Advice needed in rubber/weatherstrip installation
So, i got FSM for 72Z. There is nice instructions how to install the rubber and weatherstrip. BUT, what im asking here, is hints of Z-demigods about the whole procedure. What is the wisest way of doing it. I've never installed windows/strips/rubbers so that's why im asking. :stupid: Also i've heard that installing mouldings can be tricky, is this just a rumor, i dont know. Thanks and sorry

Cleaning plastics, leather upholstery and door panels
I cleaned my vinyls using french box-soap called Le Chat, it costs like 5$ and lasts forever. Just rub it against wet towel and then vinyls. It's so greasy that it takes dirt off and leaves nice surface, at least on "leather" upholstery.

Removing Emission recirculation, is it worth it?
Thanks for good points. BUT if im going to remove all those objects (air pump and all the other accessory related to it) is there any hints for doing it? Pics also help cause im quite dummy when comes to customising engine.

Removing Emission recirculation, is it worth it?
Ok, is there any other good/bad sides?

Removing Emission recirculation, is it worth it?
Ok, here's the deal. I got 72 240Z with emission recirculation and i was wondering is it worth effort to take it off? We dont have emission limits to 30+ cars. Does it give any Hp or make engine rev better? Also i would apreciate pictures and instructions about this.:stupid: Thanks already!

Headlights gone and other stuff
I checked the combination switch with multimeter. There is WR wire coming in and R going out. When lights not on, WR: 11volts, R:0volts. Lights on WR 11volts R:10.8volts. So the combination switch is either dirty or broken. I get normal readings on fuse box when lights on.:ogre: Any suggestions for cleaning the combination switch?

Cleaning plastics, leather upholstery and door panels
Title says it all. There must be dozens of similar threads but i'll start this anyway. I recently bought 72 240Z from California and it was dirty as hell from inside. Door panels are ok but there is some primer stains and LOTS of other dirt i need to get rid of. I tried Turle Wax leather cleaner, well it cleaned a bit but not all. Also, are they even real leather? Also the plastics are faded, need to bring them back to original glory, suggestions taken! Seats are almost in mint condition, except for stitchings. Are they real leather? Thank you!!

Headlights gone and other stuff
Ok, thanks for the info. But all the other lights work perfectly, that's teasing me. All the contacts on the lightswitch harness were fine,at least externaly. Also the wiring was in mint condition. Maybe i need to renew the tin on contacts?

Headlights gone and other stuff
I checked the connector, it was fine. Actually all the contact surfaces were out-from-the-factory condition! Car is 37 yrs old and no corrosion! I managed to get the headlights working for a moment while i was turning headlight switch on/off. I did it multiple times and 90% of time it didnt work. So where to look next?

Clutch slave cylinder not moving
I recently got my 72 240Z and i replaced the old slave cylinder and cleaned the master. Even how hard i try to bleed it, it wont move a bit. Is the master cylinder pushrod too short or could plain air cause this? I've got another smaller Datsun but it never had problems in there

Headlights gone and other stuff
I removed the fuse box and inspected all the surfaces. It was like straight from the shop, no sign of corrosion at all. 37 years old and in that good condition! All the fuses were also connected from rear. But i found this one wire with nothing to attach. Any idea? it is on the top right

Headlights gone and other stuff
Just got my 72 240Z. All the other lights work fine, but for some reason i cant get any headlights. I measured the current from fuse box and from the headlight connector in front. No current at all. Someone suggested that soak the fuse box in vinegar, i'll do that ASAP. But there is also another problem that might be related to this. The switch in steering wheel. It's acting strange, when i put the lights on, most of the time it works but not all the time. When i roll it on/off few times it starts to work again. All the wires are good and connected. :stupid: Also the ignition switch has some issues. Sometimes when i start the engine it tries to start and CLUNK after that it wont start till you have removed battery cables and put them back. All the other electrics works fine: heater, fan, lights inside dash, flasher...
