Cars for Sale: 1972 Datsun 240Z For Sale
Better let Boris know. You're not in Europe. You're in the United Kingdom. Boris will fix it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/General_Data_Protection_Regulation Another BlueMeanZ 1972 Datsun 240Z post... This is my 1972 Datsun 240Z with 69K miles on her that was lovingly restored by myself and a good friend. She was originally a hideous greenish yellow color, but was stripped down and redone in laguna blue pearl with bright white daytona stripes down the hood and hatch. When I found her, she was definitely in need of some love. The old Z's were serious rust magnets. The interior was also toast. The engine has been rebuilt and I kept the original SU carbs. She is mostly stock with a few upgrades and a couple surprises under the hood. A labor of love and an ongoing work in progress, I did take her to some shows in 2007 and she did very well. She placed high several of the shows in open class, often times being voted the best import. She did take the top honors at the Riley Children's Hospital Car Show in Indianapolis. I hope to get her more exposure in 2008. When I found her, she was definitely in need of some love. The old Z's were serious rust magnets. The interior was also toast. The engine has been rebuilt and I kept the original SU carbs. She is mostly stock with a few upgrades and a couple surprises under the hood.

The red tow-hook 73 was actually a well-done resto mild mod. $80,000. My gob feels smacked. It has those odd-looking valves that we couldn't identify in someone else's head work pictures. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1973-datsun-240z-158/

TechnoVersions Differential Mount
If you use the GM top mount then it becomes a true "mount". Most people use it as a snubber, basically a better strap, to limit the distance the nose falls back after power is let off. If you cut the snubber too close to the diff nose then you can get diff whine in the cabin when the nose lifts up and touches the snubber, just like the typical urethane bushing problems. The top mount lets you remove the control arm clamps without dropping the diff too. Handy. https://www.technoversions.com/DiffMount.html

MOSTLY AN UPDATE BUT ALSO A QUESTION!!
The ignition timing does sound a bit retarded in the video. Easier to set timing than adjust valve lash but they both make a big difference.

MOSTLY AN UPDATE BUT ALSO A QUESTION!!
Have you checked/adjusted valve lash? It kind of sounded like a weak cylinder in the 2nd video, when the camera was pointed at the exhaust pipes. Didn't have that smooth sound of six strong cylinders. Kind of chunky.

Brakeline question
You could run a new line in areas that you can reach and just leave the old line in place until you remove the transmission for other reasons. An in-the-meantime solution that will fix the leak.

Red calipers and low profile tires. Do they really work on any car? I wonder what the new owner will do when he gets this. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1960-chevrolet-corvette-32/

Need to buy Brake Booster Reaction Disk (Disc)
Probably have to make your own. People have used hockey pucks or leather, I believe. Here's a thread with a dimension.

Does aluminum work as well as tin? I wonder if tin-filled cavities offer protection. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tin_foil

Strange fuel pump issue
Whatever was malfunctioning back then fixed itself, possibly. Switches do stick. Even a bad connection could cause it. Why not assume that the system works as Nissan intended it to and take the appropriate actions?

Strange fuel pump issue
Explain the above in terms of the below. Obviously your pump is not working the way you think it is. Good luck..

Strange fuel pump issue
Only if you remove the oil pump switch plug on 1978 280Z. It's a flaw. A 280Z fuel pump will only run with the key at Run if the operator intentionally changes something or there is an error in the system. It is well described in each individual 280Z Factory Service Manual in the Engine Fuel chapters. Except for the flaw in the 1978 fuel pump control system, which is described on one of the AtlanticZ.CA pages.

Strange fuel pump issue
Note: this is incorrect, if you're talking about 280Z's. 👽 The ZX's used a priming time at Run, but no 280Z's did. Seems like your hoses might be falling apart. You might check those. Could also be your pump check valve or FPR leaking down. The fact that you measured 10 and 5 is a sign. Usually they'll hold 20 or better even over a few days, even weeks. You can run your pump by removing the yellow solenoid wire and turning the key to Start.

It's Just an Odd Way to Write. A couple of Capitals for Emphasis is Normal but When You Sprinkle so Many in they Make Little Sense. It's Actually Harder to keep Hitting the Shift Button to write in This Weird Way. Which Makes it Even Weirder. Hence Queasy.

Used to be a person went to the rural less-populated areas to get healthy. Not so much these days. https://www.q13fox.com/news/indoor-events-bring-virus-outbreak-in-republic-washington Republic is pretty far out there.

Engine idling at 3k RPM, I think I’m getting too much fuel from the carbs
Throttle means to choke off, or cut supply. The engine will spin as fast as the air supply will let it. It's controlled by the throttle because the throttle controls the air supply. https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/throttle

1977 280z EFI Nightmare
Actually it looks like it was sealing where it needed to seal. Which way are you installing the yokes? They should have the edges pointing toward the manifolds, with the nut riding on the top of the curve. You're making progress. Use this EFI book, it has all years through 1980 listed. 1975 was their first shot at publishing a guide so it might have errors.

1977 280z EFI Nightmare
I'm not sure where you're getting your specs. from. AFM Test #2 in the 1980 EFI book says ~150 ohms, not zero. And 60 ohms is the typical resistance of a relay solenoid so I think that those are probably right also. And, yes, leaking injector seals would be a big problem. Those are kind of hard to install wrong but it does happen. Lube them up well and maybe install each injector separately before installing the rail. It's tempting to try to do it with them all on the rail but it can cause problems, especially with the three piece 77 rail. Make sure that the injector securing pieces are not cracked and that the screws are giving good clamping force. Intake manifold torque values are in the FSM, probably in the engine Mechanical chapter, but I remember something like 11 ft-lbs. It's like one hand on a ratchet wrench tight. Here is AFM Test #2 on page 75 of the 1980 EFI book.

1977 280z EFI Nightmare
When you moved the AFM vane you were adding fuel. Seems like a vacuum leak somewhere, or the typical "lean AFM/electronics" problem. The "temp sensor tweak" is the cure for that. Not sure what's going on with your voltages. Are you sure there's not a decimal on the display? What kind of meter? http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/tempsensorpot/index.html
