  1. Or you could lighten your flywheel
  2. First of all, welcome to the club! Secondly, check out the SU-carbs section in this forum and use the search function, there is tons of info here for you to find. It seems you are missing the tube from front carb to distributor, it suppose to be attached on the manifold side of the carb. Other 2 tubes from the carbs supposed to be attached to original style airbox. Btw. you have exactly the same coil as i do
  3. Okay thanks, the old clutch was branded as Atsugi and has "remanufactured" stamp. Seemed to be in nice condition but i might as well change it. BTW do you need to resurface the flywheel when putting new clutch?

I have the same muffler as Blue, but only with 2" pipes. It sounds low and raspy, way it suppose to.
  5. Okay thanks guys. Im just confused why that 280z tranny had a 240z collar... Is that larger collar from what z?
  6. Yessir, i did not confuse them. Its easy to see the difference, one that is all greasy is from 4 speed, one that is not, is from 5 speed..I have to measure those pressure plates.
  7. Last weekend i removed the engine/tranny from the car and im swapping 77 5 speed. BUT they seem to have different kind of release bearings. Smaller is from 5 speed and bigger from 4 speed. Will the 5 speed bearing work fine with L24 clutch? I have new exedy clutch kit for 240z...
  8. Back in business. Engine is almost out and time to prepare the inevitable. I wonder could someone answer me to these questions: -Engine bay is currently lime, will be painted with 350z orange. Should i blast it to bare metal or does it do if i only blast it matte? -Should i use filler? there is no dings or dongs, except surface rust in battery area. -what kinda sandpapers do you use, and in what order? (in priming stage)

It's a nice looking Z, i wouldn't go under 6K if speaking of value. It has all the parts, no major rust and paint seems to be in okay condition.
  10. I sure hope those bikes wont drop on over it!

I think the tenths were originally made for KM/H odometer. You know its a "little" easier to understand than inch/mile etc
  12. Any Torvicks Datsun frames? I would be interested.
  13. Siding this conversation: does the -72 240z clutch slave cylinder work on -77 5 speed?
  14. Im very interested in this topic as im about to change 77 5 speed to my -72 240z. I have Exedy (made in Japan) clutch kit. I noticed that the 77 tranny has fill plug on the other side.

  17. What the freck! Z prices had gone up 200%
  18. One fellow member has got his hand in these 2 cams and im asking in behalf of him and me (im buying the other). My z is California import, so it has 3:36. I dont do tracks, only cruising + occasional bimmer harrassing in traffic lights. I've been offered 3:54 and 4:11, that would be quite the hasty differential i suppose.

Im swapping a "new" tranny (-77 5speed) and im thinking of changin the differential too. Which one is better ?

I wonder how well it does work with plain citric acid? If i would put like... 2 liters of water and 0.2 liters of acid.

I've been considering ultra sonic washer but this seems to do the trick too, got to find some lemon juice!
  23. How have you guys accomplished the positive crankcase ventilating? I read from the link Blue gave that there is no pvc inlet in triples. Someone might have wrote about it in this thread, but my eyes go crossed when trying to find it in the middle of technical jungle.
