  1. Bosch probably makes good quality. Hard to say these days. But that pump doesn't have barbs for the hoses, it's made for Ford fuel lines. You want barbs on the high pressure side. I think the threaded end is outlet so you could probably find one. The Walbro site offers free shipping, after you pick exactly what fittings you want and a filter. You get the complete package. If I was looking for a new pump I'd probably go that route, plus SteveJ is using one and likes it. But, really, your biggest issue is probably going to be the waiting. Shipping will be slow, especially now, if the USPS gets involved. If you want to get going soon, you'll probably end up at a parts store. This Amazon list shows you all of the wrecking yard cars that might have a $20 used cheapy though. https://www.amazon.com/Bosch-69100-Original-Equipment-Replacement/dp/B000BZIC90
  2. Isn't that a carb pump? He has EFI. Edit - I don't know the later Mazda's, or early either actually. Can't find specs on that pump.
  3. It did pretty well. $37,000.
  4. People loaded a bunch of new videos on to the BAT listing. The BAT bidding battle has begun. Here's a good one. And this one.
  5. Walbro probably makes a good product. Stock motor people should be looking at the GSL393 though, not the 392. It's even pretty cheap. If you like Walbro quality that would be a good one maybe. I don't know much about Walbro myself. Go to the last link and you can see that they have a pretty good checkout procedure. You can get barbs and filters to fit from the start. Looks pretty good. https://walbrofuelpumps.com/walbro-gsl-series-universal-inline-fuel-pumps https://walbrofuelpumps.com/walbro-gsl393-fuel-pump.html
  6. On the Walbro - people get that pump sometimes because they need the rate or sometimes because it's the cool pump to have. But it flows twice what the stock pump flows and often makes noise because it can't pull that rate through the inlet side. Walbro 255 LPH = 67 GPH I think that the stock pump and the typical aftermarket pumps flow about 30 GPH.

  8. Here is a video, with the usual excruciating music. Funny how people don't understand the point of a race car video.
  9. Says John Coffey worked on it. "my name Larry"? Hi all, my name Larry I’m sue`s husband. I did the build on this car with some help from the late great John Coffee of beta motorsports.
  10. I used an Airtex E8312 for about 30,000 miles with no issues. Typical rubber mounting, quiet, lasted. It was $99 when I bought it but now they're cheaper on Rockauto and Amazon. But OReilly sells a different brand now. I think a lot of these pumps are actually the same pump, with a different seller. Look at the pictures. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/nissan,1976,280z,2.8l+l6,1209226,fuel+&+air,fuel+pump,6256 https://www.amazon.com/Airtex-E8312-Electric-Fuel-Pump/dp/B000DT7Y7K/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=AIRTEX+E8312&qid=1609186230&sr=8-1

Before you dig too deep in to your switches you might just hose the inside of the dimmer switch down with contact cleaner while working the dimmer mechanism, for your low beam problem. It often works. At the base of the turn signal stalk. If it does work you can always take it apart and make it even cleaner.
  16. Something about this new ad seems not quite right. Not sure what, exactly.
  17. Thanks, I finally figured out why the version I had has an F in front of the file name. Updated mine to this new version.
  18. Head bolt remnant. That pile of rust was in there also.
  19. The engine number should be on the plate in the engine bay. It seems to be there, wonder why he didn't take a picture. Does "open" mean clear?
  20. Here's my old 1976 N42 block. Nada.
  21. 1976 seems to show them growing in. Three! Thanks for the puzzle. That's weird.
  22. 1982 shows them on the F54 block. But 1978, which should be N42, is all wacked out. Seems to show them though.
  23. Remote oil filter mounting bosses? I thought the F54 block might have those and did a Google. One of the first images shows the four holes. Not sure what block he's showing. Diesel block maybe? https://www.californiadatsun.com/engine/long-block-short-block-engines/
  24. I saw that too. What's that smell? Blood in the water? Has some other janky stuff going on. Still, overall, not bad. Maybe $20,000?
