  1. Little birdy tells me you are keeping her I had actually sold it all, but regretted it, and knew I wouldn't find another in this condition, plus I didn't need to sell anymore, so I withdrew the sale. So it definitely wont be heading overseas.
  2. It won't be heading overseas, is all I can say.
  3. Car and parts are now sold. Thanks to all for their interest.
  4. And some photos of the parts as well. There's probably other parts I have forgotten as well, will try to find everything and list it, hard to remember as these parts were collected over many years.
  5. Photos of the car now. The last photo is when I bought the car.
  6. After much consideration I have decided to sell my Project. I have a 1974 Datsun 240K coupe which I planned on converting into a C110 G.T.R Replica, complete with an L28 stroker motor and triple Mikunis. Unfortunately I don't have the time for this anymore and am selling this hopefully to someone who shares a similar passion. I bought the car in 2011, and it has pretty much sat in the garage all this time, I start the engine every month, and drive it up and down the driveway to keep things circulating. The car has very minimal rust and is in amazing condition for a 40 year old car. The car is not registered and would need to be towed, but it is driveable. It is factory auto and completely original. I also have a complete 5 speed manual conversion for the car and the following parts * Spare L28 engine ( N42/N42 ) that was running when purchased out of a 280C sedan. * LD28 crankshaft * L28 race extractors * 4 x 40mm Solex Mikuni Carburetors * Full G.T.R interior trim, aluminium dash trim, "skyline" dash badge, G.T.R steering wheel, ORIGINAL G.T.R gear knob, centre console trim, radio, cassette blanking cover etc. * All G.T.R exterior pieces, including front grill, fender mirrors, flares, rear spoiler, all badges, JDM tailights, G.T.R tailight rings, early style bumper reflectors e.t.c. Just don't have the G.T.R Faux air vent and G.T.R fuel filler cover. Have also N.O.S gear boot and rubbers for boot and gearbox, also have N.O.S fuel cap. Can either sell as one lot (prefer to do this), or can sell the car, and the parts as a bundle. Not looking to sell the parts individually at this stage. Car is located in Sydney, N.S.W Offering the car here first, hopefully to go to a fellow member. Not looking to make a profit, just want to get back what it owes me. Looking at 15K negotiable for the car, and 10K negotiable for the parts, or 20K for the lot. P.M me if interested. I will add photos shortly. Cheers, Costas.
  7. This seller has a bit of a history of listing and cancelling auctions for 240Ks', some of the older members would remember a brown coupe back in 2006 & 2007 that was the subject of great debate then as to how often it was listed then re-listed. Interesting as its a "private" auction, so you can't see the identities of the bidders (if you know what I mean)
  8. What a great score! Now, whats the bet you get a dozen offers from "exporters" that are interested if you are going to sell.( If you haven't already ) Good Luck with your car.

Good Stuff! I saw it on E-bay, looked at a few other items, went back later and it was gone! You have to be very quick these days. Good to see it stay local and judging by your plans, original. Good Luck and post some photos when it arrives.
  10. I think Ben from Otomoto is building an RB30 with a twin cam head for his 240K Coupe. You could ask him for some info.
  11. How deep are your pockets? NISSAN KGC110SKYLINE KEN&MERRY (1973) 2D Hardtop 5 SP Manual :::Datsun 240k GL | eBay
  12. Judging by your comment and new message at the bottom of your post, you must be the new owner. Congratulations, what will be your plans? G.T.R replica? Restore as a 240K? Good Luck and keep us posted.
  13. More to the Bathurst story, a page from the 1975 Official Guide. http://www.uniquecarsandparts.com.au/bathurst_program_1975_index.htm See page 14 of the guide. also it seems another 240K coupe ran at Bathurst in 1975 as well, see page 34 of the guide, Class 2001cc to 3000cc. http://www.autopics.com.au/item.mibiznez?id=1703

Here I was thinking that I wouldn't see the progress on this car anymore:cry: Until I saw the last line of your response :classic: Are you going to work on the body now? Will be cool to see the results!

Looks very nice. Is the colour you chose a red or a kind of sunburnt orange, as it appears a bit orange in the outdoor shot? Good luck with the build.

Nice Work, Did you get rid of that factory Nissan sticker on the underside of the boot lid? I've wondered when I'll respray my car that I'll have to peel the stickers off the underside of the boot and bonnet, and that would be a shame as they are in good condition. Can you get replicas of those? Good to see updates.
  17. Very Nice!! These were off Auszcar site I believe. Now you have to build a L28 stroker. Looking forward to seeing this project completed.
  18. Auction was stopped 4 days early for brown coupe, anyone on here get it? Curious to see where it ends up.
  19. Here's a Coupe for sale with an interesting history. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Datsun-240k-coupe-1973-/170903506953?pt=AU_Cars&hash=item27caa49009 Hope it goes to a proper home. I nearly bought this in 2007. But seeing as I want a G.T.R replica, this ones too good to cut up. There should be a good write up on this car on this forum in 2006 when it was for sale by previous owner. http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/thread27263.html http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/thread20405.html http://www.classiczcars.com/forums/thread21279.html
  20. HaHa, If I could afford an OS Giken head, then I'd probably buy an S20 instead. I've already got a LD28 crank, so I'm at crossroads now. My L24 has a E30 head, with a E31 block, not sure if I should just stroke this motor or go for an L28 instead. Thanks for the commments guys. I'll take them on board. Cheers.
  21. I bought a triple set of Solex 40PHH carbys a while back to put on my L24, but lately I've been entertaining the idea of buying an L28 and building a 3.1 stroker. I know its probably not worth the expense and trouble to go for this sort of engine, but I love the sound and extra torque ( with a bit more top end power ) that you'd get with a stroker motor. This engine would be built over a long period of time ( to spread out the costs) My question I guess is has anyone used 40mm Solex Carbies on a Stroker motor? Would they be too small or can they be modified to flow better? I'm no expert on Carburetors, or do I need to go to 44mm Solex Carbs? I'd rather keep my existing ones if I can. And I'd like to stay with Solexes rather than Webers. I wouldn't be trying to build a monster race motor, just one that can cruise easily with probably a mild cam in it. Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.
  22. Congratulations on such a good find and welcome to the club. It seems like you have a top example of a 240K, is it auto or manual? There's lots of guys on this site doing G.T.R clones, myself included. Maybe your car is a little too good to convert into a G.T.R, it seems a shame to cut the "sail lines" on the back for flares, but at the end of the day it's up to you. Good Luck and remember to post plenty of photos as we would all be interested to see.

I'm curious on the fuel filler cover and air vent cover to convert to G.T.R spec, I've never seen those before, I've only seen the complete fuel filler or vent cover for sale. Are they repos or original, and were they expensive? I'd need a set as well.
  24. Hi 24ozed, Welcome to the club. As Adzmax said, buying a car with the majority of the bodywork done will save you a big headache, just make sure that it is done properly. In regards to the centre console, the Auto and Manual should be the same ( I think ), just collecting all the manual conversion stuff takes time, I would know as I have just done the same. Took me a while to get the pedal kit, but a fellow member helped me out, most of the other stuff is from either Ebay or Yahoo Japan. Good Luck, and lets see some pics.
