Replaced my rubber with poly... Not happy stiff ride and squeaky. It was done by a reputable shop. Made sure to tell them to grease, but not sure that happened. Knowing what I know now, I would prefer rubber because of the ride. Personal choice
I am about to replace all original bushings on my 1971 240. The question I have is this, the car, in my minds eye was design perfectly so that said should the bushings be replaced with poly rather than rubber and if so would there be a noticeable degradation in performance? I am thinking not, but just for the sake of argument, what do you'all think?
My friend (mechanic) and I will be cleaning up my 240 from the engine bay out. The interior is impeccable, the body is straight, but bay is undesirable. My question is; what "secrets" might help with the overhaul of the engine and still maintain the car's value. We are also lookig for parts of an inexpensive nature. Help please. Chuck in AK
