Thank you everyone for the great help, i will get needed parts on order. While i was under there i noticed that the rubber fuel line from the tank and from the pump looked quite sad. I thought it a good idea to replace them, can someone give me the sizes please?

Looks like this pump has been on the car for many years. Knowing my dad he would not have spent a lot of money just for a big name brand, i am sure what ever Autozone sold and cheepest. Where do you guys attach the Fram G3 filter, thereis only a very small piece of rubber hose between the pump and steel fuel line.

I attached another short jumper wire to the large post and ground to the car body. The other jumper to the + on my battery! The pump did not run, swapping the wires and the pump still did not run.

Both terminals are the same size, too much crud to see any + or - marks.

I jumped directly from the + of the battery. With both ring terminals on there original post, the treminal closest to the front of the car, sparked when i toched the jumper. I then touched the other post and nothing happened.

Ok, got up early before the south Alabama sun makes it unpleasent to be out! I made a jumper wire, removed rear wheel and discoved that the fuel pump looks like it has already been replaced with an aftermarket unit. I have attached a picture to get your opinion. I removed the nylon nuts so that i can access the terminals, being careful not to get them crossed so as to get them on the correct terminal. I could not tell what was ground and what was pos. both were black.I slipped the ring terminal on the rear post and touched the front post and it sparked, i assumed that was ground. i then attached the front terminal and touched the rear terminal "nothing" the pump did not spin. i take it that this indicates i need a new fuel pump. i also checked the pos. wire from the battery that goes along the firewall and it had 12v.

Not a problem! Enterprise is in the middle, along the southern edge of Alabama. Thanks everyone for all the ideas!

Ok, got out there this morning before going to work, first i disconnected the small wire to my starter and turned the key to start, i could not here the electric fuel pump running. Second i went to the parts store and purchased a new fuel filter, when i disconnected the old filter, it was full of fuel and there was fuel coming out of the lower hose and just a tiny bit on the other end. After replacing the filter, the engine would still not start!

I have gone thru a very hard divorce last July and this old girl has been siting at the X's house to be started and run for a little from time to time. I decides to bring her to my new home this week, the battery was replaced and she started up and ran for only a few seconds then shut down, I could not get it to start again. I do not hear the electric fuel pump running and when i loosen the clamp on the fuel line going to the fuel rail, no fuel squirts out. Can someone please give me a good place to start looking for my problem

I have been trying to track down the electrical problem with my wipers and have had to correct a charging problem. I do not drive the car much so the battery goes dead often, I would charge it up and start the car to move it so that I could clean it up to drive the next day, the car started up ok, but if I let it run or drive it for a short while, the next time I try to start it , the battery is dead. I first thought it was an old battery and replaced it. I decided to drive the car to work a few days, early morning with headlights and wipers to remove dew. After two days I noticed the engine dragging when you start it up. I stopped at Advanced Auto and had them hook their tester up to check out my alternator, it failed 11.4 unloaded and 11.2 loaded. I purchased a new alternator and installed it today, when I returned the core I had them hook the tester up to make sure all was working. This guy did not run the test like the first time it was run, he said the meter was reading only battery voltage and did not change when I started up the car. I checked and was getting voltage out of the alternator and thru the fusible link. One thing I cannot remove the pos terminal from the battery while running without hitting the fender. I can unplug the pos lead that comes from the harness and the engine dies and will not start up until you reconnect the lead. I could use a little help as to where I can look for my problem
  16. The injectors, blocks and o-rings are only a couple years old. I only hope I can leave the injectors connected to the fuel rail, I will get a set of o-ring on the way also
  17. Thanks
