this might be more appropriate. I am wrapping up this conversion and had a few questions: 1) I am using the 260Z Manifolds and I know I can keep the coolant lines as is, however when replacing the Balance Tube what do I do with those coolant lines? There were several I had to remove and there is no place for them on the 240Z Balance Tube. 2) What are the differences in the spacers between the 260Z and 240Z? I know either ones will work, but will I feel a difference if I use one vs the other? The ones I have are factory 260Z Spacers and about 1/4" thick. 3) The 260Z Throttle Linkage is adjustable. Do I need to replace the entire linkage? Part of it? Can I use the 260Z linkage? 4) I'm assuming the gasket that came with the Z Therapy Kit is OK to use with the 260Z Manifold. Is that correct? Thanks in advance for your help! Sari

Hello, I am in the process of converting from flat tops to round tops on my 74 260Z. I bought round tops from ebay and a rebuild kit from Z Therapy. While installing the rebuild kit from Z Therapy, I conducted a drop test per the DVD. There was one piston that was sticking on the way down. This piston had the same behavior using both domes. I used 400 grit sandpaper to remove some of the aluminum per the DVD. While doing so, I noticed an imperfection in the piston. I've attached photos to help illustrate. At this point I am wonering what my options are. 1) Is there any way to repair this? Should I just keep removing material using the 400 grit sandpaper (does it even need to be repaired)? 2) Is my piston junk? If so can I replace just the piston or am I better off just buying another carb from somewhere (ebay, online, etc)? Any adivce you can give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Sari

So I ran seafoam treatment (1/3 in crank, 1/3 in gas tank, 1/3 through vacuum line) and afterwards car was difficult to start, but I was able to start it each time. After I would get it started it ran very strong after 2500 RPM, but sputtered below. I've since changed oil (as part of sea foam treatment), spark plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap. I've also cleaned off contacts for the distributor and ignitor. The last few nights the car wouldn't start at all. Today when I went to start it I heard a POP (backfire?) and some smoke (very little) was coming out of the air cleaner box. I noticed one of the carbs was low on fluid so I topped it off with ATF. I may have damaged the starter trying to start it because it seems to be slower after cranking for a few seconds. I havn't tried spraying starter fluid in the carbs yet, but I plan to buy some tomorrow to try it. Battery voltage reads 12.5V. Any ideas on what the problem is? ANY??? Thanks, Sari
  5. Hi, I was trying to hunt down a brake fluid leak and noticed that the bottom of the brake booster is rusted and damp. The moisture smelled like brake fluid. A search on this site had me thinking that the master cylinder could be leaking fluid to the bottom of the booster thus removing the paint and causing the rust. I removed both the master cylinder (to replace) and booster (to clean and repaint). When I removed the booster I noticed there was really dirty brake fluid INSIDE the booster. Can I empty the fluid and reuse the booster or am I looking at having to replace it? Are these pretty straight forward to rebuild? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Sari
