Been having problems with my 72 240Z loosing coolant. I tought i found the reason when i changed leaking pipe next to valve in passenger side. It didnt help. Just few minutes ago, i took the driver side carpet away for hoovering and noticed that the insulation foam was soaked wet!! It was worked as a sponge and sucked all the leaked coolant , there was at least a litre sucked in. It was steadily leaking trough summer and i didnt notice a thing, except that every now and then i needed to add a coolant. DAMN. I wonder how much damage this leaky core has made, i mean if it has leaked to transmission tunnel.. For core replace, do i need to remove dash..? I can seriously say that im not good enough to do that job All help appreciated
  2. It is hard to say (for me at least) i just replaced it because bleeding didnt solve the problem. After new master, everything went better than expected

Where'd ya got those screws? I'd love to get some of them
  4. There is still air on the system. I had similar issue and by replacing the brake master cylinder it went away. So was your bleeding order this (sorry, not native English speaker so i need to clear it up): from rear passenger to front driver then from rear driver to front passenger? If you did that, it went wrong. It should go: rear passenger->rear driver->front passenger->front driver. BEFORE you do all this, remember to bleed it also from the master cylinder.

Okay, im planning to change my Z to look more Euro for obvious reasons. I tried to remove bumper bolts from the bumper itself, firstly it seem to go okay but then SNAP and the screw went to 2 pieces. Am i "screwed" now? Cause it looks like those screws are attached to bumper and tightened by bolts. If they are, is there any way to redo that broken screw..? still got 3 other screws intact plus 2 on the sides, which came from fenders.
  6. Blue, you need to be Nobel AND Oscar awarded for this. But thank god my headliner and roof is okay...for now
  7. Heard a lot of bad things and good things about pertronix. I bet there is some electric engineer (like Dave) in your area that can make custom electronic dizzy. Mine is custom, and it cost me only 60€ (80$) Parts itself dont cost a thing, only the labor does.
  8. I have the MSA gasket. Been driving over 1000 miles with it and no problems.
  9. Did the same procedure with Dynamat. Reduced road noise from the front section a lot. And it sticks like s*it. I also covered all the "extra" peek holes with dynamat, you can always take them off if you need to look under.
  10. Looks nice still

Sprayed most of the worn out interior parts with VHT vinyl paint. Sticks good. But needs quite many coats to look good.
  12. Very professional looking. Untrained eye cannot see if it's repaired or brand new!

Put some pictures and it'll help us to evaluate the price
  14. Those are all the improvements i count as "non-molestation" too. Because i got half of them. I count these as molestation -Recaro and all other racing seats, they may feel nice and but they look hidious (these all are just MY humble opinions) -Gauge upgrades also looks ugly (usually, there is exceptions) -MSA boom box with 2 speakers, dont like it at all. -V8 swap, the most unholy alliance ever.
  15. I tried to install my windshield with sealant and results were quite hidious. I took it to pro and he cursed "who the hell has done this??!" i said "it was PO..."
  16. I was afraid too when changing the head gasket for the very first time in my life, thx to this forum, i managed to do it well and car is in superb condition now. Didnt have your symptoms though. Mine was just leaking from the HG.
  17. I'd love to get one of those. Trying to change my Z to euro model for obvious reasons.
  18. Thanks for the great pics and info (again)

There is multiple choices for electronic dizzys. Mine is unique, as it is made by my friend. Cost 60bucks. Pertronix is good but not the only option. If you have done all that work, it does sound like distributor related. Maybe the vacuum advance is bad..?
  20. In euro models those little marker lights were blinkers. We were (i think it's general rule in europe) not allowed to have amber lights illuminating all the time on the side of the car. That's why we dont have the rear (red) marker light either.
  21. How's your steering coupler? My z drift a lot in a good roads but it all changed when i switched to MSA all ABS-plastic steering coupler. Better response to quick driving and cornering.
  22. What procedures you can do to make old loud differential to stop whining? I've changed oils, it helped a little but im about to remove it and open it up. Just don't know what to do with it..
