$40 is fine for those enthusiasts who are spending serious money (gas, hotel, food) just to get to the show from either out-of-state or more than just locally in the Orange County / LA area. That is why those of us driving long distance really want a 3 day event. Unfortunately many locals expect this show to be free and don't realize or care what the cost is to put these events on. As one pointed out we don't drive Ferrari's, but those who bitch about $40 never will.
  7. Jim sold the car a few years back........... I believe a young lady from the San Jose CA area purchased the car.
  8. Chris is completely correct. The 2012 host city will be confirmed in Savannah next year. It will be tough to top the event in Nashville; I am looking forward to a great event in Savannah; the "Valley of the Zun"....... ooops Sun aka Phoenix will definitely be asking to host the 25th Annual Z Car Convention in '12. If we held an event in winter not many could drive to our event. Remember this: IT'S A DRY HEAT Although the ambient temperature in October is about 78-85 F...... the humidity is only about 20-38%. Thanks. Gregg

  18. Hi, Just got back from driving the 370Z from Phoenix to Houston in the "Follow the Z Rally." Attached is a reenactment with the 370Z's of another historic journey from nearly 40 years prior. In October of 1969, Datsun brought a pair of pre-production 240Z cars into the Phoenix area for testing. Their trip is immortalized in a photograph taken near Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix, in front of the old Phoenix Greyhound Park. The picture shows the two Z test cars, with an early 510 chase vehicle, and Datsun personnel consulting a map during their trip through the Valley. Well, here we are, almost 40 years later, on the same exact corner, with three modern versions: Two 370Z's and a new 2009 Maxima. Enjoy ! Gregg Left to right the drivers of the 370Z's are Marty Huynh, Gregg Rogers, and Greg Childs. 2008 Photo and Maxima courtesy of Lenny Arnoth.
  19. Thanks Carl !!!!!
  20. Why not live in California, unlike Florida, at least they have four seasons: Fire, Flood, Earthquake, and Riot ............... I miss it ........ Back to the thread..... Carl, any other details, information, or contacts? I may fly over to LaLa to see this. Gregg
  21. Have both.... 2 Z32's and a 240 !!!!! Restoring the '71 240Z .... and it is still the most fun to drive !!

If you are still here next week, Desert Z Association (DZA) has been invited to put on a car show by our sponsor, Pinnacle Nissan, in conjunction with their huge Nissan USA event on Wednesday, November 7th, from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM. This is our regular monthly meeting night. The feature car for this event will be the Nismo 350Z, which will be on display and available for test drives. If you won't be here next week, this week I am still putting my '71 920 gold240Z back together. PM ........... for location and phone. Gregg
  25. The kit for $2000 is being purchased by a co-member in Desert Z Association (Phoenix,AZ). 2K seems high, but how many of the 5pcs kits are available TODAY in the US ??? It DOES come with the ZG headlights....which I have been for sale recently on E-bay for sale for $750.
