Zealous: i noticed that our VIN's are quite close, mine is 69729 and yours is 69726. Maybe our Z's have seen each other in the factory line I'd like to know where yours is purchased originally?

I double on that wheel cylinder. Replaced mine and no problems since.
  6. Hahaha, it was meant as a joke So the can of touch-up paint came with every Z car? That cashier's receipt is just over that red paper on its left, next to 73 licence papers.
  7. I took a pic of my most precious Z papers, i didnt include all in this picture as most of them were from smog tests etc. I'd like to know more about few things What is the purpose of that Cashier's temporary receipt? Is that given on purchase? There was something about temporary insurance on the backside. Even more mysterious is the red paper with some asian markings. Is this paper from Japan, if so, what does it read? Found out that Pete O'Flaherty was the sales representative who sold this Z back in 72, if someone knows him, say my regards

Well its not factory original battery but original NISSAN battery. I think you'll get these from any Nissan shop.

We have them in local auto parts shop, no worries in that. It seems my battery is dying. It is an original NISSAN battery, looks like few years old. I recharged it and cleaned all the contact surfaces. It seemed a little powerless. Hey Bruce i have question for you. I started the car using Motor Starter-spray. I sprayed it good and after it started i revved it up a little to keep it running. Guess i revved it too much as it shooted 1 foot flame from the carbs But it kept on running and after few minutes it idled perfectly. Is this normal or should i worry?

Yesterday i tried to start my Z for the first time in this year. I tried to start it but it wouldnt. That was expected as the car's been crancked 5 months ago. Well i keep on trying but then i hear some strange rattle and i stop. Checked that everything was on its place and no loose bolts etc. Tried again with the rattle, double checked and after that just click and nothing. It wont even try. Did my starter just die or what happened? I mean my battery wasnt full but not empy either, maybe 3/4 capacity.

I refer to my previous post. What IF the buyer wont give you any details for transaction? I only now talk about my case and in that case it was matter of TRUST. Im with ajmcforester in this. We risk a lot more when ordering cars from abroad. I know one 240Z from Texas wich was imported here. It was sold as driveable and when it arrived, engine was blown...
  13. I'd take that 260Z. Paint on that 240Z looks crappy.

I would trust that guy. I dont know why you think Europeans would trick you somehow, if we want Z's, we are ready to pay for it. Swiss people are amongst the most honest people in europe, and most wealthiest also. I remember when i purchased my Z from the states, seller was so suspicious that i was some villain that he made the purchase very hard for me. I tried to wire the money directly to him but i needed his home address in order to do so ( it is required by the bank) but he didnt give it to me, nor to my friend who lives in USA. Eventually my friend have to give the money to US citizen who called the guy and get the address. I needed to pay extra because of this. All im sayin that, trust us We love Z's!!
  15. Double that Rick. I do also know few over-million-km-Volvos. We live next to Sweden so that is one of the most popular cars here. Especially old 200 series proves to be one of the toughest car in the history. Also the Volvo Amazon is so simple to maintain and repair that you can drive them from cradle to grave.

    Mummy hose
  18. I did open up the hood in my hissing Z. I even removed the air filter cover and when i turned the car off, white puff of smoke came from carbs. Carbon or what?
  19. Related to this topic: I have 72 240z and its having the same symptoms. Banging, rattling and hissing after shutdown. In my case the engine is overheating..There is either air in the system or bad head gasket?
  20. My z is originally in that colour.. now its repainted. New color aint bad but its not that cool
  21. I think its a nice car! Nice pics, i'll use them as a reference when restoring my z!

Hiya. I managed to remove the old and worn out fuzzy strips with sharp knife. I just straightened the staples and pull it out. I got the new strips from MSA. Should i glue them back to place or what? I'd rather use some "soft" method to install them rather than just stapling them. New strips have some removable stripe on the backside, first i tought that there is glue under it but there werent. What is the purpose of this? Cheerz

Hows the key staying in switch? If you can remove it while car is on, replace the switch.
