Will a 510 5-speed bolt up to a 240Z?
Pretty simple question. I have a 5-speed left over from my 510 project (I think thats what it's from)of a couple decades ago, will it bolt onto my 72' 240Z? If not I have it for trade or whatever. Thanks again for the help, Regular Joe:ermm:

240Z car drawings
Hello All, Does anyone know where I can download some simple outline type drawings of a 240Z? I would like to use them to play with color schemes and graphics before I spend the big bucks on paint. Thanks, Regular Joe

Final drive ratio?
I was guessing at 110 mph for the top speed at red line. But just guessing, is there a list of the gear ratios for the 4 and 5 speed trannys? I have those other rears to check out, I think one of them is a 3.92 or something like that. I also have a couple of trans and if I remember one is a 5 speed, maybe that would make the 4.3 workable. Thanks again, Regular Joe

Final drive ratio?
Ok, my 72' 240Z that used to race SCCA ITS is going back onto the road and I have to dump the welded rear end. I have a R180 that has a 4.3?? ratio out of the front of an 80 something pickup, does anyone have any experience with this ratio in a street/auto x car? I think I still would get plenty of highway speed while gaining quickness out of the tight corners. I have 4 other 180s and 1 200 I need to check yet if there is a particular ratio that comes recomended. Thanks in advance, Regular Joe

I'm not sure about now but back then the rules really limited what you could modify, So most likely I will leave it as modified. Re-jetted carbs, header with a free flow exhaust, lower ratio in the final drive. Of course I will change the brakes to ones suited for the road, dump the welded rear end and I'll have to find a D.O.T. legal fuel cell.

Barn car find new project to start
It's original paint, years ago I was told the color was called "Sunshine" but I never really researched it. My schitck when I raced was to keep it as stock looking as possible. Do you like the Blue? We want to keep it the original color but maybe add a stripe or graphic and are debating on a complimenting color. don't forget the "LSD"????? Please clarify....

Barn car find new project to start
:classic:I found this 1972 240Z in a barn about two miles from my house. A couple of spare engines, 4 or 5 R180 and R200 rear ends, two extra trannys (I think one is a five speed?) etc. So my Dad, my son and I drug it home and are ready to start putting her back on the road. I hope you are all ready for some more basic questions that I'm sure you have heard before. I have attached a picture if you are interested, (wasn't sure how to insert a picture into the text?). Oh, and one last thing, the barn belonged to my Dad, and the car is the one I used to race at Mid-Ohio and Nelson's Ledges a couple decades ago. SCCA Improved Touring Sport class. Now that my son is 14 and is going to need a cool car for his senior prom we have dug it out and are making a family project out of it, COOL. I am serious though about asking stupid questions, it's been a lot of years since I've done this. Thanks in advance, Regular Joe
