  1. Thank you You guys make it easy.
  2. I removed the transmission 240z to clean and paint the tunnel. I'm getting ready to paint the mount and got a good look at it. The cross member is good but the mount seems to be bent/off set to the front or back depending on the way I point it. If it is supposed to be that way can someone send me to a picture of the mount in a car so I can see how it is supposed to go.
  3. I had 2, the Caravan and My 73 240 Z. I drove the Z to 100K miles then took it of the road to clean off the rust and it was never finnished because my wife told me she was Pregnant and I needed the money fopr the kids. 25+ years under a car cover. I'm working on her now and hope to drive her again this summer. I miss and love my old 240Z. The Caravan was fun too. I lot of trips with the kids.
  4. I have a bad e brake cable on my 240Z. I have a new 280 cable. I need the ends to connect to the arm on the wheel cylinder. Can anyone help with part numbers and what I'm missing. I see I have to open the holes in the cable mounts, that is no problem but I need the missing parts.
  5. I have the transverse link bushings to install. The old ones were burned out the link is ready. The new bushings are urethane and this web site says they have to be very well greased or they could be noisy. Sounds like good advice.... Should I just grease the heck out of the metal tube that goes through the bushing and the ends of the bushing so the bushing moves with the link or grease everything in site?

I understand - the stub axle is the part with the lugs for the tire and the flange is the part that the half axle bolts to. The strut is out of the car - it definitely is the connection between the stub axle and the flange that has the rotation. now I have to find the parts --- Is there a source for a good parts break down, pictures, part #s ect. Thanks for the help - I'm 2 1/2 years into the project and I hope to drive the car next summer. The help is truly appreciated Phil
  7. I found the answer in a picture on this web site -- very cool -- the thicked bushing goes to the back of the car.

Thanks Dave, I think I found a link on this site for the hub, now i have to identify and locate the stub axle. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=3005 Do you think this is one of the parts in question?
  9. I took apart my 73 Z car 2 years ago and am trying to put it back together. The front transverse link has two bushings. one is bigger then the other. Is the link closer to the front of the car or the back as viewed in the cross member? or is there a picture some one can send?

One of the rear axles has rotational play (you can hold the wheel mounting plate and still rotate the axle a few degrees). Is this normal? The other side has no play so I’m worried.
