Dennis, point taken, Just placed an order for my club parts cd hope this will help. I have a 1977 280z, the one part i really need to replace is the throttle linkage from the firewall. The boot is torn off and all the nylon joints are all but gone, the whole thing flops around like a fat man on a cold toilet seat.

Thanks guys this is the help and info i need, i realize this will be a hard and long road, but this car meant a lot to my father and i will do everything i can to get it in the best shape i can afford, so that we can keep it in the family for a long time. It seems everyone likes to say "coverer a million times" or "use the search engine", i thought this is what all web boards are designed for, but i have visited all those sites and have yet to find all the parts i need, some of those sites only have parts for 240z's. When you look for brackets, clamps, hoses, switches, valves, sensors, linkage, nuts, bolts, fuel lines. I guess from now on if i search and nothing comes up, i will not ask for help fearing i will be bashed by members, I will just have to figure it out myself.

I would like to know where you guys and gals are getting their replacement parts from ? I have looked at numerous 240z and 280z that look better than they did when they rolled out of the factory

Happy Thanksgiving to all ! I am going to purchase the replacement suspension bushings for my '77 280z, MSA has a kit along with Summit, is there any difference between the two kits ? I am not a very patient person and do not have a lot of money to throw away so i shop around. The last few things i ordered from MSA took way too long to get and there was no communication at all.

Well got her back together, waiting an MSA to send me the pcv hose and egr tube, they sure like them $$$ so i have not started her up, thought it best to wait until all is buttoned up.

My '77 has fuel injection so those heat shield bolts are a little harder to get to but like you said they just get in the way. I have been trying to clean the years of muck out of the intake runners and throttle body, i have gone thru 4 cans of cleaner. Also i have only one day a week i can work on the car, and it is going to rain this weekend so looks like another week of sitting :disappoin

Putting things back together is usually reverse of taking apart, with the manifold's should i install both and finger tighten all nuts and then torque them ? Or install exhaust manifold and tighten studs except the 6 that siamese with the intake ? Also i removed the intake heat shield's to make it easier to get to the btm studs, i am guessing i should attach the heat shield's before installing intake ? Starting those bolts would be a pain with the intake installed.

Got my hardware from MSA today, where does that 1 oddball stud go ? And i guess no flat washers are used except for the 6 thick spacers ?

I am for sure these are not oem, because of the big kinks in them both, this has to restrict the flow of coolant to and from this unit. Does anyone know what it is so that i can get the correct hoses ?

Thanks 70 Cam Guy, my MSA stud kid has not come in yet ans will go to all studs also, those bolts were a pain. Will need some help on determining what studs get the thick spacers, some had washers some had spacers some only nuts.

I need help identifying this box, as you can see the cover is all but gone and it sits nexto the fusible links directly under the poorly engineered hood vent on the passengers side that does not have a plate to stop water from pouring on to it. Not sure if i have to replace the whole box or if i can get a new cover :disappoin

Found all the parts i need at the z store, just very expensive. What would be my downfall just plugging the tube off ? My guess this is what everyone has to do if they install a header. Every thing else came off ok, no broken studs :classic:

Hi, i have been removing my heat shielding and spraying all my studs and looks like the manifold has been removed before because all the intake fasteners have been replaced with bolts. As i mentioned before the egr pipe had been welded so it broke as soon as i loosened the nut at the intake. Does anyone have one or know where i can get one ? I have searched all the zcar parts stores listed in another thread and they do not have one :disappoin

I have bought from both "the-z-connexion" and "reddat" both have supplied me with good parts. Reddat is slow to ship and high on shipping cost.
