How about fusible link? I had similar problems (with normal dizzy though) and problems were in ballast resistor (which you dont have i suppose?) BUT other option was fusible link. It is located next to starter engine. Some wiser can explain.

Okay, it's not THAT expensive in vintage rubber (only 30 bucks more) but anyone has first hand experience with them? I'd love to have a quality W/strip.

The axel from oilpump is straight, as is the dizzy axel (or so says the engineer who modded it) Guess im going nowhere with this.

The whole damn thing is moving around. I made my 690 mile roadtrip with no problems, so its not that serious. I hope. Maybe its the offset slot that is causing this, how could i make it stop if the problem is there?

I have now upgraded my old distributor and it is no-points now. But it still wobbles! The engineer who upgraded it, said it worked fine on his tests (and it works fine in my Z too BUT IT WOBBLES!!) I have tested 2 oil pump drive couplings and no effect. So what's left to inspect? I have 500 mile roadtrip ahead tommorrow so...

Have you greased wiper arms properly? I got mine working by dismantling it and greasing it. If they are stuck, it wont work.

Dunno if someone has already said this but i found a old TV movie called Death Car on the freeway and the main character drives a 240Z. You can watch the whole movie on Youtube. There is lot of old Japs in this film. Here is the final (7/7) part

Couldnt find any specs about my old dizzy. I took those 2 dizzys to one local engineer who modifies them to no points. The "new" one was lot uglier from exterior so i hope these 2 are interchangeable.

    Edit: original was D609-58A 502

I got used distributor and i was wondering does it fit. My original one has these markings: D609-56A 506 but the "new" one has different D609-56A 707 Also, what could cause my current distributor to wobble? I have changed the axel from the oil pump and that didnt affect.
