  1. I didn't bring it up. I was answering the person who did.
  2. I pretty much only sell on eBAY now, and with that particular member, I have had issues, involving another for sale item and as they have been rectified, I will not go into them here. Needless to say if he wants it he can bid on it like everyone else. That is fair and equitable. This clock is going on eBAY shortly in an auction and I am pretty sure the starting auction price will not be the price it sells for. I will probably never see one of these clocks in this condition again in my lifetime
  3. I know Ron, we do business together and I agree his work is topnotch. Thus far my clock and oscillator are working since 5:30 PM yesterday. I am not worried about selling it, it is so rare it will sell in pretty much any state unless it is an abject lump of caca (which it most definitely is not). If the clock ends up not working it makes no sense to have Ron refurbish it and then for me to sell it because like most service people his warranties do not transfer and on a high priced fragile and rare item such as a Z Rally Clock I am assuming a prospective customer would benefit from a warranty in which case it would be more sensible for them to pay for the refurbishing service themselves. And in which case I would most definitely point them in Ron's direction. Cleaning and polishing I do myself. Thanks Dave! Happy 4th of July!, Best Regards, Daniel P.
  4. Thank you Esprist, your website was one of the top Google searches so I read your info and thanks for the additional info. I was wondering about the excess clock motor noise but was expecting the power drain as I had been previously warned about it. I have a complete clock and oscillator and when they are done being tested and cleaned they are going on eBAY.
  5. Yes I know it is rare, what is it worth, generally speaking? If you have an opinion, by all means please share it! Thanks, Daniel P.
  6. IMHO, no professional thief is going to waste his/ her time with a 30 + year old car. The only value that a car has like this is intrinsic to a collector and the ZCAR world is not as rarefied as the Porsche or Lamborghini world. Check the Kelley Blue Book and see what non-reappraised ZCARS clock in at valuewise. This was probably the work of some street level thief, and it is probably still in the area. Last year or the year before there was a gentleman in California's high desert area who had his cherry ZCAR carjacked out from under him. He eventually found it, and it was a few blocks from his house, stripped but there nonetheless.

I sent a picture and blurb to 4chrome.com the day before yesterday and have not heard anything back yet. Maybe they're being flooded with requests?

I was making a serious inquiry, what's WRONG with etc... as I am considering doing some chrome trim strips with this product (Spectrachrome). I have to do the prep myself which is not too fun. I was told about the durability or lack thereof and the shop I am considering shoots the final product with clear coat and they said that does the trick. Have you actually used the 4chrome.com shop to rechrome your trim strips? Did they do a good job?

What's wrong with spray metalization? The results I've seen up close and personal with Spectrachrome in particular look as good as vacuum bagged chrome plastic.

I view my car as a malleable platform to modify any way I want to, a mobile sculpture that I will change at will and the only rules I need to obey are the ones which will keep me from being ticketed. The latest mods are Klearz clear rear turn signal treatment and just look what I did with the front stock bumper that I could not get rid of that was sitting in my garage getting in the way. It has few fans but they don't have to drive it!

I guess now is as good a time as any to relay an anecdote about a transaction on this site approximately 6 weeks ago. I happened upon a cache of 77-78 280z quartz clocks and put them up for sale. I had tested and inspected all thoroughly and they all passed muster. The gentleman whom purchased (he shall remain anonymous unless he breaks his anonymity) payed in a timely fashion and I sent out his clock and he received it in a timely fashion. He then informed me that when he hooked it up to his car battery and tested it, it would not work, and the bezel was marred. I was adamant that it did work, one just had to put it on the stock harness and as far as the bezel being marred, I have photographic proof that it was not. He actually did the right thing and tried to get the correct information in a thread on this board. The consensus was it SHOULD work hooked up to the battery, but it seemed to me nothing conclusive was said and then within about four responses the thread devolved into a discussion about how many ticks a 280z quartz clock is supposed to make. It went back and forth with each of us holding our individual positions and nothing getting solved. He started a Paypal dispute and I said okay fine, I'll give you your money back, just return me my goods. The clock bezel he returned to me was not the one I sent out, it looked like it was cleaned with a reactive chemical, but it was not an issue as it was replaceable. When I hooked the clock up to my stock harness, it worked. I replaced the bezel, and long story short, sold it to a gentleman on HybridZ whom mounted it in his 280z and it continues to work to this day. The theme to this story is not that I was right, but that I did the right thing and returned the customers money, because the customer is always right. 95% of the items I sell are non-mechanical because they are easier to manage. If there is ever any doubt in your mind about any of the items I have for sale, do us both a favor and DON"T BUY THEM. Thank you for your time... Best Regards, Daniel P.

Thank you and FYI for basically my first five years on EBAY, I was just a buyer, mostly car parts and such.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I understand that trust must be earned. I changed my monniker to reflect the items I was selling. You can believe what you like about that statement. I have sold lots of items on HybridZ and never had a complaint. And I mean never, no hyperbole involved. As far as selling on EBAY I find a structured selling environment is a nice remedy to the flakiness, lowballing and general unreliability that one can find on unstructured buying/ selling websites. I am certainly not selling used car parts to make a ton of money. Anyone whom believes they are going to get rich selling used car parts is most likely delusional. I do it because it is fun.

Hello, I advertise alot of items for sale on this site. As one buyer pointed out I do not have any posts to my name and have no feedback. I have had my current '76 280z for 14 years. It is the only car I have owned in that time. I am posting pictures of it and my engine bay at the end of this message. I mostly post on HybridZ. For feedback please log onto EBAY where I do business under the monniker; datsunation I have 100% positive feedback. I do not mess around with lying on item descriptions or gouge on shipping. I implement the fastest turnarounds humanly possible. It's all about service in my book. Thanks for looking and I hope we can do business some day. Best Regards, Daniel P.
