My rear brake line is toast like yours, glad i purchased SS brake lines not even knowing what condition mine were in. I figured 32 years old they had to be bad and i was loosing brake fluid some where.

Thanks, maybe i can replace them without messing things up to much
  9. Pulled one of mine off and checked the inside, sure nuff. Have not installed my ctr caps from Massey Accessory Shop, they were a little pricey but look great. Had time to polished one wheel only, had to also change oil on my wifes suv and suck up all the pine straw in my yard for Christmas. This has been the first sunny day in 2 weeks so i had to get as much done as i could.

Looks nice :classic: I will be doing the same thing on my '77 280, how hard were the inner and outer bearing race's to remove and install ? What tool did you use, anything special ?

I had always thought that the spring on a suspension controls the ride height and the strut controls rebound and adsorbs shock when the wheel hits holes and bumps. I have purchased new strut inserts, bump stops, ball joints and tie rods to try and get the ride back. but me without a garage i have to wait for the rains to stop and not be 30*. My problem is that the drivers side rear has no bounce at all, when you push the bumper down there is no movement. All other corners have the normal bounce, could i have something broken like the spring ? or is the shock blown out and all will be ok when i replace them. I am asking this so that if i need to get a replacement spring i can get one on the way.
  15. I called MSA and asked why the ball joint sent did not match the picture on their order page. They smarted off and said they had not updated the picture yet, they have been shipping these for the past year and have had good luck with them. If i did not like them to send them back, so i did. They really need to work on their customer relations skills. Called Blackdragon and talked to their A+ real human not like the test tube baby from MSA.
  16. I will have to give Oxium a try, my dad always kept a cover on this car under an awning and never rolled the windows down. I also found out why he only drove it on sunny days, it has been raining non stop for the past few days and even with a cover (not water proof) the passenger side floor board was flooded :disappoin
  17. Thanks, moritz55 :classic:
  18. My question is, has anyone used these ball joint on their Z ? I only purchased from them because they were highly recommended by this board and even advertise MSA on the home page. My take from the posts is that everyone buys only OEM parts for their Z, and that all aftermarket parts are junk. I guess i will have to hold off on doing any work on my car until i save up some money :disappoin. I still have not received my club cd, so could someone help me with the p/n of the OEM ball joint for my '77 280z.
  19. Here are a few pictures, definitely not what is advertised, i only have such little time to work on this car and when things like this happen really upset me. Sorry about the picture quality, i did not want to remove it from the plastic sealed bag since i will be returning them
  20. I was going to replace my ball joints this weekend along with my struts. There are so many cheep ones out there, especially on ebay. I went that way with my 95 eclipse's control arms because the oem one were so expensive. Ended up replacing them one month later because the boot cracked to pieces. This is why i purchased from MSA, 1st they did not send me the ones pictured, they had a zirk fitting and snap ring holding the boot on. The ones i received have no zirk fittings and the boot is just pushed on, nothing securing it. They also come from "Korea" , i work for a Korean company that manufactures weather stripping for Hyundai and we make junk ! Not sure if i should just send them back, the last time i contacted them via email i never got a reply and the last phone call i made the sales guy would not let me finish explaining my problem, sounded like he did not have the time to listen

I need a replacement hood release cable for my '77 280z, does anyone know if a cable from another year 280z will fit ? I have seen pictures of other year cables and the mounting bracket looks different. My mounting holes are at a 20 degree angle from each other, and all the others look like the holes are in a straight line :disappoin
  24. $5 of Vinyl with leather tie and lots of love
